AC Milan striker believes Arsenal could easily be beaten on Thursday

Arsenal confounded all critics when they surprisingly beat AC Milan at the San Siro last Thursday, but the Italians refuse to believe that they are out of the competition given Arsenal’s inconsistencies.

Fabio Borini saw his side get back wo winning ways with a 1-0 win at Genoa at the weekend, and was asked about this week’s second leg. “We can still do it. Arsenal are strange and open. They are capable of beating you 4-0 and then conceding just as many at home,” he was quoted as saying. “We’ve got the advantage of knowing we messed up the first leg and now we know what we’ve got to do.

“Nothing is impossible. We’re proving that with our own challenge for a place in the Champions League next season, so even a 2-0 defeat at home can be overturned.”

Milan’s keeper Goalkeeper Gigio Donnarumma was also in a confident mood after the game: “…Against Genoa we got three fundamental points that will give us confidence and grit to face Arsenal on Thursday.” he said. “Against the Gunners we will play like we have nothing to lose. Champions League? It has been a great chase, now we are close and we must believe that we can make it. We are a great group and the celebration after Silva’s goal showed it. We all want to do well and forget the game against Arsenal. Personally, I am happy and serene.”

there is no doubt that Arsenal have been extremely inconsistent this season and could be nervous on Thursday, but surely we should be supremely confident back at the Emirates?

  1. You never know with these Arsenal sides. Right when you think a corner is being turned a bad performance can pop out of nowhere so Milan definitely have a chance, but we’ve put ourselves in a good position after 1st leg. Defense is worrying though. Mustafi will be replaced by Holding, and Milan could have an easier time with that. But I’m pretty confident Arsenal will score and seal the deal this time around.

  2. Against Arsenal everything is possible. We are not special team to beat after all. We need to give it our all and do our best, as home games and leads at times do mean not much.

  3. If Holding and Chambers are going to play, one of them is going to be eliminated, which is going to make Milan’s life a lot easier.Look for a thriller in which the entire stadium will pray for the referee to blow the end of the game.

    1. lol… like it!
Although, if Holding and Chambers are our future CB partnership i would love to see them playing successfully together as perhaps Bould & Adams did.. Obviously they are no where near that level but when and how do they learn each others game and get that partnership?.. top level time on the pitch together ?

      1. Some coaching like Adams and Bould received from George Graham would help and improve them as players. They won’t get that at this Club with THIS Manager.

        1. Can’t argue with that.. the players aren’t as bad as people like to say.. its alot to do with the system and style they are made to accept.

          1. One take away from our last game; It seems we have alot of hot-heads in the squad–like all of them! Love it! COYG

  4. You would expect the team to be focused and determined on Thursday evening. We have all but blown our chances of qualifying for the Champions League through a top 4 finish so our absolute priority must be to win the Europa Cup.
This is not beyond us and if we put in a polished performance against Milan it should be more than enough to get us through.
It would be good to have a full stadium. The empty seats is demoralising for the fans as much as the players and we are capable of creating an atmosphere on occasions.
You would imagine the hard part has been done after last weeks result in Milan so there is absolutely no excuse for us not to go through.

    1. Nice once and was happy to see no mention of Wenger bla bla bla bla, hope we lose bla bla bla bla.

  6. Hopefully the right Arsenal team turns up on Thursday. ACMilan has to come at us due to the 2 goal away deficit. It is essential that Arsenal do not concede an early goal and take advantage of any room in behind the AC Milan defence. Hopefully Lacazette is available!

  7. I cant disagree with him. It’s def possible
We have a history of losing big both domestic and international. We also have a history of dominating one leg and being destroyed in another leg.

Our players need to focus and respect Milan. 0-2 is not a HUGE advantage. It can be overturned if we are Sloppy, Floppy and Dopey. The players need to show up (mentally) and work their gluteus maximus off

Also, Wenger needs to play the best players available to him. I hope he doesn’t get cute or “creative”. Let’s just get through to the next round. I wouldn’t be sad with a 0-0 draw tbh

That said, Im quietly positive about progressing

    1. Forgot to mention that i can’t count the amount of times ive seen a team score 2-3 goals within minutes of each other. Literally 2-0 could become 2-3 in just a few minutes with horrible defending. (Im sure that won’t happen) So again, our players must not go into the match thinking the match is just a formality and have their minds on the next match or next round. FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS and play hard

  8. God I hope not, but you never know which Arsenal team will turn up! I never thought we’d lose to Ostersunds!!
As long as he puts out our strongest side and they all try! Just a shame Auba can’t play. If we do go through, hopefully Laca will be back. COYG
