Arsenal player ratings from Leicester win – Monreal MOTM

If I was to have done these Arsenal player ratings last night then some of our players would have been getting the lowest scores I have ever given, especially Theo Walcott, but after sleeping on it, and watching again, I have calmed down a bit and taken into account the fatigue from the weekend and the difficulty of breaking down the Foxes. Most of the Gunners were still below par, though, and I have given the Man of the Match to Nacho Monreal who was strong throughout and whose late shot was deflected in for the winner.

Cech 7 – Fantastic save on a fairly trouble free night.

Gabriel 7.5 – Another strong and commanding display.

Koscielny 7 – Should have done better with header. Otherwise good.

Monreal 8 – Looked at home in new role and kept going to win it for Arsenal.

Bellerin 7 – Decent game down right but there was not much for him to aim at in the box.

Coquelin 6 – Some shoddy passing but also some good defensive work.

Xhaka 7 – Apart from a few terrible shots had a decent game. Passed well.

Gibbs 5 – Faded after good first half and had same problem as Bellerin.

Walcott 4 – Good footwork and shot saved was about all he did. Looked lost and short of confidence.

Alexis 4 – Hit the bar but otherwise an awful night for the Chilean. Had the excuse of fatigue though.

Ozil 6 – Put in a shift but it did not really happen for him.

subs:
Welbeck 6 – Tried to liven up his struggling team mates.

Giroud 6 – Put himself about and made Foxes worried.

Ramsey 4 – Still looking terribly out of form.

    Wenger ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

      1. Alexis only one s**t, he and Walcott were the two biggest s**ts out there. Bellerin should be up there not Gibbs, or at least with him.

“Is this what we’ve come to, a ratings system full of s**t, see who gets least amount of s**t.

        1. Yup and I was generous with Sanchez’s rating because his play acting was Oscar material ??

  4. OT:

    At first it was cute
    Then it became interesting
But now its getting weeeeee disturbing.

Yes Admin I am talking about all these Spuds joining our group. This used to be one place Gunners would come and mourn, cry, complain, and fantasize about transfers in peace (because you know we cant do this with our wife’s/ hubby for Arsenal Girl, lol).

This used to be our rehab. With NLD on the way, too many Spuds here for comfort.

  5. MOTM to Gabriel. Was immense in his tackles, especially to break up their counter attacks and then he had the game winning tackle on Okazaki in the last minute of the game on our 6 yard box

    1. Other than Mahrez turning him inside out in the first half and getting a clean shot at goal for his trouble, he prob was our most busiest CB, I wouldn’t swear on that though.

  6. It is the forward play that was truly poor but I don’t think any of our defenders really stood out as Leicester let us have the ball the entire game hoping to break similar in way to that city goal, or almost every goal they score. I think we did put some good energy into it but Leicester had the ball very far and few between, we kept possession well other than Alexis and Bellerin or until we tried to make the final ball. I’d have to say Xhaka is easily the man of the match, def midfield done as much as any CB done defensively speaking, our players in the end kept looking to Xhaka and he didn’t disappoint to often with his creativity.

  7. the best number ten in the world is not getting any rave reviews . does his fans still believe in him i am genuinely wondering ?.could we have our money back on him please ?, 42 millions of promise. but maybe he will be good next year, it takes a while to adjust to the pace of the premier league , hahahahahahahaha.

    1. Man U paid what £82 mil on pogba. I think we got a bargain
Although I don’t rate Ozil as much as some.
