Arsenal MUST beat Liverpool – Our biggest rivals for Fourth Place

Next weeks game against Liverpool is an absolutely crucial game for Arsenal as they are playing the one team that I think is going to be our biggest rival for fourth place. Last year we lost out on our normal Champions League place simply because of our two games against Jurgen Klopp’s team. They beat us 4-3 at the beginning of the season, and beat us again 3-1 at Anfield. If we had drawn or won just one of those games we  wouldn’t be playing on Thursday night’s this season.

The ‘Pool destroyed us 4-0 at Anfield again at the beginning of this season, when Arsene Wenger inexplicably played Oxlade-Chamberlain, who we knew was on his way to Merseyside, and a very un-motivated Alexis Sanchez, who thought he was already going off to join Man City, with disastrous consequences.

So this next League game against Liverpool could again be the reason we don’t reach the Top Four and we need to take it extremely seriously. The Reds have recently hit top form and in fact their record from their last 12 games is looking like this.

Won 8
Drawn 4
Lost 0
Scored 37
Conceded 7
7 clean sheets

This is excellent form and they are scoring goals for fun and we simply cannot let them dominate us again or we can just give up on Fourth Place. They are one point and one place above us in the League so this is the ultimate six-pointer.

I’ll just leave you with Liverpool’s last five away games to show you why we should be very very worried….

Do you see why I’m worried?

  1. Arsenal biggest rival is Arsenal. For the past 4 straight games, our defenders make silly pass to other teams strikers and our attackers refuse to shoot. Our players just need to stop fooling around and stay focus and show some desire to win.

  2. They have become our bogey team over the past couple of years so it is very important that we beat them, not only to end this horrific run of results against them but also to boost our chances of a top 4 finish…..

  3. You are absolutely right; lose this game and we could kiss top four finish bye once again. But if all things go right, and that’s a big ‘if’ – the manager gets his team selection and tactics right, and the players come to play with zeal and spirit – we should be fine

  4. My deepest concerns….
    Lovren will get a header
Sallah will get an easy goal.
    Mane will get in behind
Coutinho will bend it from outside the box
Counter attacks will be frequent and our defenders will switch off and get caught out
We will play our way to their box then start passing sideways…
Did we can overcome the above then maybe there’s a chance of avoiding embarrassment
