Arsenal and Wenger sticking to the script every year

Arsenal crumble under pressure, fans fight again, so Arsene? by Konstantin

Well I can’t say I didn’t expect this. Defeats at Arsenal always come by two, but you know what hurts more than the abuse, the finger pointing, the Arsenal fans fighting themselves and so on? It’s all happened before.

It has happened every year on repeat! I mean Arsene man, I think you have earned far too much money off of Arsenal, it’s time to pack your bags man. The looks on players faces were terrible. They screamed weakness. I am uncertain what has to happen in order for Arsene to leave?

The board is so in love with him, he could stay for another 10 years if he likes. February, the shortest month of the year and the one where Arsenal always leave the Champions league and the title race. One of the two is confirmed, the other will be in Munich soon.

We need a better manager. We need someone who would add discipline to this side. Someone who can turn around a game going bad and earn his money at half time. This is not Arsene and I’ve spoken about it too many times. The players showed no desire either, but everything right now is brought by Arsene and he has to take responsibility.

If I don’t do my job, I’d get fired. What about Arsene? People here were slating me for being realistic and speaking of heart and past experience. Well sadly I was correct again and believe me just as every other Arsenal fan I’d like us to do better, but with this manager it will not happen. We’ve given him chances and it hasn’t worked out. It won’t work out now either.

  1. Yes, but for the board he IS doing his job – 4th place consistency.

We know that’s mediocre, but he/they don’t give a crap.

  2. Wenger only drops his favourite players when top 4 is at stake. He did it last season as well don’t forget.

  3. i’m tired always writing the the same for the last years. Arsene is lucky that he won us the fa cup two years ago, other wise he would have left us in peace. he’s got the blessings of the board. do they love the club or the money> = gooner for ever

  4. 4 th is at risk this yr, said it in october, say it now, last yr was the yr to win the league… and this yr, spuds goes above us, then we finally see how much capital wenger has… kroenke has unlimited funds, he is building a billion dollar stadium in LA, don’t think he sits back at 5th or 6th place…

  5. Other football fans always make fun of us. No wonder the media picks on us simply because it’s been long we won the league and we always fumble when it matters most.

I remember when we were top of the league this season, a friend (Manchester United fan) said don’t worry Its not Nov or Feb yet. Then I got the message instantly.

We dont play attractive football anymore….We used to be the most entertaining team in England but for me, not anymore. We struggle alot even when we win games.

A friend came to visit me after the game on Saturday with an Arsenal Jersey (I didn’t see the game).. He was pissed. I said well-done for rocking the jersey, he replied.. Arsenal and the Jersey ain’t the problem Wenger and board are the major problem.

I know someday… We will get our Arsenal back.

Is Wenger a great manager? Of course yes.

Do we need transition and a bit of fresh air? Yes.. ,it has come to that.

#I am tired of Same script different year.

  6. Wenger isn’t going anywhere, he will sign the two year extension that’s been offered to him and then supposedly help out with finding a suitable replacement… to er ?? replace him, of course.
Hopefully he does a better job than what SAF did with Utd ?

  7. Another WOB echochamber
If you look at the big picture then you have to take into account the support Wenger gets and how that is also lacking, swapping the manager will not fix issues with the board and the clubs goals for the majority owner.

Gazidis has cost us a few transfers and not great, he is getting better though.
Our majority share holder holds very little passion for the football club with the history that comes with it, the guy who owns walmart isn’t exaclty known for doing the right thing over profit.

Wenger is far from perfect, I think he is tactically restricted and a bit fearful at making subs when needed BUT the guy can develop some great talent and he has (IMO) the right footballing philosophy.

It isn’t all his fault yet he isn’t blameless, I would hope though that us fans would be smart enough to know this and also complain about the other areas instead of lumping it all on Wengers shoulder like a bunch of idiots…

  8. “If I don’t do my job, I’d get fired. What about Arsene?” – but that’s the thing, Konstantin, according to the owner and the board, he IS doing his job. You can whine and moan all you want, but nothing will change. Wenger does exactly what he’s supposed to do, and he does it well. If his objectives change from top 4 to “win the title in 2 years or you’re gone”, guess what, he’ll win the title in 2 years, I have no doubt about it. All I can say is beware what you wish for. We’ve all seen what happened to ManU after Fergie left. Most of you lot here were screaming for Klopp to replace Wenger. How is Pool doing these days? So no matter how you look at it, AW is still a top coach, respected and sought after by others, but for me, personally, his biggest negative is insisting on playing his favorites, and sometimes out of their natural positions. He’s learning though. Gibbs, Ox, Wilshere, Theo are no longer untouchables. The only one left is Ramsey, and I think after the Watford game he lost his job. We shall see how this season pans out. Yes, we’re out of a title race, but keep in mind that Chelsea don’t have to deal with Europe (just like Leicester last season), so it’s easier for them. We can still finish the league in a respectable 2nd or 3rd place, and win FA Cup. And if we manage to get something out of Bayern, I think not all hope will be lost. People keep forgetting that Conte, Mourinho, and Pep all have virtually unlimited budgets. Give Arsene what they have, and he’ll be right there in the mix. So next time, before you start slating our manager again, think about that.

  9. Just want to make another quick point here. I definitely blame Wenger for Watford’s loss (complacency, not starting the right players, and not adjusting tactically quick enough), but I don’t blame him for Chelsea’s loss. I think he put up his best (or close to that) starting XI, and most were happy to see Sanchez leading the line again. However, between a goal that should have been disallowed, and a pathetic display by most of our guys (Cech, Coquelin, Mustafi, Koscielny, and yes, Alexis himself), I don’t think Wenger should take all responsibility for the loss. We created some good chances, and if Coq and our defenders did their job, the outcome of the game could’ve been a lot different.
