Debuchy unable to leave Arsenal due to injury!
Matthieu Debuchy has seemingly wanted a move away from Arsenal for at least the last year, especially more so this summer. However as of yet the Frenchman still hasn’t moved on from the Emirates and apparently it’s because he’s picked up a knock.
Debuchy complained at the start of last season that Wenger never gave him the chance to re-establish himself in the first team, after an injury saw Hector Bellerin take the Frenchman’s spot. A lack of playing time subsequently meant that Debuchy was sent out on loan. Now that he has returned, it was anticipated that it was only a matter of time before he found a new club, either on loan or on a permanent transfer, however at this current moment in time, Debuchy is still at Arsenal.
It has been revealed that despite previous interest from clubs in France and Turkey this summer, the main reason why Debuchy hasn’t been able to find a new club is because of his fitness. Debuchy is apparently carrying a calf problem and so he would be unlikely to pass any fitness tests/medicals.
Of course teams can still sign injured players, Arsene Wenger did with Kim Kallstrom, however it seems that nobody wants to take a chance on Debuchy and so perhaps Arsenal fans will have to endure his time at the club for just a little longer.

I say we keep him this year. We dont hve a good enough replacement for bellerin which is a worry. This season we should rotate wisely to keep form and our player fitness high.
I say the biggest reason is his wage.
He is on 70k/W, only top European teams and teams in EPL can afford that kind of wages for a full back. Unfortunately its clear debuchy is not fit enough for EPL and not good enough for top European teams.
Regardless of what people think, Wenger is usually great at signing the right players for Arsenal, but Debuchy is definitely a mistake in his book.
Don’t really think is a mistake. Debuchy was highly regarded when he came at AFC. His injury made him losing the first spot in the squad and Bellerin was there to take it. Frustration and lack of games took their toll with Debuchy. He was never the same player after that. Even at Bordeaux.
Signing him was not a mistake, Sagna went to City for free, Debuchy was his replacement both at Arsenal and in this national team as first choice RB. Add to that, he was already playing in the Prem, was fantastic for otherwise mediocre Newcastle team. Its just that he was genuinely unlucky with injuries and Bellerin coming up at the wrong time for him.
That window, I would say, was Wenger’s unluckiest, with him signing Debuchy, Chambers, Sanchez and Welbeck. Great names, but Sanchez apart, they have been pretty dismal. Hope to be proved wrong though by the English duo. COYG!!
No, Mr Wenger allowed Sagna to move to Manchester City on a free transfer then went and spend 12 million on transfer fee on Debuchy who is almost the same age as Sagna and plays an overall standard of football below Sagna.
Now his stuck with him there is no resale value for Debuchy, this will count as a complete misjudgement from Mr Wenger.
We needed a right back but signing of Debuchy was odd, most newcastle united fan don’t rate him for his defensive abilities, there are defiantly better target to go for than Debuchy.
Even thought Welbeck is pretty unlucky with injury but he produced some outstanding games and will get back to the first team when fit. Chambers is still very young so the verdict is not out yet.
Can’t we just give him away ……………….plus a free Parker Pen or something !
Its may be wise to keep debuchy since chambers is going on loan, jenkinson is just coming back from injury and that means we only have one right back bellerin, we are not a team that is fortunate with injury, therefore debuchy should stay.
