Arsenal get transfer Green Light on perfect Ozil replacement

Arsenal fans are still waiting and hoping to hear from the club that two of our best players in Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have agreed to sign contract extensions to keep them in north London for years to come. In the meantime I think that Arsene Wenger and his backroom staff need to at least be thinking about which players we might be able to sign to replace them.

Even if both of our stars do commit their future to the Gunners, I still think that those are two key areas where Arsenal need to strengthen, not only to cover in case the Chilean or German inyernational picks up an injury (God forbid).

Being able to rest Alexis or Ozil every now would surely help to keep their legs fresh and their minds focused, as well as keeping them on their toes and fighting hard for their places in the first team. Finding players who could do this is not easy of course, so the news reported by the Daily Mail that Real Madrid are offering James Rodriguez to clubs in the Premier League should have Wenger and Arsenal on red alert.

While the Colombian international is not a number 10 in exactly the same mould as Ozil, he is a class act and until he lost his way a bit in Spain he was one of the most sought after players in the world. Add to this the fact that his international teammate David Ospina (whose sister just happens to be married to James) is already at Arsenal should make Wenger’s task easier.

Do you think Arsenal should go for this Real Madrid star in January?

Bob.

  1. Overpriced and overhyped. Another player who performed well for a couple of games in a big tournament only to disappear into oblivion after that. And he’s not alone in that category. Moussa Sissoko is another (most recent) one that comes to mind.

  2. James is talented player with a great technique. However Jorge Mendes is his agent, so we can forget about him.

Any chance signing Marco Verratti or Lucas from PSG? They are quite packed with midfielders and wingers.

  3. How about this super kid called Ousmane Dembele.

Complete super talent. It takes just 10 minutes in a match for you to see his quality.

In fact, I prefer him to Aubameyang as he’s just 19 yo. He is just starting and his quality are not only just unfolding, but also has not lost his head.

  4. When will people wake up and see that signing players is not the solution.

Wenger is the problem – same lethargic performances, tired tactics and excuses.

Arsenal are going nowhere with him at the club…
