Are Arsenal’s Ozil and Sanchez playing for new contracts?

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has claimed that the upturn in form for Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil could be because they have intentions to stay.

The superstar duo have been central in our improved form in recent months, and the cloud over their futures may well be helping them to perform.

There is a huge likelihood that the pair are playing their hearts out in their bid to attract interest from potential suitors with their futures being up in the air, but there could well be the possibility that they are fighting to stay also.

Ozil himself has always claimed that he is willing to stay at the club, while the Chilean has also said that contract negotiations had gone wrong because of financial issues, and the pair could well have been challenged to earn their requested wage demands.

Emmanuel Petit is praising the current form of the forwards, whilst asking the question as to the reasoning for the recent performances.

“Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are coming back to the way they should be playing for Arsene Wenger,” Petit said.

“It’s great news for Arsenal that they’ve returned to form.

“But is that just because the transfer window is around the corner?

“Who knows if they still want to leave? I really hope they remain at the club.

“But, if they do, they need to show the same commitment to help Arsenal to a Champions League spot.”

Could it be that the pair have been challenged to earn their wage demands? Could the relationship between Lacazette and the pair be exciting the trio to stay together?

If Petit actually does believe what this article says he believes, which I heavily doubt, since he has proven himself an intelligent man, then I think he has been smoking the funny ciggies!

To me it looks like Sanchez is just playing for himself but Ozil has definately upped his game of late, Petits comments are more so in hope and out of the 2 if any of them stay beyond the summer it will be Ozi, but I wouldn’t bet on it

It’s all about career and money, just like what it is for any professionals that are working in the offices. If you can improve your career or salary by moving to another company or by improving your performance at your current workplace, you will strive for it.

They are playing to place themselves in the shop window.
    Nothing more.
Why would they stay – Arsenal cannot attract the top players because they are not competitive.
Arsenal are just like Wenger himself – old, spent and out of ideas..

Sanchez was terrible against Man U. I think he has had one good game this season. Go figure,

Ozil and Sanchez are playing for Arsene Wenger because he is an amazing coach and has the confidence of his squad.

Out of the two, Ozil is the only who’s been actually playing lately. I don’t know what Sanchez is doing but I definitely can’t call it “playing football”. It seems to me that The Little Chilean Le Sulk checked out mentally last season and have yet to find any kind of form. Tired of hearing about him but most importantly sick of watching him play for us without contributing much. At this point he’s more of a distraction than anything else, and I for one will not be sad to see him go.
