Are latest Morata reports a boost to Arsenal move?

Real Madrid are claimed to have postponed a meeting with Juventus in which they were set to discuss Alvaro Morata’s future.

The Spanish international’s transfer has been speculated in the press for the past few months, with Real claimed to be ready to trigger his release clause this summer, before selling him on for a sizeable profit.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal are all said to be interested in signing him from the Champions League winners, although it had been reported that Real Madrid would be in want of around £45 Million in order to sell him on.

A meeting between the Spanish and Italian giants is now said to have been postponed, which one source claimed was a boost to the English side’s bids, citing that Juve could now sell the star on to whichever club they wished.

Juventus have said on a number of occasions that they wanted to keep Morata in Italy, which tells me this supposed ‘boost’ is in no way shape or form, helping our club’s bid to try and sign him this summer.

Allegri previously stated: “I would hate to lose any player, He’s got back to doing well once again. I hope he stays at Juventus.”

We appeared to have changed targets in recent weeks, having triggered a release clause to try and sign Jamie Vardy from Premier League winners Leicester City, but the striker is yet to decide whether he wants to make that switch or not.

We could now be set to miss out on both, but with the transfer window yet to officially open, there is no need to worry that another option will not turn up before the season begins.

Who should we switch our attention to?

    1. Vardy can be a better scorer than Giroud but he won’t take us to the level Ozil and Sanchez are aiming for.

  1. I really don’t know how some people still believe we can get the best that’s out there. Aubameyang, Lewy are never going to happen. Only way it could happen is if we were the only team chasing them. Or if they had their heart set on joining us. Just throw 60m at it I hear, che manu and city can do that much easier than we can, and they can go deeper, this isn’t even bringing BM RM PSG into they fray.

Cavani’s name came up last week. Weirdly people were against it, this lad would be one of the best of the rest. Outside the top strikers I don’t think we could do much better than Cavani. And if Vardy’s theatrics of last season are not a one season phenomenon well then Id have to say we couldn’t do much better than he at this stage either. Vardy looked better than the much liked Lukaku last season, and there is a thirty mil price difference. Id prefer if someone mentioned who the target should be rather than saying we need a certain high quality. If Vardy could come to us and did bag over twenty pl goals well then Id say we got the star striker we needed. His ability to scrap is what excites me a bit, Id imagine that could come in handy in coming up with a winner. Also his counter attack, we need that for CL if we ever want to try and put a dent in it. I would be delighted if we brought Barbosa or Janssen along with him, the age would not be much consequence that way.

  2. With the £45 million price tag Wenger won’t touch Morata with a long pole. I wouldn’t touch him either.
