Arsenal face competition for French defender

Mapou Yanga-M’Biwa, the 23-year old Montpellier defender is currently the man most likely to join Arsenal if the rumour mill is to be believed. If he is in the sights of Arsene Wenger, however, he may be harder to acquire than first thought. With only a year of his contract with the French champions left, M’Biwa would be available at a very reasonable fee of around £7 million.

The problem that Arsenal could face is competition for his signature. Metro reports that Chelsea and Manchester City were, along with Arsenal, in France to watch the player at the weekend. Both Roberto Mancini and Roberto Di Matteo are keen to strengthen their defences, although Chelsea have already bought a new right back this summer.

Apparently Chelsea may be about to cash in on David Luiz, with Barcelona and Man City interested. M’Biwa is known to be a very capable and versatile player. He has appeared at centre back, right back and midfield for Montpellier. The French club do not want to sell one of their most reliable stars, who has been almost ever present in the first team since progressing from the youth system. They will try to maximise his price if they do sell, and the more clubs are interested, the better their bargaining position will be.

Perhaps Arsenal could try and look at two players who have proved their worth in the Premier League already? Marouane Fellaini and Hatem Ben Arfa have been cutting the mustard in the Prem for a few years now and wouldn’t need time to settle, which puts them ahead of M’Vila and Afellay in my opinion. The last central midfielder we bought from Everton on deadline day turned out alright, and I think Ben Arfa is an upgrade on Walcott. Still unsure over who I’d like up front though; the dream move would be Falcao, Muller would be awesome, Jovetic would be great and Llorente would be good. Any thoughts?

Fellaini is a dream. I would go run out and buy his shirt. I need to get me some Arsenal shirts. I’m glad I waited on Wilshere and never bought a he who must not be named shirt.

So many of us desires 2 see Arsenal sign more players before d transfer window closes without considering if d player wil fit into our style of play or not,e.g Park chu Young was bought hastenly because u of our impatience of d transefer window closing, now we’re at it again. On my own idea,I’ll wish wenger make his remaining dealings within d Premier League by bringing in Chiek Tiote,Baines, and retain Bendtner for d sriking role, then go foreign by bringing in Affellay on loan. With dat,we’re good 2 go!

3 days to go. Wenger must be really busy behind the scenes. I think we need 2 more players. I personally prefer another striker and DM, but I’m not sure why we would need to buy another CAM.

We should finally see Bendtner, Squillaci and maybe even Chamakh go (if we buy new cover). To be honest, I’d like to see Ramsey and Djourou join that list. I hate Ramsey with a passion. The idiot almost conceded a goal from losing possession in midfield again. He likes to f*ck around with the ball uselessly and has no direction in his game. I don’t know why he likes dribbling into defensive corners or the pitch. Bloody stupid! It’s about time fans woke up about Ramsey, the kid is NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO REPRESENT ARSENAL!

Eisfeld has continued his great form from preseason. He’s an up and coming player that deserves the space Ramsey is taking in the team. The kid has much better quality than Ramsey and oh man can he finish unlike the futile Welshman.

Aneke is another player that deserves to take Ramsey’s spot in the first team and before long he probably will. I’m expecting big things from Chuks next season.

Don’t know about you guys, but every time Ramsey touches the ball, my heart skips, then my brain sends a message to my mouth, then that message is highly audible to the sound of, “WHAT THE F*CK IS THAT SHIT C*NT!?”

Signing another defender? Why not signing Striker?
Michu (cost only 2 mil I guess) had bagged 3 goals. Our attacking force needs extra injection!

How come Sp*rs aren’t linked with him. They don’t seem to have a scouting network of their own so I thought they might have been interested in the latest players linked with Arsenal.
