Arsenal pinpoint move for £60M Alexis Sanchez replacement

Lyon forward Nabil Fekir is being eyed as the man to replace Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal.

The French international has been one of the best players in Europe so far this season, filling the goalscoring void left by the departure of Alexandre Lacazette this term,

The 24 year-old has clocked up 11 goals in 11 Ligue outings so far this term, and has been key in helping his side to win their last five matches in all competitions.

Fekir is now said to be under the watchful eye of a number of big clubs, including Barcelona, but it is Arsenal who are thought to be most advanced in their bid to land the Lyon star.

The Gunners are said to have lined up a £60 Million offer to bring the left-footed talent to North London, which they are hoping will see them beat their rivals to his signature, as they look to fill the upcoming departure of Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean is into the final year of his contract at the Emirates, and having tried to forge a move to Manchester City last summer, an exit before next season looks near-certain.

Sanchez brings fight, a winning attitude, goals and creativity to our side, and Fekir plays with a rare guile that would bring some fight into our squad, something which we would have lost next summer.

For me, Fekir would be a great option to replace the Chilean, in fact the best target I have heard in line as a possible replacement for Alexis, and I seriously hope the rumours prove true.

Is there a better realistic option out there to replace Alexis?

  1. I really hope this is true. Such a fantastic talent. I was really hoping we’d sign him before he got his long-term injury (15/16 but great to see him bounce back. Bit of a coup if we get this guy I think. Could play anywhere across the front 3 or in a no 10 role and he has a real eye for goal to go with his technical ability/creativity. Very good fit for Arsenal. Like I say really hope this is true. That said you won”t get much defending out of this guy and as such he’s similar to Ozil but at least he bags you goals too. Will probably remind most people of Cazorla.

  2. He sounds like a good signing if it happened. He can play forward and attacking midfielder. If Barcelona were interested in him, he can’t be that bad lol.
I’d be happy with any of these Fekir, Draxler, Lemar. BUT we need to replace Alexis and Ozil. Not just get 1 player who can play either role. Wenger could get cheap here and rely on players we already have. He has done it time after time

As usual, we can’t trust Wenger to do the right thing. Once in a while he does but we need at least 5 players to fix this team
    1. Alexis replacement
    2. Ozil replacement
    3. Cazorla replacement creative box to box
    4. Viera replacement lol Defensive/holding midfielder
    5. Top Centre Back or two
Wenger’s lack of sufficient signings has made our team lack enough quality. We are a mess.

    1. Vieira was NOT a DM.
He was a def minded B2B player, he got back and made the tough tackle but he then drove the ball forward and aided in the attack.
Cazorla may not make the bone crunching tackles that Vieira was great at but he was doing that role when partnering Cazorla and look how well it worked.
I can point to Ramsey as another player who did replace Vieira… but only for a few months. That season he started so well, scoring and defending while playing alongside Arteta. He got injured and since he hasn’t put in such a consistent def effort and that pains us fans.

Wenger has got AFC CM ticking a few times but like a dodgy car, it keeps stalling and costing us.

        Should have been

Cazorla may not make the bone crunching tackles that Vieira was great at but he was doing that role when partnering Coquelin and look how well it worked.

  3. if wenger gets Fekir, and sells Sanchez + Ozil in january, i will take everthing i have said about Wenger and the board back… until the end of the season that is 🙂

  4. wenger was a gud coach until he started fluctuating with his line-ups no wonder so many ve sudeenly become a better coach especially we the fans. Even if we get this fekir guy so many stil wldnt be satisfied when for a fact we re hving our never retiring coach up there stil dwindling things up with our xi. Hvnt watched him play b4 so i cant really say much abt him. Those you-tube videos can so destructive and deceiving atimes so dnt if i were you i wldnt embark on that journey either.

  5. I’ll take fekir for alexis and draxler for ozil. Both young, experienced and have a knack for the fantastic. Plus would cost the supposed 90m for lemar. People who think they dont track back dont realise that our front 3 in 3-4-3 does not Need to always track back unlike if we play 4-2-3-1.

  6. Fekir has stepped up again hasn’t he?
He looked great before his long term injury and afterwards all the focus went on Lacazette but I am glad to see Fakir performing again, always thought he was a talent.

Fekir would make a great signing IMO.

Use Alexis to finally get Rabiot who is a talented strong imposing CM with mobility. Heck, I would sweeten the deal to ensure he goes out the EPL by paying money and giving Alexis to PSG, enough so they can afford his wages without FFP sniffing around.

I would much prefer to see AFC drop down to 1 AM and have 2 CF, swap formation to 3412.

Giroud and Lacazette both at the same time?
    Lacazette and young EN?
    Giroud and EN?

Basically give young Eddie Nketiah(sp?) more of a chance XD

Oh and next season, if Bramall does well then M-Niles can cover Bellerin at RWB and we can spend our entire transfer kitty on a top CB and top GK… we need a top GK coach as well, we haven’t had one since Bob Wilson and it has shown. FlappiHandski looks better than Cech now, no point in buying a top GK if we will turn that player into a liability.

    1. Reason for M-Niles going to RWB would be to allow Nelson and Fekir to fight it out for the starting AM role.
