Arsenal Legends take on Milan with Henry, Bergkamp and more!

Arsenal Legends will be taking on Milan Glorie in September in what looks to be a star-studded event.

The North-London side have persuaded a number of the best players over the past two decades to participate in the match, which looks to be a must-watch for any hardcore Arsenal fan.

The notable absence from the side is most likely Patrick Vieira, but the majority of my personal favourite players are set to appear, including Marc Overmars, BBC’s Euro 2016 pundit Thierry Henry and AJax assistant manager Dennis Bergkamp.

The match-up is set to take place on September 3, which is on the weekend of a number of international fixtures, with England set to travel to Slovakia on September 4 in a World Cup qualifier.

Henry and Bergkamp will have to overcome the legendary duo of Paulo Maldini and Franco Baresi in the opposing defence, with Filippo Inzaghi and Cafu also confirmed for the Milan Glorie.

Maldini will captain their side, and has revealed his delight at returning to North-London, as he is anticipating a passionate crowd for the match. He said: ‘It will be a great pleasure to play again with my AC Milan team-mates at Emirates Stadium – one of the best stadiums in the world.

‘We are very excited to face such a great team of Arsenal legends and we look forward to putting on an entertaining and competitive match.

‘We know the fans in England are very passionate and we expect a great atmosphere in London. It is a privilege to be part of this match and raise money for charity’.

Tickets can be bought directly from the Arsenal.com website, with adult prices varying between £20-50 and under-16 and over-65s being available at half that price. Disabled prices are also available at discounted rates

    1. Both Overmars and Petit deserve to be called legends at Arsenal, they are not BIG legends like TH14 and Adams but any Arsenal fan who supported the team when they played will fondly remember them and will say that those players had something about them, something special.

I get goosebumps recalling Overmars and his pace or how Petit got Seaman to grow a ponytail XD

I agree with all of the above being called legends apart from Wiltord, all the others just bring back some great memories, could even be call legendary tales…

    2. Sorry I had to sign up just to respond to this…Overmars is a legend if only for the goal at Old Trafford which allowed us to go in and win the title, that season we done the double. Wiltord won us the league at Old Trafford a few years later, another double season. It’s a shame Mickey Thomas isn’t playing so I can defend him as well.
