Arsenal must look UP in fight for top four!

This weekend has been a very good weekend for The Arsenal. We quite comfortably won the game against West Ham and Arsene Wenger was even able to rest a few players. But this is no time to rest on our laurels and it is important for the Gunners to try to look up and finish as high as possible in the table rather than worry about the chasing pack.

It looked like all our rivals were going to slip up. Unfortunately Man United won today., although it is always nice to see Tottenham lose. But that does mean that United are still biting at the heels for the race for the top four.

I still think that Arsenal are nailed on for a top four finish, however, we all have to worry about United now..

The worst thing that Arsenal players can do, is to start looking over their shoulders. What the players should be thinking is ‘how high can we actually finish in the table’. We should be hoping for Chelsea to have a proverbial wobble and if not, shouldn’t we be aspiring to the second spot this season?

Incentive is always better than fear, and Arsenal are now in the position, just one point behind second-placed Man City, when we really can look up rather than down.

  1. Top 4 is now looking like the least we can expect….finishing above united and city plus FA Cup would be a great season…..next season we aim for nothing less than the title

    1. One good sh*t about football is that anything can happen. Maureen thought she’s secured the title, prior to the game against Southampton, but again, this is England and no team plays to lose.

I’ve been told before that I talk in my dream and this might just be one of those times; but hey, I smell blood!!! Somehow, I have a feeling that something funny will happen to Chelsea along the way, but it’s up to us to seize our chances.

Top four battle is our thing, no one does it better than us, but by the grace of the Universe, I’m silently hoping for something more in the league.

    2. What I am thinking is we need a Manchester United that played like yesterday and is in top form. Same with Liverpool. These teams need to beat City and Chelsea. All we need to do is win our last 9 games and we can win the EPL.

It is good to see ManU keeping the pressure on us not to drop any points. This one is going down to the wire…..

  2. Maureenho has been trolling again, hope we can beat monaco and shove a bottle is his arse

  3. Remaining BPL Fixtures:

Arsenal: Newcastle, Liverpool, Burnley, Chelsea, Hull, Swansea, Manure, West Brom.

Chelsea: Hull, Stoke, QPR, Manure, Arsenal, Leicester, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, West Brom, Sunderland.

Man City: West Brom, Crystal Palace, Manure, West Ham, Aston Villa, Spurs, QPR, Swansea, Southampton.

Manure: Liverpool, Aston Villa, Man City, Chelsea, Everton, West Brom, Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Hull City.

From the above, Man United have the toughest run, but it will not be a walk in the park for any of the top four teams.

      1. United have HARD games though. You must be really bricking it Hafiz. Forget Liverpool, city, Chelsea and arsenal. Villa and Everton are hitting form and both have good dangerous players. Two teams no one wants to meet next I’m guessing.

Then you have two games you would expect united to win but have good managers who can get their team to give you a hard time. West from and crystal palace.

Hull I can see your team beating pretty much easily.

    1. Man city have the easiest run in, but seeing them losing to burnley makes u have the belief they could falter again. 3rd and the fa cup is an improvement on last season, but me another other 5000 heading to monaco still have belief!!!

    2. Not sure man utd will qualify…apart from the big guns…some games re always tricky…tony pulis westbrom nd alan pardew crystal palace…and man city don’t even need to play against big team to drop points.

I think arsenal is gonna end up in 2nd position, after the game against newscatle, we ve 3 away games(hull, burnley and manure) tricky but winnable wif our form…COGY

    3. Never wise to assume too much with the PL but I also noted that we have 3 or 4 teams that probably will have not much to play for – N’Castle, Hull, WB and Swansea. This can have a big effect on results at the end of a season. Conversely I see Chelsea, although it looks easy on paper, have relegation fodder QPR, Leicester and Sunderland – they should still win them but they will have a battle. I reckon we need either 6 wins or 5 wins and 3 draws to secure UCL qualification ie: 75 points.

  4. No!we shld also rest playerz to avoid them burning out..Sanchez fr example…talking abt Man united,we shld jst focus on our game.if we can win all our games,3rd is cemented.

  5. Just rip off the rear view mirror and focus on the road ahead. Second place is our target. Man$ity have invited us in and we should accept the invitation. We have the momentum and the squad to wrestle second place from them.

Not so long ago we were complaining about the lack of depth in our squad and how our bench was not intimidating. Generally we have that depth and our subs would walk into the first team of most EPL teams. This is our secret weapon.

  6. Monaco game is over…lets give the reserves a go…and rest the players for the next league game…

we should be focusing on the league….

    1. Its not over…lets give our best and see wat happens…if things not goin well then sub out top players to rest….but no ways should we give up without trying…otherwise wats the use of fyting for CL place and not playing your heart out to get further when you do have the chance.

  7. Big Gun, have the Gunners already played against Sunderland? > (rescheduled) I think the Gunners still have 9 games to play for a total 27 points. And that 27 points the Gunners MUST totally collects. There is no two way road about it. It is now only a one way traffic for the Gunners to drive on. No dropped points! Gunners, win all your remaining 9 Barclays Premier League games, and you guys are Champions.

    1. You are correct, the Sunderland game fixture is still pending, didn’t see it the first time around as it is right at the bottom of the fixtures. Either way we just need to take each game as they come and focus on the moment and on each individual opponent. Looking over our shoulder and worrying about every other team long the way will just make us loose focus.

  8. I AGREE IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE MANURE
PLAY WELL AND DRAW MOST OF THEIR GAMES ESPECIALLY AGAINST TEAMS VYING FOR A TOP 4 FOR WHILE WE KEEP ON WINNING OURS SURPASSING MAN SHITTY!!HOW GREAT WOULD THAT BE?LIVERPOOL GETTING DUMPED OF THE FA CUP,AM I DREAMING???PS:WELCOME LAURENT AKA THE BOSS!!
