Arsenal must ignore their critics says Monreal

Nacho Monreal has probably got a different perspective to all his Arsenal team mates about the club, as he only signed for the Gunners at the end of January after an injury to Kieran Gibbs. The left bacl spent the first half of the season playing for Malaga in the Spanish Primera Liga, so probably knew nothing about the intense pressure that Arsene Wenger and his players were under earlier in the season.

It has been a turbulent season for Arsenal for various reasons, but Monreal seems a little surprised at how much the criticism can affect the players, and has advised his new team mates to pay no attention to it all and just concentrate on doing their jobs.

“It is logical that people talk because the situation has not been as it should be, but the players and club in general have to ensure that doesn’t affect us,” said Monreal.

“We have to use our energy for the matches. If you are thinking of what people are saying you are wasting that energy.
You have to concentrate on the next match.

“Every fixture now is a final we have to win. That has to be our mentality. I am sure we will put it right.”

These are sensible words from the Spaniard, and should be heeded by the fans as well as the players. We can be the club’s fiercest critics at times, which is understandable after eight years without a trophy. For the next nine games however, we should all be pulling together.

Gooners are right to have high expectations, because we should be right up there with the best teams in the Premier League and Europe. With the financial shackles off, we probably will be, but first we have to ensure qualification for next season’s Champions League and make sure the Spuds’ relentless overplaying of their abilities comes to nothing, yet again.

wenger has lost the plot. there seems wenger has got no hunger left.

giroud is realy a good hard working striker. he is great at link play and had walcott given him pass he would have atleast 5 more goals.

diaby is getting injured just by sitting home and having light diet.

thank god we have got monreal to cover gibbs.

i think the wilshere news of absent till season end seems true. hope not.

just 2 days to watch my arsenal after such a big gap.

Italian football agent Guido Di Domenico has revealed that Stevan Jovetic is set to join Arsenal in the summer and has already agreed terms on a move.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made Fiorentina ace Jovetic his top transfer target for next season, with the club keen to recruit a big name forward to help lead the line.

And according to respected Fifa agent, Di Domenico, the Gunners have already agreed terms to bring the 23-year-old to north London, after he snubbed interest from Juventus.

‘Jovetic was among the possible options for Juventus, but my information is that the boy has already given the go ahead to move to Arsenal,’ said Di Comenico.

‘He seems fascinated by their project.’

Monreal has only walked through the door and see’s everything roses, let’s see how he feels this time next year if once again Arsenal are in this same position with nothing to play for …It’s time now we seriously do something about this I am sick to death every year not winning anything.. someone has to make th changes otherwise what’s the use supporting a team that the owners don’t care about the supporters …

If the fans see the team putting in a 100% they will support them regardless of the result but too many times this year most of the team have not sweated blood that is what has upset the fans and that is what dictates the league position so if you want the fans behind you give it all you have got, that is all we want because then the club will win something no fan wants to have a go at his own team it is a last resort do you honestly think that if all the fans cheered and congratulated the team for being so bad wenger and the board would change their direction??? no it is only right that when they dont perform they are told so.

Constructive criticism is great for the team I think. Wenger must have to do it all the time.
