Arsenal get Bellerin boost as contract now close to signing stage

There has been extensive Arsenal transfer rumours regarding the future of our young Spanish defender Hector Bellerin, with both Barcelona and Manchester City linked with a move to poach our talented right-back. despite the 21 year-old still having a long-term contract at the Emirates.

Last month, with this in mind, Arsene Wenger vowed to extend Hector’s contract even further, and with the promise of a substantial pay rise. Le Prof said: “He (Bellerin) has nearly three years to go, we always try to get the players to the [financial] level where we think they deserve to be.

“We will try to extend his contract, his long-term future is here.

“He has been absolutely fantastic. His first game was a nightmare. The season before he was at Watford where he didn’t play. His progress has been brilliant because he has absolutely top mental strength.”

“He is at a team that meets his needs and values. He came at a very young age. He is an Arsenal player.”

Now it seems that the contract negotiations have been going well, and Bellerin’s agent has now revealed that there has been a breakthrough in the talks, and Wenger is close to getting the desired result.

“We are speaking and are now a lot closer than we were two weeks ago. In a normal situation he will sign,” the agent Albert Botines told The Guardian.

“Héctor is very happy at Arsenal. This would be the fourth time he has signed a new contract at the club and it is clear he has made good progress.”

So hopefully this news will put any more rumours about Bellerin being put to bed for a few more years, and will also give the club a boost ahead of the crucial talks with Ozil and Sanchez as well…..
