Arsenal handed TRIPLE injury boost as EPL race heats up

Even though it looks like Arsenal have gotten over the recent deep in form and results, while managing to minimise the damage that the nasty month of November often inflicts, the task of winning the Premier League still looks like it will be a very tough one.

Chelsea may be riding their luck but under the new manager Antonio Conte they seem to have got their fight and spirit back and look like being the team to beat. Man City may be struggling right now but we all know just what they can do once they get a run going again.

Liverpool are likely to bounce straight back from the Bournemouth loss and even Tottenham are getting back to the form of last season and are not too far behind Arsenal.

So any help that Arsene Wenger can get in his quest to reclaim the EPL trophy is very welcome, so the news that three Arsenal stars are back in training this week after recovering from their respective injury problems is very welcome indeed.

The players in question, reported by The Mirror, are Hector Bellerin, Olivier Giroud and Per Mertesacker and although you might think that only the Spanish right back will be an automatic first team starter we should not forget the importance of a strong squad that allows the boss to rotate and keep his key men fresh and fit.

We have also seen already this season how much a strong substitutes bench can be worth, especially with the big French striker and his late goals. He is likely to be the first of the three back in action and as he has only been out for a week or so it could be as soon as this week in the Champions League. Bellerin should not be too far behind and the sooner the better with neither Gabriel or Jenkinson being anywhere near as good.

Our BFG will take longer as he has been out since before the start of the season but he may have an important part to play once he is match fit, so I reckon this triple injury boost is fantastic news for Arsenal. Will a smaller injury list be the key to Arsenal beating Chelsea and the rest to the title this year?

  1. As it stands for me our best x1 is only really missing bellerin and cazorla, (not including coquelin’s suspension) Based on opta stats this is our best x1

    Cech
    Bellerin mustafi koscielny Monreal
    Coquelin Cazorla
    Walcott ozil chamberlain
    Alexis

You would find it hard to disagree with that, although everyone has their own ideas.

    Our next best x1 is
    Ospina
    Jenkinson Holding Gabriel Gibbs
    Elneny Xhaka
    Chamberlain Ramsey Iwobi
    Giroud

Again it’s difficult to argue as the likes of Mertesacker, Welbeck, perez, akpom, Adelaide, martinez, Debuchy, sanogo have either not played or hardly played.

When you actually look at that 2nd x1 all are fit to play in basel. Bellerin is in training and coquelin is suspended. So touch wood we should only have cazorla out for the weekend, from our first 22 players. Whilst, Mertesacker, perez adelaide and martinez are all training too. Add to that Niles, Bielik, zelalem and bola and we are pretty close to having 3 teams available,

  2. El neny will be gone in January, and with cazorla out we’ll need a CM to come in. Also a LW like draxler would be ideal and finally in the summer rodriguez (LB from wolfsburg)
