Arsenal in talks to sign Turkish midfield starlet

Stuttgart youngster Berkay Ozcan has revealed that he and his representatives are in talks with Arsenal over a potential move.

The 19 year-old is currently trying to break into the Bundesliga side’s first-team, but is already being closely monitored by the Gunners, who appear keen to bring him to England.

The young midfielder admits that his priority is to end up at Arsenal in the future, but is unsure that right now is the time for him to make that jump.

Ozcan appears to have the right attitude to making a positive impact on the game, and he should concentrate on his football with Stuttgart, but it is easy to have your head turned when the big clubs come calling.

The youngster revealed that he has spoken to the Gunners over a possible move, and admits that the move is what he wants ‘ultimately’.

“My agent and I are in talks with Arsenal,” he said.

“Arsenal have been scouting me for the past two years and send representatives to watch my games.

“I am not sure if now is the right time to join Arsenal, it may be a bit early for me. I want to prove myself here and keep developing first.

“Ultimately, Arsenal is the club I want to join in the future. God willing I will achieve my goal.”

Ozcan adds that he has met Mesut Ozil in Germany on more than one occasion, saying:”When he comes to Germany, we quite often meet when the opportunity arises.

“We go to the same cafe, we ate together once, and my hair is like his!”

Would the youngster learn more in our ranks before breaking onto the first-team scene or should he stay in Stuttgart as he looks to progress in the game?

  1. I saw Ozcan’s YouTube video, he is good but nothing special. Jadon Sancho has better close control and movements, unfortunately he chose Dortmund.

I agree with @gbengress, Arsenal need established players. PSG and Barcelona fringe players are available in January.

I heard Arsenal is also interested in signing Barcelona’s Arnaiz. He would be a good signing to replace Sanchez or Ozil (if they leave).
