Arsenal failed in bid to sign Juventus star? No alternative?

Reports in France are claiming that Arsenal failed in an attempt to sign Blaise Matuidi this summer. The midfielder joined Juventus in a reported £27.8 Million deal from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, but is claimed to have rejected ‘advances’ from Arsenal, Manchester United and Man City.

Upon his exit, PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi said: “I will always have great memories of Blaise’s six seasons with our club.

  1. Plenty of alternatives: Seri, Goretzka, Carvalho
Instead of Carvalho we could have tried Draxler or Mahrez

Wenger is clueless and inept at his job
He considers Welbeck to be on the same level as Lacazette and Giroud. Why else would he start him against Liverpool. If Wenger knew he would not get another Top attacker and CM then he should not have sold OX. We are weaker now then we were at our 4-0 loss to Liverpool because we sold them OX. Selling them OX is fine if we had got a replacement

We desperately needed a top CM. Other teams have Kante, Pogba, Matic, Wanyama, Gueye, Bakayoko, Gundogan. Xhaka, Coquelin, Ramsey, Eleny won’t do it. With Cazorla out we should have gone for Seri or Goretzka

    Wenger, Kroenke and Gazidas OUT

    1. How are we weaker without Ox? We are better of without Ox. Kolasinac is much better player in that position.

  2. Just found out that ATL are willling to do business with Chelsea with a deal involving Griezmann and Costa. With Chelsea agreeing to add cash to the deal.

That means that dream is also done and dusted even before it started

  3. The transfer window is CLOSED , it’s time to move on from who we could have bought and start concentrating on inspiring this team with some positive thinking . There is so much of negativity on Arsenal sites which then permeates through the ground to the players . We already have a PAST DUE manager and an inept board coupled with the media who are hellbent on destroying Arsenal with their negative publicity. So let’s try to uplift this team and all fellow Arsenal fans with some positive thinking . I dont condone Wengers management nor do I agree with the boards negligence , I just want the players that we have to do their best and not be adversely affected by the negativity radiating from us fans .

    1. The negativity arises from the Manager. He can’t organise a team, nor puts focus on defensive side of the game. It’s just attack and attack. We look absolutely clueless when we don’t have the ball.

      1. Yes , I know our manager is inept and no clue how to put together a winning team but we can’t compound the problem by spreading more negativity. When the home game begins have you ever wondered why Arsenal start so slowly? It’s because the anxiety of the fans is the handbrake that holds this team back . The moment there is a misplaced pass we get on the players backs , we make then nervous which leads to them playing safe passing sideways. Do you think Leicester would have won the league had they been supported by Arsenal fans ???? NEVER , they would not have the inspiration to find an extra gear or spurt of energy to score the winning goals or find the equalizer .

  4. The manager is deluded in asking CM (Ramsey) to continuously bomb forward at every opportunity. Henry asked Wenger about this, his reply was he wants Ramsey to play this way.

    1. …did he really? well sometimes i wish ramsey wud keep on bombing it out of the ground to somr other side. its his sub-standard performance particularly last season that cost us our CL place. the FAC only masked how badly he performed in the prem league

  5. Fed up with hearing about players we nearly signed, can we now give it a rest, the transfer window is over, can we just move on…..Also don’t want to see any articles about the January transfer window.

  6. Don’t believe the hype, I doubt we have ever been activity interest in hog the players the media suggest. The simply link us to players they think will fit there agenda and feel the communication gap left by the club, us fans get excited thinking we will sign the players being link with, never knowing if we actually looking to recruit them.

Suits the media, sells papers and leave us frustrated, don’t get work up about players that we may not have been 100% interested in, in this case the fella turned down a chance to come to a number of premiership clubs so unlikely we were (or he was) interested in coming to England
