Arsenal can and MUST take advantage of rivals’ woes

Despite a slow start to the season, Arsenal seem to have got away with it to a certain extent. Apart from Chelsea, none of our main Premier League rivals have really got it together either. So the Gunners have a great chance and all the encouragement needed to step up against Swansea and go into the international break just a point behind the reigning champions Man City.

City were awful today and lucky to get a point at QPR, just as Liverpool have lost it and Man United were lucky to scrape a home win against Crystal Palace. Louis van Gaal and his little boy striker will certainly not be coming to the Emirates with any form or confidence in a couple of weeks time.

Which is why Arsenal need a good performance and the points tomorrow. The performance is almost as important really, because with everyone else floundering, it looks like it is up to us to mount any sort of challenge to Jose Mourinho and Chelsea. At the minute they have no pressure but if Wenger can get the Gunners firing as key injured players like Giroud and Koscielny come back, maybe we can get them looking over their shoulders.

I know we have not been too great ourselves but there are signs and we have the players to get on a roll, just like we did last season. And it seems to me more like a golden opportunity rather than a pressure situation for the players. Now they just need to grab it!

We just need to start with hree points tomorrow…..

  1. Looking forward to this formation tomorrow

    _____Sergio Sanchez
    __OX Arteta Cazorla Walcott
    Gibbs Chambers Merts Bellerin
    ________Szczesny

    Good night folks :-).

  2. The more I listen to wenger lately I do think he’s feeling the pressure and he’s losing the players, we are hearing more and more there disapproval of the training, I’m getting hopeful he will either change or leave, one has to happen

  3. Lets just keep digging deep and getting 3 points by any means necessary! Even if it does mean winning ugly! Coyg!

  4. If it wasn’t for the home grown rule, I would love to see all English players out the door, bunch of spoilt brats if you ask me. Get some more players with some passion in the club.

  5. Starting later on at the liberty lets be focus gunners getting 3 points is vital! So lets keep pace with our rivals and get the job done against swansea! It wont be easy but we must fight and dig deep! Coyg!

  6. Except for tuesday’s breakdown i think arsenal has been on the up and has the article says we must take advantage when there is a slip up. We need to steady the ship again with two midfielders sitting in front the back four.
Some one needs to drum in Ramsay’s head he is not a forward, he can dictate the game from deep , with some occasional burst forward, but must also improve on his defensive work with flamini by his side, we need to ensure three points.
All of the regular suspects seem to be battling with injuries and up and down form except chelsea, their defense line has been healthy, unlike arsenal, manu and mancity getting the bug, their attacking line have suffered slightly but they have ample stand ins Drogba and Remy, when Costa is out and Ample amount of midfielders. Therefore i see chelsea being the most healthy and reaping the rewards
At some point in the season i figure Chelsea will be having the same difficulties as the others, that is why we will have to stay close to make sure when they fail we are ready to pounce.

I have no doubt arsenal can win the league, but it very much depends on what we do january again, we had an even greater opportunity last season to consolidate our position in the league , but due to the stubbornness of a stupid manager, and the neglect of so call share holders that opportunity was blown, we are even in a more difficult situation now and have to be praying and hoping for the slip up of those ahead of us

  7. “it looks like it is up to us to mount any sort of challenge to Jose Mourinho and Chelsea”.

Put away the crack pipe. The only surprise thus far this season has been City’s poor form, which is turning a two horse race into a on horse race. We have zero chance of catching Chelsea (I would say less than zero if it were mathematically possible). We dropped out of the title race the day the transfer window closed.

We are competing for 4th place (maybe 3rd) and the FA Cup. That it is all. And that deal was sealed while Wenger was having his audience with the Pope last August when he should have been signing defenders and a CDM.
