Are Arsenal fans really JEALOUS of Chelsea?

There is a long running feud between Arsenal and Chelsea, and not just because we are London neighbours. Tottenham are the Gunners traditional figure of fun, but the Blues are more of a hate figure since Roman Abramovich took over and brought in that Portugese Bus Conductor to spend his money.

Arsene Wenger is desperate to beat Jose Mourinho, but when they play each other Chelsea aim to frustrate Arsenal rather than try and entertain the crowds, which goes against Arsene Wenger’s philosophy. So although we were chanting “Boring, Boring, Chelsea”, the fact is that Mourinho gets the job done and it is the Blues that will be crowned Champions next week.

Mourinho countered the “boring” label by saying that “Boring is waiting 11 years for a title” and now the young Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma believes that the Arsenal fans are simply jealous of the West London club’s success. He said: “They are jealous because their team is not top of the league, and they want to be top of the league like everyone wants to — that’s normal.

“We know that everybody wants to beat us so I think we play the same but more defensively — we have to concentrate and be focused.”

So here is the million dollar question. Would you rather that Arsenal were called boring and won the title, or be perrenial, but exciting, losers?

mmmmm I think many people underestimate our squad hay…

I believe we have a sanchez/hazard hybride under our noses. THE OX. Iv watched him closely this season, all he needs is goals and assists(end product), than I believe we’ll have one of the most dangerous wingers in Europe.
Welbeck…mmmmmm, he has the tools to be a top striker, I get the feeling his to scared to shoot, or something. He has pace, physic, and heigh. If Henry can pay oxy and welbs a visit for 3 sessions, I think it’ll have a effect.
Walcot(scatches head) his probably my 2nd best player, but the system we using aint benefit him, as he does not defend. On form, his as lethal as robben I tel u, (yes robben), his pace and directness strike fear in anyone, (ask guadiola)

I think we need 2 players only. ST and DM. Ónce we have that, I believe we’ll win the EPL and CL. yes (CL). im pretty confident bout this new arsenal. No injuries, and staying consistent, then I believe the likes of Bayern and Barca will start looking over their shoulder.

    COYG!!!!!!

Walcott had the same stats as Ribery in the 12/13 season but no one pays attention to that because all the haters follow the media like sheep

No fkng way .. zouma is deluded. Arsenal won more trophoies than them in the last 3 years. Chelsea got knocked out in champions League at prequarter round. The only thing i envy about them is hazard. If he had been injured , cchelsea wud hv been 4th. On the other note, why everyone is talking about how well Chelsea defended and not talking about how well arsenal defended and attacked? Bloody biased media.

Where on earth did you get that statistic from? From the 2012 calendar year till now Chelsea have been in 7 finals and won 4 trophies spread across European and domestic honours. In that period we’ve been in 1 final and won 1 trophy. Assuming Chelsea win vs Palace on Saturday and we beat Villa that number will be 5 to 2.

Chelsea went out at the R16 yes bt dude, so did we vs the weakest team left in the tournament. You say the media should talk about how well we attacked and defended but we had 1 shot on target at home vs a team that attacked seldomly and played half the match without a striker

I get you’re defending Arsenal but you’re grasping at straws here.

I don’t think jealouse is the word. But you can’t say you don’t envy the fact that they are going to win the league and we are not. In all honestly loads of improvement have been made at Arsenal tactically and the fact that Ospina and Coq have come in. defensively we are more secure and may be more stable as well.
Winning the FA CUp and Bn 2nd is the league is progress. If you told me that was going to happen in all honestly i would have said no chance.

Like i said above we have progressed but we should not stop there. The champions legue is what hurt me the most. As i still think of Monaco loss everytime I wake up. Anyways thats football and shit happens .

Win the FA cup and we have a chance to get something on Chelsea in The Community Shield before the start of next season.
Yeah its not exactly a trophy but atleast its a once off, NO DRAW game against the Bus Conductors side.

We gained our big game mentality against Man City in the Community Shield, hope the same happens against Chelsea !

Envy on the title after 11 years? Who’s not? About the feud against Chelsea, we weren’t in the harmonic distance to make damage on their title hunt. Chelsea has won the title because they’re untouchables in first half of season. In second half we’re much better team than them, but it’s too late to catch them. Golden chances to finish 2nd (evade ECL qualifier) and to retain FA Cup won’t count as bad results by any means.
Mourinho claimed that they played phenomenon tactic on April. LOL! I said his tactic was phenomenally BORING. Mou is the most pragmatism football manager ever, and he’s not gonna change. His “invincible wanna be team” (LOL! end up 22 strikes) has constantly playing defensive against top 6, and that’s describe his basic coward philosophy.
At this time, he has every right to be imperious of his “genius”(WTF!) tactic and silverware collections.
To shut him out we’ll need to take the title from his hand and by the way we’re going it will be a logical reality. See you next season Jose, we’ve score to settle. Nothing will last forever! COYG!!!!!!!!!

Chelsea’s squad dont have to play boring football to win PL and CL. They showed us that in 08-11 when the likes of Di Matteo and Mourinho did not manage with their “main goal is to not concede” mentality. They have the players to dominate games like us, but the manager is throwing shit at the art of football. Give Ancelotti the reins at Chelsea and I’m sure they will still win PL, only this time while playing enjoyable football. My bottom line is that Chelsea has the better squad and consequently does better throughout the season, regardless of the tactic of the manager.

Henry (and Mourinho) is right, we need to sign more quality players this summer to be natural contenders for the title.

Yeap there’s absolutely no need to play “BORING” to win, SAF proved that. He didn’t have the JM (Coward) mentality but won enough titles including CL..

Umm are you serious?? Di Matteo went arguably more defensive than Jose now in their CL run. That’s why they copped so much for the CL

    Just win the EPL.
    I don’t care how.
    Chelsea have an amazing
    squad. Every player they
    have is top class.
    Arsenal has closed the gap
but its still going to be 10 points.
We need to cut the squad to the very best 23
Then add a DM and striker.
Then we are ready to rock and roll 🙂

I feel like that is exactly what we should be doing too. we have a good group. we need just about 2 good additions and thats it. We need to start well and keep our injuries in check.

I will add Schiniderlin and Lacazette. the we are good to go.

Varane f*** yes but will he leave Madrid or join Mourinho ? Kondogbia no doubt, he kept our midfield in his pocket, Reus is my dream signing but will he get better after his injury and does he still have the desire to win ? Hope he inherits the no7 shirt from Rosicky who happened to be his favorite player during his childhood

I don’t know whether we are jealous of CHIPSY CHOPSY CHELSKI, but what I do know and very strongly feel the reason is being the tussle between the monkey man and Wenger…..more so because he hasn’t been able to defeat him…….and as and when Wenger calls it a day, we all will see it getting normal????

Dimwits cannot see beyond their noses or backs, that is why the Chelsea fraternity are making such ridiculous statements. Here are statistics that answer the Chelsea dimwits:
    Chelsea Arsenal
    Founded 1905 1889
    Titles 4 13
    promotions (2) 0
    Fa Cup 7 11
    League Cup (5 ) 2
    CL 1 0
    CWC 2 1
    Europa (1) 0
    Charity Shield 0 13
    Other 3 1

Longest period 50 years 18 years
    no winning title

From the above table it is apparent that Arsenal is far more successful than Chelsea. Chelsea’s success and failure story is highly variable with two relegation and the longer period without winning the League title. Experience tells us that a club’s path is cyclical, and this means that the new found success in which Chelsea revel in may evaporate going into the future.

When Jose claimed that what is boring is going for 10 years without a title, he was by implication rubbishing Chelsea as well for they have gone for 50 years without a winning a title themselves. He was in directly branding older Chelsea fans idiots for standing by a team that goes for half a century without winning a title. By implication he was saying Chelsea fans must be forever grateful to him and Abramovich for ending the title drought. So rather than being bothered by Jose’s stupid remarks, Arsenal fans must direct those remarks to where they belong, Chelsea fans.

Jog on son. Took me 10 minutes to decipher that sh**te. For a club that is 110 years old and to have only 10 years of history is simply tragic. Take away Abramovich and you have nothing. Zilch. Nada. Zero. And you know it. And Arsenal got ripped several new ones by the press, pundits and fans alike when “1-0 to the Arsenal” was being chanted under Graham – but it didn’t cost him a billion quids worth of investment to stink up the place and throttle the life out of a game. You have the same number of league titles as Sheffield Wednesday – come back on here and have a chat when you have caught up with Sunderland’s haul of 6 titles. You’ll be almost half way then.

It pains me to see a comment like this as an Arsenal fan because I KNOW that you’re either a relatively new fan to the league or have poor memory. If you think Chelsea were doing nothing pre – Abramovic then iI have to inform you that you’re incorrect.

Chelsea were a mildly successful club in the90s and hadn’t finished outside of the top 6 for years before Abramovic took over. They enjoyed a period of mild success under the 90s. I remember this because the BBC would make a decent sized commotion every time anything happened to a London club that WASN’T Arsenal.

I apologise for your pain. Not sure how the transformation from being “mildly successful” to winning 4 PL titles in 10 years is unrelated to Abramovich though. And my memory is fine – all the way back to cheering Leeds as a neutral in the 1970 cup final, seeing the Ken Bates era unfold, seeing them yo-yo between 1st and 2nd division on a regular basis, through standing in the Shed end (with my Chelski fan university mate) and watching John Hollin’s and Bobby Campbell teams getting ripped by the likes of Newcastle in the mid/late 80s and on to being fascinated by the managerial revolving door seeing at Chelski ever since. If not being outside the top 6 , a couple of FA cups and a league cup over that 30 years represents success then fair play and I assume you will have no business being critical of Arsenal’s achievements over the past 10 years.

You say that like its a guarantee we will not win playing our style. We have been unlucky on occasion especially injuries but we did come close one or two times even though we had been out spent 20 times over. If we can come close by spending little monies am definitely sure we can win it now we have sufficient money.

To answer your question – of course id take the titles if it was a choice between winning and not winning. Although it would bother me if we used the same tactics against middle and lower clubs that we used when playing giants of Europe.. id say come on man we have some of the best attackers in the world.. show some balls.

Barca UCL win in 2011 or Chelsea UCL win in 2012? Anyone with a good football brain would say Barca ’11…because chelsea played shit football all season in UCL.

I think everybody is missing an important point regarding chelsea and ourselves. Most of their squad stay fit with minimal injuries, yet ours have top players missing for months. Sort that out and we have a fighting chance.
