The odds on Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge joining Arsenal have plummeted apparently, with the forward believed to be unhappy with his current role.
The forward has become one of the most consistent goalscorers in the English game, when he is fit of course, but has seemingly failed to impress Jurgen Klopp at present.
Sturridge has been selected to feature in less than 100 match minutes in the opening four matches, although he still managed to pick up two goals after coming off the bench in the EFL Cup.
After being deployed out wide in the match, the striker sniped that he is not a wide player, saying: “I am a centre-forward.”
He added he was ready to play on the flank, but “that is not to say I am happy to do it.”
He was also overlooked to play in the crucial away tie with Tottenham Hotspur, highlighted by Divock Origi being brought onto the bench ahead of him, as the club looked to seal an away win, which they failed to do.
Arsenal have already brought in Lucas Perez to beef up our attack, but with Danny Welbeck ruled out until December at the earliest, and with Theo Walcott now insisting he wants to re-establish himself as a winger this year, there could still be room for another addition.
Alexis Sanchez has also operated as a makeshift centre forward, but failed to make his mark in the role, and should be kept in his preferred role.
Could we land a late move to bring in Sturridge? How much would Arsenal have to pay to persuade the Reds to consider a sale?

He would have been the perfect striker for us, if he had not been such an injury prone player.. 🙁

Am I the only one who thinks it will be good deal if we get him cheap? He is good striker and PL proven. Even if he plays half season, he can get us 15+ goals and when he is not playing then we can play Perez/Giroud.
I agree with Mall-Gooner, he’d be useful having whenever fit. He has his dads clinical finishing. In Europe as well as other big games it would be good to have someone who is quick and can finish. Last season he got hampered with injuries but before that he had a couple of full seasons. He might have a bit of an attitude problem though, and his price will not be cheap, so I don’t see us doing this one.
