If I am right about things then Arsenal fans will have to accept that the hoped for transfer of the talented young France international wide star Thomas Lemar will not be signing for the Gunners this summer, as his current club Monaco have already sold a few of their title winning team of last season and made a massive wedge of cash into the bargain.
So assuming that their business is done for the summer then Arsene Wenger needs to switch his focus from Lemar and find another transfer target who can offer us something similar. Step forward Riyad Mahrez, who is also well known for scoring goals and providing assists in a wide attacking role.
According to Arsenal transfer rumours the Algerian international is also keen to become an Arsenal player and is putting off a transfer offer from the Serie A club Roma in the hope of moving to north London. However, there is now a danger of Mahrez moving to the wrong bit of north London with our local rivals Tottenham said to be keen.
So with Metro also reporting that his current club Leicester City have now lowered their asking price from £50 million to £40 million, does Wenger need to move fast to secure this transfer ahead of the spuds?
Lemar should be done by the end of the week. forget Mahrez and go all out for Van Dyk
If Sanchez signs a new deal with Arsenal, we can forget Mahrez. As what the others have said, apparently Lemar is meant as a replacement for Cazorla.
Actually I’m not impressed with Lemar. I have seen how he plays for France against England, and he didn’t shine at all in that match.
Ideally, Sanchez extends his contract, we get a playmaker like Jean Seri and replace Ozil with Rafinha. I would like to see this roster in this season:

Dhaka didn’t show a midfield general or a world class defensive midfielder performance in the last season and in the pre-season. Arsenal should look for a defensive midfielder like Makalele, Marco Senna and Mascherano, if they want to dominate the midfield area.

I’m a Spurs supporter (cue booing) and I believe there is no chance that we are in for Mahrez. For a start, we just don’t spend that kind of cash (despite wasting £30m on Sissoko) and, secondly, Mahrez, undoubtedly a talent, acted the complete twat last season with Leicester and Pochettino will not entertain players like that, so no deal.

Personally I hope you don’t sign Lemar as it would certainly strengthen your team. I’m not so worried if you sign Mahrez.

This squad is too average to challenge. Wenger should spend some money and make it happen. We should stop with the top4 mentality and spend to create a team that can challenge for years to come. I’ve been an arsenal fan since 2006, that’s 11 years and no EPL trophy. It’s not ideal for a top club
this is a problem as many Arsenal fans have become so perhaps as a result of Invincibles etc and been drought years since then
however Arsenal had austere years due to paying off the stadium but we have seen an upturn in quality of players brought in plus 3 FA Cups in 4 years..
its a slow turnaround and I think we are in transition still.. remember there are also many clubs with pits of money to compete with now not just Man Utd like 10 years ago !

Is it just me or does anybody else think we should gazump the toffees bid and bring in gylfi sigurdson the free kick spcialist surely we can coax them with one or two squad players who’d be better running out for the swans. Never underestimate the quality of such players who im never surprised when he shows his quality scoring against teams like us.
All in all i’d prefer mahrez to lemar because this guy has experience over lemar in epl thus wenger would have ran fast to get him.secondly mahrez is also willing to play for the gunners which means he’d offer the whole of himself for arsenal.
