Arsenal FA cup defence boosted by home draw with Burnley

There were a few better possible draws for Arsenal to get in the draw for the 4th round of the FA cup made today than Burnley, but let’s not get too greedy Gooners shall we? The draw has been pretty favourable for the Gunners without being against a club so far down the lower leagues that we can take it for granted.

Burnley are a Championship club but they were in the Premier League last season and they made a decent fist of staying up after a very slow start. So they have some very decent players and having kept their manager Sean Dyche they have a great team spirit and are very well organised.

They are currently sitting in one of the play-off positions in a very tough and competitive division and not only that, they beat the league leaders Middlesborough away from home in their own FA cup 3rd round clash, so by no means are The Claret’s going to be a pushover for Arsenal.

Having said that we do have the advantage of a home draw and being the holders and not having lost an FA cup match for almost three years you would have to make us strong favourites to take another step on the road to a historic three trophy wins in a row.

  1. The double is DEFINATELY on, if not the treble lol. So glad I fell in love with Bergkamp and not Hasselbank. COYG !!!!!

    1. its Like we never Learn…….. Calling our clash with burnley an “easier” fixture isn’t the wisest choice of words to use considering our attitude towards cheap games

burnley were in the EPL a season or two ago and understamds the system……they weren’t ere to do alot of good to the EPL, but were always there to wreck havoc and distraught teams chances

we gotta be wise and composed going into this game

we can beat em, that’s for sure!

  2. Happy with the home draw – would have liked for a few more premier teams to be picked against each other – but overall it was a decent draw for us.

  3. Would prefer to be knocked
out early as the EPL is the
    main mission. But all the
    other contenders are still in
so they too have to play
in these meaningless FA cup games.

    1. Spoken like someone who has no clue about the biggest and most historic domestic cup competition in the world.

  4. Cant complain
    Burnley and @ Home
We must not be complacent and underestimate them though
But i see us going through to 5th round

  5. The home draw is an Obvious advantage against any team,
Burnley are no mugs that’s for sure, Once again Chelsea get an easier passage into the next round.

Next up is the Scouser’s, no doubt that they will be parking their stolen Bus, minus the wheels of course! ??

  6. i agree with @ahappygunner i would have love to see few more epl teams clashes especially if the spuds win their replay also hoping for some of their players to get injured that would be a costly game(tiredness&injuries)!!!
