Alexis Sanchez shows again why Arsenal MUST keep him

Even though Arsenal could have argued that we had plenty of chances to score against Hull City at the Emirates stadium today, the fact is that both goals were scored by our star striker Alexis Sanchez, highlighting once again why the club has to get it together and do whatever it takes to keep the Chile international in north London.

In a game as tight as this was today, when the top quality of the Gunners is hard to find and the opponents have their tails up and are making things very difficult, little incidents and fine margins can make all the difference and that is why Alexis is such an important player for Arsenal.

We see the likes of Ozil and Walcott having great games at times and sometimes Arsenal in flow are a joy to watch, but often we have to rely on the tenacity as well as the talent of our Chilean, whose double today took him clear in the Premier League scoring chart.

Okay the first goal came off his hand and the second was a penalty but he was also involved in the build up to both and another forward may well not have won the game for the Gunners. Sanchez was slated a bit for his poor showing at Chelsea last weekend but you can count those sort of games from him on one hand.

Is keeping Alexis the most important bit of business Arsenal will do this summer?

  1. Yes. He is our best player
    Our most consistently performing player
    Always works hard
Always wants to play and perform well
Has emotions on pitch too which just adds to his charm and character

I will be happily surprised if he signs again but will not be surprised if he leaves sadly

  2. What a club they are quick to offer Wenger a 2 year contract to continue his madness but can offer Alexis what he deserves

  3. @Arsenal_Girl Will be surprised if Alexis signs as well. I think he’s gone next Summer. Hopefully, we’ll get very good money for him.

  4. Unfortunately he will be off in the summer.

I can’t think of 5 matches this season when we have won comfortably, playing well and in control for whole 90 minutes. Today wasn’t an exception.

  5. If he goes can you blame him.he gives it everything every game compared to the others.
Some good play today and some disjointed passages but at this stage of the season I would take 3 points like this every week. Hull were and have improved but to be honest we should BE beating teams like them easier.

  6. Alexis shows again why we need him, and Ozil shows again why he isn’t deserving of a big fat pay raise.

    1. True, also Walcott one season, Van Persie one season, Wilshere one season, ooh sorry, one match (against Barca)

  7. Great article. I was thinking the exact same thing throughout the match and I agree that all should be done to keep him here. He always seems to get us through an off performance.
