Are these Arsenal stars going in the shop window in this pre-season friendly?

All Arsenal fans are waiting impatiently for Arsene Wenger to begin the clearout of our peripheral players that are very unlikely to feature in the Gunners starting line up in the upcoming campaign, but this weekend’s friendly match against local side Boreham Wood could give any watching scouts a chance to assess the form and fitness of any possible targets.

The match tomorrow evening in Hertfordshire has already been advertised as including a selection of possible departures including Chuba Akpom, Mathieu Debuchy, Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson, all of whom are expected to depart the Emirates very soon, either as sales or on loan.

Gibbs has already seen a move to West Bromwich Albion break down over the transfer fee demanded by Arsenal, and Carl Jenkinson who also turned down a move to Crystal Palace in January due to contractual differences. Matthieu Debuchy has wanted out of Arsenal for some time, but luck and injuries (and his massive wages) have got in the way of any departure, while Chuba Akpom has seen his chances of making it in Arsenal’s forward line diminish in every transfer window, and has failed to impress while on loan at lower level League clubs.

I am sure Wenger would love to get all these players off the wage bill so he will be hoping for impressive performances from all of them, and hopefully, just hopefully, we can find buyers for all of them!

  1. This transfer market is looking to be like every other Wenger transfer market in the past 12 years. Disappointment.
Unless there are another 2-3 big buys in key positions and the sell off of some of the fringe players, Arsenal will slide further down the table. Forget about competing with Chelsea, Tottenham, Man City, Man U or Liverpool.
Wenger better pull his finger out and make some big buys before the start of the season or the banners will be out early.

  2. Wenger needs to get rid of players who are below average to average quality and those who are surplus to our needs. He should fine tune our squad and sign appropriate players so that we have the quality to win the Title

If I were manager I would sell:
    Jenkinson
    Debuchy (get backup RB)
    Gabriel (replace with Nelson/Chambers)
    Gibbs (replaced by Sead Kolsanic)
Eleny (Coquelin takes his place as 2nd)
    Wilshere (get a top CM)
    Akpom
    Lucas (LEMAR)

    This summer signings:
    Top LB: DONE
    Top striker: DONE
    Top winger: Left and/or Right
Top CM: Either top box2box and/or DM

    My choice for last two:
    Lemar and/or Mahrez
    Gorerztka and/or Carvalho

    1. Mbappe, Lemar and Mahrez are classy technicians but this team doesn’t need more of those – THIS TEAM NEEDS POWER PLAYERS WHO WILL HELP WIN GROUND FOR OUR TECHNICIANS TO PLAY IN

BARKLEY, GORETZKA, RENATO SANCHES, BENTEKE, NIANG – we should be looking at these sorts of players first and foremost

  3. ——————-lacazette
    ———–Alexis———–ozil
    Lemar—-carvalho—seri—Bellerin
    —kolansinac———–mustafi
    —————-koscielny

This is what I want and this could definitely get top 4
30mil carvalho 35mil seri 50mil lemar is a decent transfer window and the midfield can compete with kante bakayoko or delli alli Eric dier then play xhaka on games we will have more space

  4. the Debuchy situation is embarrassing – just release him from his contract, pay it off and cut him loose – NO WAY should he be taking up a squad place this season

there’s no need to be demanding large fees for Gibbs and Jenkinson either – if anyone offers £7m for either BITE THEIR HAND OFF – let these guys go rescue their careers somewhere

we NEED a couple more midfielders/attackers who make a PHYSICAL IMPACT on games…we have way too many diminutive technicians who get bullied off the ball way too easily by average teams like Watford did last year

at a minimum we should be making a serious effort to get someone big and tall like ROSS BARKLEY, LEON GORETZKA or RENATO SANCHEZ in midfield, or MBAYE NIANG in attack

these guys are affordable – THERE IS NO EXCUSE not to be looking at them

    1. I agree with arsenals decision Jeffery slupp went for 15m and he ain’t half as talented as gibbs
