Arsenal make offer for brilliant young Serie A winger (plus video)

The UK transfer window opens tomorrow but it would appear that Arsenal are trying hard to get their targets prepared before the World Cup starts interfering with transfer negotiations. The latest reports are that we have made a £26 million offer for the young Roma star Cengiz Under, who has had a massive impact since breaking into the first team this season and has come to the attention of many top European clubs.

The highly skilled right winger is only 20 years old but has already made 25 first team appearances for the Italian giants this season and has also scored 4 goals for the Turkey national team in just 8 appearances.

The rumours are saying that Arsenal are being rivalled for his signature by Monaco, but after checking out this scouting video of Under’s skills this season, surely our £26 million bid is just an opening gesture as he looks to be a certain star of the future. They are saying that Roma want 50 Million euros and that seems fair to me!

Have a look yourself and see what you think….

He looks like the real deal to me!

  1. NEVER, EVER, trust compilation videos of players. They can easily make Ramsey look like Zidane! I just hope there’s some truth in the Seri rumour, because he’s the type of player we desperately need.

    1. But compilation videos are the only highlight of anything Arsenal related for over a decade.

    2. Yup, even Xhaka looked dazzling on YouTube. Lacazette looked like a master dribbler on YouTube, but we didn’t see it in this season

Better watch how this kid plays against big teams in Serie A, before hyping him like Reiss Nelson in the past. Lemar was also hyped as an amazing winger because of his statistics, but Bernardo Silva was more effective than him in the field

    3. Allegri to Arsenal should be gone through and the man was even seen learning English. The move was actually imminent but negotiations broke down.

It’s now between the former RB Leipzig coach and Arteta.

        1. I think he really is an insider. I am sure that Arsenal have a secret agent on a computer somewhere in Ghana that knows everything that goes on at the club! You heard it here first!

    4. Is seri a defensive midfielder because having watched a couple of nice games, seri seems to me like a deeplying playmaker, very good vision, good passer, good technique, i feel he would be a good cazorla replacement but not as a defensive midfielder. What we desperately need is a DM more than any other in midfield, i don’t mind if they buy seri but if it stops them from buying a real DM, then no thanks. We can get meyer instead who is free and a similar type of player and still spend on a DM. We need a strong DM who is a good tackler, good pass interceptor and has a high work rate , we have lacked a world lass DM since gilberto. Coquelin was ok and could have been a second choice DM before he was sold. We should be trying for players like fabinho, danilo periera, nzonzi.

  2. If this rumour is true, it will give me comfort knowing we are looking for a speedy and skilful young winger. Whether this guy is the best out there at the moment and at that price is another thing.

Added to the winger should be 2 quality CB’s / a DM / a CM / GK / and most importantly an experienced and tactful Manager.

  3. So it has begun! Where all the ITK’s at? It was fun watching them be completely wrong all last summer. I’m going to use my reliable method of believing nothing unless Ornstein says it or it’s on Arsenal.com

    1. It’s now between Arteta and the just resigned Leipzig coach.Allegri was imminent and I saw the picture of him learning English. The deal broke down.

It’s now between Arteta and the just resigned Leipzig coach.

    1. Soyuncu done.
      Hradecky is the goalkeeper target.
The rest are not yet done but possibly Max Meyer may be close.

  4. I think Arsenal should get Nabil Fakir, he is a wonderful player with high skills. He can play as a winger or no 10 or even second striker. He is a wonderful finisher and can easily create killing passes. Fakir will perfectly help us to play three in the front, and with lacazet and Auba no defence could stand before us. Always acquiring Fakir will give us a chance to sell Ozil and invest money to support our defence.

    1. Agree on Fekir being Ozil’s replacement. Ozil has been staying for more than four years and had his chances with many strikers

Fekir could be a better no 10, because he works harder and not easily dispossessed like Ozil

      1. A 2 year loan deal is being discussed for Ousmane Dembele as he has already fallen out with the coach and wants to be with Aubameyang his close pal.The arrival of Griezmann makes this even more likely.

      2. Fekir is better 10 times than Ozil myself I mentioned that few times I hope Ozil new contract was a way to keep his value up when we decide to sell him and this from Roma is a must sign remember Salah? We really missed opportunities to sign a lot of good players once they end up somewhere we come with stupid allegation “I almost sign him”

      3. Ozil not going anywhere after signing that contract. Nobody in entire world would match his wages besides for a Chinese club. Should’ve let him go on a free, now we’re stuck with him until his contract expires. Guy will no resale value and clearly likes Arsenal because it’s so comfortable.

  5. Only his left shots are amazing

He is way below Adama Traore, in speed, skills and dribbling

Adama Traore is proven in English football and wrecked havoc in the six big Premier League teams’ defense:

    1. @ gotanidea
I will keep telling you forever that adama traore is not good enough for us. Because he is fast, can dribble and came from barca doesn’t make he good enough. He goals and assists stats is extremely poor for a player in the championship, his decision making and end product are poor. Please, how many goals and assists does he have this season in the championship? He reminds me of gervinho, fast dribbler until he reaches the front of the goal.

  6. The article is not about Arteta and we should support whoever the new manager is, unless he keeps giving us boring football shows

  7. We have needed fast, hard working, direct wide players for many years . Videos can be deceptive but I looked anyway and thought “WOW” !

    1. You are right and i think the perfect person for me is leon baily from bayern leverkusen. Check his performances and stats this season in the bundesliga and he works hard too. We could go with an older and more experienced option like draxler for the left wing.

    2. I agree, he’s quick, can dribble, has good feet, some lovely turns shown, doesn’t get knocked off the ball easily, doesn’t go down easily and can shoot.

As you say, videos can be deceptive, but they do give a good overview of a players capability, and I liked what I saw.

  8. The transfer madness has started. All I would like is to get our transfers done with a new manager in place before the World Cup starts and not on the final day of the window

    1. at least transfer window is shorter this season. But still, it’s Arsenal, so expect transfers to drag, and drag, and drag like always. Unless AW really was the one afraid to pull triggers on transfers and we see a new attitude. Doesn’t seem like new manager will have much of a say in who we target this summer.

  9. I would like to see jonjo shelve, that guy is a beast. He has improved his game under Benitez!!
