Allegri leaving himself open to Arsenal before Juventus contract talks?

There is a theory that Arsenal Football Club may have been set to announce that Arsene Wenger would be staying on as our manager and signing a new contract, had the Gunners bounced back with a bang and beaten Man City at the weekend. That did not happen and despite the players showing some more fight than we saw at West Brom it was hardly the sort of performance which made the Arsenal fans ready to accept another year under the Frenchman.

So we are still waiting and perhaps we are not alone, with Squawka.com reporting that the current Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has revealed that any talks over a new contract with the Serie A champions will not be happening any time soon.

The Italian said, “I haven’t discussed the future with the board yet; we will have time to do that properly soon.

“We have not met up, we’re not discussing next season, as there is plenty of time for that.”

You might think that this seems pretty normal, except for the fact that weeks ago the news from Italy was that Juventus wanted Allegri to sort out his future as soon as possible. That is clearly not going to happen and with the uncertainty still surrounding Wenger’s future at Arsenal I think he could be leaving himself open for a move to the Premier League.

    1. Might as well throw Jose Mourinho in that list for good measure. As for Konstantin Mitov, if pigs learn how to fly, and he becomes the next Arsenal manager in some parallel universe, I’m switching sides and becoming a Spurs fan. And I don’t think I’ll be the only one. The whole Arsenal fan base will abandon the club.
