Arsenal go into next season full of hope after bossing Chelsea

Arsenal are so desperately in need of some good news after our usual mid-season collapse derailed our title aspirations. Now with our new formation the Gunners won 9 out of their last 10 matches including beating high-flyers Man City and Chelsea to lift the cup, and are now playing full of confidence.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain believes this run will give Arsenal a boost ahead of next season’s title chase but admits that the team need to make sure they perform like that for the whole of the next campaign. “When I look around that dressing room and training with the boys week-in, week-out… when we put in amazing performances then I know we are capable of that,” the Ox said.

“Throughout the whole season it’s a big ask but it’s one that we need to be up for and I think the teams in the league have been as strong as I have seen them right down the division, and that obviously makes it harder.

“So it is frustrating. We think we can do it for the whole season but we need to improve and we know that. Performances like Saturday, after the semi-final, in a big game against Chelsea shows what we can do.

“It has given a bit of momentum for the club and for the fans to go into next season full of hope and I hope we can have a better year next year.”

Hmm well we finished on a high last season with a last-day sneak past Tottenham to get second place, but we were nowhere near ready to roll on the first day of this season. Luckily there is no World Cup or Euro competition, and with our participation in the Europa League we should be playing earlier than all the other Top Six teams, who are all going to the Champions League.

All our players should be fit and raring to go from the start of the campaign, and with all our rivals facing tougher opponents in Europe than we will face, perhaps next year really could be our year?

  1. You did not boss us, we just did not show up . However we did our job …Wegner is safe and everyone loves him . And please beat Spuds and finish higher than them next season .

    1. What a plonker… we did our job? same kind of fan we have on here hoping Arsenal wouldnt win to get rid of Wenger and you are a Chelsea fan glad you didnt win… since when has supporting a football club been about anything other than winning ?!

    2. We didn’t let you’s play mate, player for player we won every battle in the first half, and the second wasn’t much different but for the first ten minutes. We dominated you’s, totally and utterly.

    3. Clearly you need to go to Specsavers because if that wasn’t a masterclass lesson in bossing then i don’t know what is.Arsenal bossed you lot the same way they did in EPL game at Emirates. You plastics were lucky it was only 1-0 at half time and not 4-0.Just admit you got owned.

  2. we allways go into the new season full of hope. it is what arsenal fans do best !. we are full of hope during the summer also , waiting for that transfer that never seems to happen . we listen to false promises from the goons upstairs and the clown in charge of our team . we can take on the world they all tell us , we can compete with the best they also say .and we can afford any player too they sing together.then august comes aroundand nothing seems to have changed .september is a hit or miss month , we win one , we lose one, we draw one . we are already playing catch up it seems . so i will be going into next season full of hope , it is the one time that we arsenal fans are allowed to live in hops . cannot wait for the new season to begin .however, if wenger is still in charge , then i will have to park my loyalty to our great club until the day he leaves or is kicked out. i cannot take one more day of him being in charge, let alone one more season . but i know i wont be missed, nobody will be missed, fans are replaceable , so roll on next season .i will just ignore all things arsenal until the great dictator leaves.

  3. My hope for Arsenal to win a tittle dies only when it’s mathematically impossible every season
OT Wenger commits to Arsenal forgives fans for their disgraceful critism,,according to the sky sports

    1. “Forgives fans” WTF?

How arrogant can you get? You’d never hear that from anybody else!

  4. We have the team that outplayed the champions the only problem with Arsenal is the negative atmosphere created by disgraceful fans every time we play badly.. even Barca doesn’t play well every game but fans always behind the team but they never say Enrique out its disgraceful

    1. You have to be joking… Seriously?

In the last few seasons Luis Enrique has won the League, Champion’s League, and loads of cups, including a double and a treble. Nine trophies in three years!!

If Arsene Wenger had done that in the last few years, not an Arsenal fan on the planet would be giving him a hard time. In fact we’d probably happily give him another 10 years of winning nothing but FA Cups before wanting him out!

  5. I think “Full of hope” is very unlikely for anybody that has a memory that is longer than one month!

IF we get quality new signings, don’t start playing catch-up in November, manage our injuries properly, have a good December transfer window if needed, don’t lose all our games in February 2018, don’t get battered in the Europa League, and are in-touch with the Premier League Leaders at the beginning of April 2018, then I will be “Full of Hope”.

    Not until then.

Been hopeful far too many times before, only for the usual mid-season collapse to happen, when the entire world outside Arsenal saw it coming a mile away.

  6. The Overrated Chelsea manager Conte failed to show how he is tactically better than Wenger on the FA cup final.I have iota of doubt that Wenger loves this club he chose it over his family.. live long wenger you have to stay

  7. huddersfield town welcome to premier league .
    amazing stuff

  8. Are you guys Arsenal fans. I have been supporting Arsenal since 1971. Remember. In sport there is no sense of entitlement. Be greatful for the club. Don’t listen to the media and pundits who have tried to destroy our players and club. We need to unite, stand together strong and get rid of all negativity as difficult as it might be. We have had a bad run , a bad Season but a wonderful finish with a FA cup trophy. We now start again. As we ha ve been found for the last +-100 years. The only club in the First division and premier league never to be relegated even before Arsene Wenger.

  9. Hope yes, however that will fade once wenger stays and spends very little and comes out with the usual BS
I predict a striker 50m at most and a right back
If this happens it will be the same season all over again

If I’m correct que bigger protests and more blame no the fans, the refs, our luck, the Thursday night games

  10. Ridiculous. We’ll get a reality check around the same time next season, just like every season. How easily Arsenal fans love to forget. Got carried away in November, and didn’t bother to be cautious. Every AFC fan should know by now that we stink Jan-March and then we scrap for whatever is left afterwards. It’s not good enough, and sadly it’s not going to change either.

  11. Before I can even think of Wenger, the most crucial changes i think we need are,
    Kroenke OUT
    Gazidis OUT
    Deadwood..(Campbell Gibbs Debuchy Elnenny Theodore)>>>>>

Then some worthy signings, preferably LWB, midfield workhorse, & mobile but clinical foward…Anyone to make the team better..
Early buys.. Big pre-season preparations with ENTIRE SQUAD..
