Arsenal keeper will leave for Italy while young striker signs first Pro contract

Arsenal have signed up the promising young striker Chuba Akpom now he is 17-years old. The talented teenager has been playing regular games with the under-21 team and scored on Monday after an assist by Jack Wilshere.

The young striker has been involved with the England youth teams and impressed at the under-17 Nordic tournament last year, scoring three goals. Hopefully another star of the future is now committed to being a Gunner.

Someone who did not sign a professional contract with their club and was snapped up by another side is Vito Mannone. Arsenal did pay some compensation to Atalanta but not a lot. Mannone has had many ups and downs in his young life but is finally getting, and taking, the chance to show that he can cut it in the Premier league.

It was nearly four years after he made his Arsenal debut in a pre-season friendly back in 2005 that Mannone made his full league debut as a Gunner. Occassional mistakes always seemed to overshadow his good performances and he spent a few periods out on loan to gain valuable experience.

The 24-year old keeper is feeling much better about himself and his career these days after getting a decent run due to Szczesny and Fabianski being out of action. He is determined to take the number one spot at Arsenal, but has revealed that his dream is to return to Italy one day and play for his boyhood team AC Milan and. of course, the Italian national side.

If Mannone leave i won’t cry ,because i think Szczesny and Fabianski are better than this Italian boy .
Even Martinez is better than him ,but he is unfortunately inexperienced .

good luck wiv your goals in life vito. unfortunately your not gonna make it as number 1 at the arsenal. shezza will be back between the sticks soon, and hopefully be there for a long time. you shud stick around for the ride, cos its gonna be one hell of a ride over the next 5 years with this squad. you;ve been a good stand in, but sorry son, thats all you will ever be at the emirates. If italy and ac is your dream, then chase it. you deserve it, and all us gooners wudnt wanna stop u, or hate u for it.

How to be a c$@t, rule no.1: tell the press how you hope to play for another club.

Seriously wtf are these statements coming from players? Fair enough if you’re 30yo wanting to return home to play out the last fee years of your career but when you’re just beginning to get first team action? You’re dumb as fk mannone, lost massive respect right now.

Off ya go then to Italy ya super dad chinned muppet!

Martinez is so solid; so is Shea! So we have a good crop of keepers waiting to be gradually eased up hence if Manone goes, I would wish him all the very best!

I recently watched a video on Mannone on and I didn’t know that the poor kid lost his father when he was only 16. It must have been so hard for him to juggle this emotional weight with the pressures of becoming a professional footballer. Respect to Mannone, but Szczesny is still my number 1.

Got love for Vito he’s a good lad.. But I he’s to leave, I don’t rate Fabianski so let’s allow him to move on and get I. Michael Vo to challenge The Szczesmeister! That way we’ll have Szczesny, Vorm, Martinez and Shea who I do rate highly.

VM, you can never be our No.1 keeper when your heart is somewhere else. Never. For one to be a great professional player, you should be able to think b4 you say anythink. When Jenkinson can say “National duties can wait” it means he has the team at heart. that guy can take the fullback position better than one who questionsis boss’ decission to sell wishes to be playing for another team while having a contract with another. Players needs to know the meaning of working through a contractual obligation.
