Arsenal already have new manager ready to go?

With one more game to play for Arsenal under the managerial reign of Arsene Wenger, although it really should have been two with all the chances squandered in our Europa League semi-finals, the talk around the club will naturally be more and more concerned qwith who will replace the Frenchman.

Arsenal fans will be debating this for as long as it takes for the club’s top brass to announce their decision, but that may not turn out to be very long at all. Sky Sports are reporting that the shortlist has already become very short, with the two names on it being those of Luis Enrique and Massimiliano Allegri.

If this is true, then it may well be that the thing that decides between the two is availability. Allegri has two Serie A games left to get the point that Juventus need to clinch a 4th Italian title in a row. He also has the chance of a double with AC MIlan in the Coppa Italia final to come.

It is hardly surprising, with his trophy record at Juve, that Arsenal want Allegri but he does still have two years left on his current contract, while the former Barcelona player and coach Enrique is a completely free agent after taking a year off from the game.

So could Arsenal already have the choice of new manager sorted, with it being Allegri if we can get him and Enrique if not?

Bob.

  1. I suspect the new manager is gonna be a German speaking manager. Maybe one of these people:

    – Tuchel

    – Buvac

    – Lehmann

    – Mertesacker

    1. Breaking News: Thiery Henry, the new Arsenal Manager. Who expected this? Was this the reason, he has not paid farewell tributes to Arsene yesterday? But that is spot on.

  2. I would love Alegri, not so much enrique as his only success is Barca which most coaches have been successful with.
personally i would like Jardim, Nagglesman(not sure how its spelt)
i think they would promote youth and make the team hardworking

  3. That kid on AFTV said Allegri is close. He was right about Ozil, Auba and Wenger going this season. I friggin hope its allegri. FINGERS CROSSED!

    1. Yeah, he’s been right about everything. I actually believe him.

      Allegri is the new manager.

      1. For an 18 year old, I would like to know his sources, as he gets an awful right and was onto the Aubameyang transfer before anyone else. I hope he is right about Allegri!

  4. Both great options –

But doesn’t sound inline with their ‘be brave’ statements which suggested to me they would be signing someone less proven

  5. Allegri for me, tried and tested and a serial winner. He will bring tactical nous to Arsenal something that has been missing for years. So go on Arsenal get him even if it means paying Juve to release him. That said I’ll bet they go for a cheaper option, it’s in their DNA. But please, anybody but Brendan Rogers!!!

  6. I want a manager who can improve the team we already have, so my preference would be for Jardim, I wouldnt mind Allegri, but whilst it hurts to say it, I cant really see why he would want to leave Juventus and come to Arsenal at the moment. Not so keen on Enrique, as John0711 said.

    1. Whoever coming in Arsena is gonna need main surgery, additional of one/two players in each department

  7. Allegri!, Allegedly!, Allegri!, Allegedly!, Allegri!, Legendary!, All will see!, Legendary!, All agree!.

  8. We need someone like jardim, promoting youth is very important for arsenal, very important, but we also need a manager to buy big players in, so max alleges or Enrique maybe the way forwards. For me though Nagglesman or Jardim, or an unknown, we were successful with the last one. I don’t know what’s best, without champions league football, we may need a coach like allegri or Enrique to be able to attract the kind of players we need to get back where we should be.. Let’s face it, are the best players going to come to arsenal for a lesser known manager, I dout that.? So my conclusion is i don’t really know what’s best, but let’s just prey we’re successful with whomever it is. Thank you Mr Wenger, thank you for the beautiful game, so many brilliant memories

  9. FOR OUR NEW MANAGER

I don’t think our players are all that bad. It is because Wenger failed to address the most significant link on the field of play – Defensive Midfield. This put a hell of pressure on the defence. If the defenders have worked for 89 minutes and switched off for a minute and we got scored and lost or drew from a winning position, all their efforts would’ve been in vain as far as fans are concerned.
Chelsea have Kante. Even ordinary Spurs have Wanyama and Sissoko. Ours have been make-shift since the era of Vierra.

Apart from that get also a couple of Defenders. Kalidou Koulibali of Napoli is a jewel in defence. He will pair well with Koscienly while we ease Mavpronas into the system gradually.

Our striking prowess is superb now.

Maybe if we can get another pacy winger- (not wing back) especially from the left.

Let Wilshere leave and get another German talent in the Midfield. Germans are serious minded and joy-to-watch players in the Midfield. I love Jack, but we should not condone 3 to 4 injury-prone players in a single team. This is like writing a letter to depletion.

Finally, let’s see if Cazorla can still cut something for us. Each time I remember that FA cup final free kick that gave us 3-1 boost and clawed us back to the game, I felt pained for what we’ve lost due to his injuries. Cazorla is a beauty to watch. Little Otter.

    1. Agree, but in defence Mert gone, Kozy gone and we need Mustafi/Nacho replecement and probanly Bellerin competition but if he wants to go to Barca/Juve/Man U and City let him go
Maitland Niles need an opportunity in centre MId probably another proper DM keep Mavsporanos who remind me of Varane a little bit came through same age and keep chambers/holding bring in Cech,Ozil,Welbeck, Wilshire replacement we should be up there ready to go

  10. If we are to address our biggest flaw its our defensive duties & having the players to actually defend properly as a unit. Enrique enhirited a WC squad that most managers would win big with so Allegri could be the man to do that to let the awesome attacking players in Aubameyang, Lacazette, Ozil & Mhikitarian to their jobs in scoring & creating.

At Juve they have the same sort of structure as what we are moving onto for next manager with the same sort of budget to work with. He has them as a solid unit at the back form CM/CDM to GK working as one to allow the attacking players to their jobs & we have a pretty good forward line.

If Allegri comes to Arsenal, adds a few signings he knows he needs in the squad, drills them defensivly as one then we could have a platform to springbiars from to a bright future at the club.

  11. Get players in alongside Wilshire or as well as, wingers are needed, defence x two, holding mf, keeper desperate.

  12. Allegri, jardim or tuchel the only good manager for me. We have good defenders but no leader who organises the defence on the pitch so we need a coach who can drill some discipline. Arsene was a great attacking coach but bad in coaching defending. The players have learned from an expressive, creative and free-roaming attacking football from wenger now with a good defensive coach fixing the defense we should be much better

  13. It’s really not that hard to find the players we need, sell mustafi, Koscielny, cech, Welbeck, wilshere, carzola (cries)

Sign De vrij (free), Johnny Evans (3m), Shaqiri (10-15m), Butland (10m), Ndidiye (25m), Fabinho (40m), Meyers free

    1st team
    Butland
    Bellerin De Vrij Evans/Mavropanas kolsinac
    Fabinho Ramsey
    Ozil
    Myhki Laca Aubemayang

    2nd team

    Ospina
    AMN chambers Holding Monreal
    Ndidiye iwobi Meyer
    Nelson Nketiah Shaqiri

Spent barely any money when U factor in cash generated from player sales, squad probs gets us into champions league, replaced the English players and none of these players are unattainable. Would prefer to sell Ozil for someone more diverse and with more energy & passion. Nabil fekir would be my choice. 350,000 a week for Ozil is criminal imo

      1. HAHAHA @John0711 we’ve seen worse at Arsenal for a lot more, he’s still a decent player and we’ve got to come with grips, we’re the weakest of the big boys, no trophy, no champions league football just history. :’-(, Ideally I would want koulibaly but just idealistically we can get Johnny Evans

    1. I am with you on Fekir mate there are rumors liverpool want him i wont be surprised they seems to have a very good scouting network – also Forsberg from Leipszig will be great additional.

    2. arsenal will do better in 4-1-3-2 formation

      1st team
      chech
      Bellerin chambers Mavropanas kolsinac
      Fabinho
      Myhki ozill ramsay
      Aubemayang laca

      2nd team
      ospina
      AMN kos Holding Monreal
      elneny
      jack iwobi Willock
      weback perez

    1. Total football with right players/balance he knows what kind of players he needs with reasonable price – he doesnt force kids in 1st 11 he just buys players who are ready to hit a ground running

    1. Ever the realist thank God Phil . Some folk don’t seem to care about winning matches and trophies as long as we play expansive and usually therefore, LOSING football. Think what a dip into the distant past it will be to have a man in charge who actually EVEN KNOWS that defence is a crucial part of any winning team. I am just only just old enough to remember when we actually HAD A DEFENCE. And I was at school with Fred Flintstone. Ya ba dub a doo! Allegri all day long for me. But I very much doubt he or Enrique either will accept not having Wenger like total control. A difficult balance for the club, as any top man worth his salt will always want to make the key decisions, BUT we cannot afford another one man run organisation as under WENGER.

      1. I LOVE WINNIG AND I ALSO WANTED WENGER OUT BUT IWAS JUST ASKING WHAT KIND OF FOOTBALL BSE I WATCHED THEIR CL GAME VS REAL MADRID AND IT WAS NOT BORING AT ALL THEY WERE ONLY ROBBED WITH PENALTY

        1. Okiror-I wasn’t being facetious at all.Juve have dominated Italian football for the last seven years.Serie A is as you know nothing like the Premiership as it is more tactically produced as has always been the way with Italian Football.Bur Allegri likes attacking football and has found a balance that has made the Club very competitive in Europe as that result in Madrid clearly proved.Whoever takes over will soon realise the EPL is totally different to any League they have ever managed in and they will have two games a week to contend with throughout a season that flies by.IF it is Allegri you can be sure he will start sorting out the defence and midfield as a priority. That doesn’t make him a defensive Coach but he will know that is where our problems have been over the last few seasons and if that gets sorted quickly then with the attacking power we have will soon make us a more rigid team.
Tactically the way he turned the Spuds over at Wembley and then almost achieving the impossible in Madrid you know this is someone who knows how to set teams up to get results.
          Hope that helps you

      2. Very few fans on here seem to remember the pre-Wenger era. Our defence under George Graham was something else on a different planet

  14. GK – Leno
    CB – Monalos
    CDM – Fabinho or Jorginho

    Manager/Assistant – Allegri, ???

Niles, Nketiah, Mavraponas, Nelson, Iwobi & Chambers, Holding the youngsters in the squad.

    Wishere & Ramsey new deals
Santi, Per, Ospina, Jenko, Campbell, Perez Gone.
Koss is done, Xhaka Sold, both need replaced.
    Cech no2, Elneny back up.

Max Meyer in for Free for Santi.
Width, Try & get Shaqiri (perez, campbell wages)
If Ozil has to go then go all out for Fekir.

    1. Fabinho for DM
Jorginho play maker – Carzola replacement
      Nabil Fekir – Ozil replacement
Defence – Manolas and Socratis for CB
that will be a good backbone

          1. Forsberg, Mahrez and Fekir one of em or all of em will be in Arsena team next season. thats my feelings! Welbeck, Ozil will be sold

            1. Enagic, I agree and also Arsenal have been scouting Max Meyer for some time. Forsberg and Meyer are seen as potential replacements for Santi Cazola; an issue Wenger failed to adress.

    2. To have a player like Jenkinson that tells it all something was not done right – he cant dribble, cant pass and cant shoot

  15. Anyone who wants Evans should be immediately tazered hes at least 31 Utd didn’t want him and he was average at West Brom ?

  16. Both Allegri and Enrique would do for me. In fact, I think we should be very happy, if big names like that want to become our manager, where we are right now.

  17. Doubt Arsenal will be able to get Allegri but that kid on ArsenalfanTV he might have his facts fingercrossed

    1. And dont think understand football game either you are just of those people “get a tall strong DM who can break other players’ legs type”

  18. Allegri plays attracting football as well and he is more determined and decipline more than Wenger and he’s a winner, as for those of u talking abt what kind of style he play, who cares abt style, what we need is more ambitious manager who can win us trophies and that’s allegri. The board shud make this right and do all it take to bring in a quality manager cus we wouldn’t like to end up like man u

  19. I dont care as long as we play 4-4-2 with a new keeper, new defender and Captain Jack

  20. Allegri is a perfect fit for arsenal….. will organize defence well keep disciple at the back also will play attacking game at the same time all in all he will keep a balance between defence and attack…

  21. Allegri is the right man for Arsenal, tactically he’s good at building defense.Arsenal lack of defensive DM for the past ten (10)years.
