Arsenal must move fast to stop Juventus’ Cazorla transfer swoop

Arsenal fans still have a couple of months to wait before the opening of the January transfer window and the usual stressful wait to see if Arsene Wenger is going to spend any more of the club’s huge cash reserves to strengthen the Arsenal playing squad.

Unless something is done in these two months, however, there could be some very bad news for us in January, with The Mirror reporting that the Serie A champions Juventus are looking to make a swoop for our Spanish international midfield star Santi Cazorla in the winter window.

And there would be little that the Gunners could do to fight off the interest from the Italian giants, as Cazorla would be free to sign a pre-contact agreement with them or any other club as his current contract is due to run out at the end of this season.

The little Spaniard may not be getting any younger, but at 31-years old there is plenty of life in his legs and he has been a key player in the middle of the pitch for us this season, highlighted by how much we missed his passing and creative skills in the draw with Middlesborough at the weekend.

Is it just me or have Arsenal already been remiss in not having already tied Cazorla up to a new deal? How bad would it be to lose the super Spaniard, and on a free transfer as well?

Bob.

  1. There’s only one santi and he’s ours.

INTERVIEWER: Arsene, which leg is cazorla?? Lefty or Righty??

WENGER: I don’t know actually, because what ever he can do with his left, he can also do with his right, so for me only him (santi) can answer that Question.

  2. We need to keep Cazorla, he is our best midfielder.

So Pep is chasing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sergio Agüero could be on his way out of Man City. This could be it my fellow Gooners. Sergio Agüero is the front man that will win us the league.

  3. I don’t understand why this hasn’t already been wrapped up. It would cost a lot for a replacement Santi, and as far as I can see, he is very loyal to the club, and a great influence on others, aside from his unique on field skill.

  4. I wonder why we haven’t renewed Santi’s contract yet …. Arsenal can be so annoyingly sluggish in doing the needful.

yea and hopefully Pep does an Eto’o ~ Zlatan deal for Aguero- Aubameyang but in this case he sells Aguero to Arsenal.

    Walcott-Aguero-Alexis and Ozil behind WAAO

with Alexis being freerole like Messi
Aguero the lethal front man like Suarez
Walcott pace (but no trickery) causing havoc on the wings like Neymar

  5. Cazorla said he is happy at arsenal and that if a contract is put on the table he will sign in a flash, that doesn’t sound like someone that is eager to leave.
Also wenger knows the importance of Santi, he will not make that mistake of selling one of his best player he won’t. There are so many things going on behind the scene that we don’t know I don’t think the mirror knows about arsenal plans for players they are just publishing articles to sell papers.
Cazorla will be given 2years extension because he is exceptional.
