Will new formation give Arsenal a fighting chance against Chelsea?

Arsenal had many trials and tribulations earlier this year which saw us drop out of the title race, but we rallied with our usual late run and only just lost out on our usual Top Four Trophy. But that is not our only objective with the big FA Cup Final against Chelsea next week, so having 5 wins in a row will have given us a massive boost in confidence going into that match.

Hector Bellerin, who scored Arsenal’s opening goal yesterday, thinks our improvement is linked to our change of formation to 3-4-3. The Spaniard said yesterday: “Since we changed to the new system, things have been working really well,”

“It’s been a great run of form to build up the momentum and, even though it’s not got us Champions League football, at least we’re going to get to the FA Cup final with a great mood and environment in the dressing room. It was good to build up to it.”

It has the making of a great spectacle at Wembley next week. Arsenal have won 8 of their last 9 matches, and Chelsea has won 9 of their last 10 on their march to the League title. There is no doubt that Chelsea will be hot favourites to win, but with Arsenal’s momentum and and new formation, not to mention Wenger’s unequalled record in the FA Cup, it is far from a foregone conclusion….

  1. Really hope Mustafi and Gabriel are fit in time for the final, otherwise we might not have enough centre backs available to go with three at the back.

  2. Giroud, Perez and Welbeck are flops.
We should sell them replace them by giving new contract to Drogba 2.0 Yaya Sanogo 5 year contract 300k pw.
Takuma Asano is our new Aguero and Henry Onyekuru will score 400 goals in 5 seasons our new Henry??????

  3. We do not have a proper DM, striker and winger

Y is it so hard to sign 1?

Get Mbappe, bernado, bakayoko and lemar and we will be good

    1. Why would they leave Monaco and join a Europa league team which has zero chance of competing for any title????

  4. Wenger said he will sign 1-2 players next season. Kolasinac free and Onyekuru 6.8 m. Our transfer business is done.
Get ready for another great transfer window full of tears and heart break to Asenal fans. Next year will be even better with Alexis and Ozil gone??????

  5. maybe he is getting rid of some of the over paid players we still going to need players who is willing to come off the bench i think wenger have come to is senseses we need individual who can dribble with good technical skill so we don’t have to commit so many players in attack

  6. If I was Arsenal manager first thing I would do is sell overpaid and average players and sign 4 world class players CB, CM, Winger and Striker.
Ospina 50k, Debuchy 70k, Jenkinson 40 k, Mertesaker 90k, Gibbs 70k, Theo 130k, Wilshere 80k, Welbeck 70k its time to say good bye. We can easily save 600 k salary per week. Plus we can get
60-70m by selling these players which can be added to new signings next season.
We need to spend 150 m next season and buy the spine.

    1. the problem is those over paid players will not be welcomed anywhere with the wages they receive.. it’s always hard selling them coz our manager has always awarded high salaries to average players. even when they don’t play no more they can receive new contracts for doing nothing

    2. Why would overpaid average players leave the arsenal gravy train ?
Jenkinson highlighted the problem when he turned down a move to palace ffs…would not accept lower wages.
The only way is to run down their contracts…we seem to be good at that !
