Arsenal “hold all the cards” in striker transfer talks….

Most of the Arsenal transfer rumours lately seem to be about our contract rebels like Alexis Sanchez, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere, but Arsene Wenger’s biggest worry at the moment must be trying to offload the players that are no longer in his future plans.

One of these is the Spaniard Lucas Perez, who has clearly stated his wish to return to Deportivo La Coruña next season, but his hometown club have only put in an offer of 9m euros for the striker.

But now the agent of Perez has revealed that there are other offers on the table, with the Turkish giants Fenerbahce the most likely to win the race for his signature. “We are in talks with Fenerbahce but Arsene Wenger does not want a loan move,” his agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle revealed.

“Wenger wants €15m [£13.4m] for Lucas. He still has another three-years on his contract so Arsenal hold all the cards.

“Fenerbahce, two Spanish teams and a Bundesliga side have made an offer for Lucas.

“Fenerbahce are the most serious and we have been in talks for two months.”

This is the first time that Lovelle has told us that other clubs were even interested. In fact he told us just last week that he was desperate for Arsenal to accept the very low bid from Deportivo. So it looks like Arsenal are at least likely to get rid of one of their unwanted players. Now Wenger has to try and find buyers for others, like Jack Wilshere, Mathieu Debuchy, Kieran Gibbs, Calum Chambers and Carl Jenkinson. These may prove to be a bit more difficult….

    1. Agreed. We are short of defenders should we sell.

      Gabriel – injured (ligaments)
Koscielny – suspended + his back and achilles problems
Mertesacker – will retire next summer

I have 100 % faith in Holding and Mustafi. They have done well for us in their first season.

I just hope we start in a way that Lacazette can score, just to get his confidence up.

    2. i dont like lucas perez andd his agent.

      they talk too much.

i mean same thing happened to podolski but you never saw him giving interviews all the time complaining.

    3. Off topic slightly.. what do we think the knock on effects of Neymar joining PSG would be ? I dont think Barca want any of our players though Ozil name has been mentioned
This might also mean other players become available at other clubs for Arsenal
      very interesting next few weeks

    4. I just don’t understand why Wenger doesn’t like him. He is better than Elneny in a back 3 IMO.

  1. I’m tired of Perez and his agents moaning. He signed up to be a back up striker for much better wages than he was on. A year on, he is complaining at lack of chances. I rate the guy I really do, but the whingeing has got to stop. Why should we accept Deportivo low balling us? We paid €20m for him and they are offering just over €10m? (his agent said the offer was better than the €10m Nolito was sold for). We are going to need back up strikers again this season, and without a good enough offer, he should do what he signed up and is being paid to do.
Chambers stays- in him we have a ready made replacement for Mertesacker at the end of the season. In Holding, we have a Koscielny replacement in 2 seasons. Going by Mustafi, it will cost around £35m-£40m to replace those 2.

    1. I don’t think a backup would have gotten the no. 9 shirt and also be discontent on little playing time. I think you are just speculating. But I agree that we are not obligated to sell as he is under contract.

      1. In case you haven’t noticed our number 9 hasn’t meant anything for a while, he was a back up.

  2. This site is becoming more depressing that the transfer window. The AKB are back in force after disappearing towards the end of last season. I’m Arsenal through and through however, I’m not an idiot. We have basically the same team as last year the same flaws are there. We should expect the same results. I will be back to point out a few AKB towards the end of the season so don’t be shy boys and hide like you did this year

    1. Hah Johno711, the only depressing thing about this site is fans like you, who have doomed the club to failure before the season has even started. You are like trolls, hiding under the bridge waiting for a happy person to walk under your bridge so you can insult them.
If you support Arsenal, you should want them to win and cheer them whoever is playing, whoever is managing them., not trying to sow discontent at every opportunity.
Some of actually enjoy watching football!

      1. you are confusing fan with fanatic!! The spanish philosopher george santayana defined the latter as someone who “redoubles their effort when they have forgotten what the aim was” … which is a good description of the AKBs … he then went on to remind arsenal fans that the aim was winning epl and cl … which was pretty prescient as the man died in 1952!!!!!

        1. Il take that bet,
And mr G-rude I never said I wouldn’t support Arsenal I said I will be searching for you AKB when the ?Hits the fan AGAIN!!
Nice to see you all back though after last season

          1. G-rude is the first one…say anything negative about arsenal and he will eat you up….he just want to hear Arsenal will win Epl and CL haha

  3. If Ox rumours not to sign contract are true – I hope he just wants to see how much game time he gets this season

And if does- I think he will- will sign extension with Arsenal

I really can’t see any ligic in leaving- he’s just starting to become starter

  4. Perez has more skill in his left testicle than wellbad has in his entire body so how the frig was he bought as backup!

And people wonder why we don’t compete.

  5. All this talk if AKB, AOB, IDK, DIC, I’ll get you at the end of the season, my dads bigger than yours, grow up, big deal, does it matter whether someone wants AW in or out? The discussions are boring and just perpetuated so various “supporters” can be bloody rude to each other because of it. Can’t we all just support our team and then discuss the merits of the manager when the judgment day comes at the end of the season. I personally wanted him to be replaced at the end of last season but he is here and nothing anyone says will get rid of him this season, or the grotesque Kronke anytime soon.

  6. I can’t really understand some fans. It is either you love arsenal or you don’t. No individual should make anyone wish bad / failure for what he or she holds dear to his or her heart. There shouldn’t be anything like AKB or WOB anymore. We have all suffered enough from people hatred for Wenger. This is time to come together and fight our enemy. In every akb there is wob and every wob there is akb. I personally know that Arsene knows and also know that the game has passed him by and should have gone years ago. The odd success here and there won’t appease the fans. Even he winning EPL won’t do either.

    1. I really hope but will never believe Wenger can win the league in the next two years. But if he does I will build a statue of the man myself.

  7. I am still waiting for the big changes that were discussed last season – the “catalyst for change” that Gazidis eluded to.
Did anyone actually believe that having “him” in charge for another two years that anything was ever going to change?
And the reason we cannot get shot of dead wood like Walcott and Perez was because “he” paid them hugely undeserved salaries.
Everything once again points to the one person who is directly responsible for everything that is happening in Arsenal.
And who is rewarded for being a failure.
Another horrible season of failure awaits…

    1. I agree with most of what you have said, but describing Lucas Perez as “deadwood” given his performances for Arsenal when given the chance and his relatively low cost and wages is ridiculous and insulting.
He should see out his contract and be given the playing time if form deserves.
