Arsenal boss Wenger hoping for quick return for Sead Kolasinac

Sead Kolasinac limped off during Arsenal’s win over Swansea today but Arsene Wenger is hoping he is fit to return as early as next week.

The Bosnian international has been an immediate hit in North London since joining on a free transfer this summer, and will be a huge miss should he fall foul of injury.

Sead was taken off during the win over Swansea this afternoon, but Arsene Wenger isn’t worried about an extended absence.

He said; “It’s his hip. He had that before but he came back.

“We hope to get him ready (for Manchester City next weekend).”

Wenger also added that he is very happy with his summer signing, claiming he has already shown the qualities that he brings to our side.

Arsene added: “He has the qualities that suit his position as a wing back.

“He has absolute body power in his game that is needed in the Premier League.”

“it’s just down to quality. I believe that since he has arrived he has convinced everyone that he is a good signing.

“When you see the quality of performance, you see there are some good deals out there.”

Kolasinac has been tremendous since arriving this summer, and is quickly becoming one of my favourite Arsenal players. The defender brings real fight and guile to our side and is already getting a reputation as a no-nonsense type.

Sead would be a huge loss if he was to miss the anticipated trip to Manchester City next weekend, where we will be hoping to bless the Premier League leaders with their first loss of the Premier League campaign.

Do we have plenty of cover for Kolasinac? Is he contender for Premier League signing of the season?

  1. Getting such a player for free….hmmm….
Anyway, he can’t remain consistent and not be the signing of the season.

  2. It is the backs that are the worry and where we need to strengthen. Bellerin’s performances seem to mirror the quality of his haircuts, yes he did hit the bar, but he was responsible for their goal, and is about 60% of where he was at this point last year. I don’t think we can have both Kos and Per on the field, as Kos seemed to be physically suffering, and if Per is playing, he needs fully fit left and right backs – maybe Mustafi might return firing on all cylinders, but it is only Sead and Nacho who seem to be fully fit (or at least were) at the moment, and they both play on the left, leaving us vulnerable on the right with Kos and Bell.

  3. Kolsanic was one of the Bundesliga’s TOP LB’s last season and we got him on a Free transfer.
For all Wenger’s failings this past summer (ie not completing Lemar transfer, not getting a top Central midfielder box to box and/or defensive midfielder, another top center back after selling Gabriel) , I will admit that this was an awesome signing by Wenger. Kolsanic may even turn out to be a better signing than even Lacazette.

Kolsanic can play LB if we go back to 4 at the back. But Kolsanic LWB, Bellerin RWB And Mustafi/Koscielny/Monreal Center Backs looks fine. Just wish we had a top defensive midfielder or central midfielder who is excellent defensively. We have been letting in too many goals

  4. I am tired of mentioning william cavalho’s name get into this arsenal team and you will see what he bring into our midfield power ‘calming effect precision delivery and acting as a perfect shield to our back 3 or 4 .but it seems i am talking to the wall not frugal wenger

    1. yes but he is also very slow and since wenger cannot use such players in the right way he will be isolated and outpaced in epl and fans will quickly turn on him. 3-4-3 doesnt require a specialist dm but rather one like kante a box to box with defensive qualities, able to carry the ball if others are man-marked and have recovery pace to track counter attacks. carvalho doesnt suit this style but he would be better in 4-2-3-1.
