Which Arsenal players do you think will stay or go this summer?

Many of our Arsenal players have been linked with exits this summer, so I thought I’d give a breakdown on who I think will be staying, and how our exit-dealings should pan out.

Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini are three who are all set to leave at the end of their contracts, and all deserve a decent send off this summer, but they will not all feature in the remaining two league fixtures, although I expect the former two to at least sit on the bench for the Aston Villa tie, before getting a proper goodbye from the fans at the end of the game.

Kieran Gibbs also appears to be set for an exit in the close-season, having lost the challenge with Nacho Monreal for a first-team role. Talk of a move to Manchester United are simply untrue, but we should have no problem with him joining another Premier League side who are not a threat to us (there is talk of Newcastle, but they may not stay up).

Olivier Giroud is another who could go, but for him to leave we would have to have an out-and-out striker lined up to replace him. There is much talk of Higuain currently, always talk about Benzema, but for the time being, none of them look likely to join us. I would take Lacazette from Lyon but there is no telling how quickly he could settle in the Premier League.

Theo Walcott is believed to be open to moving clubs should he lose his England place for the upcoming European Championships. I can’t see him being on the plane, and actually believe his time is up this summer. There is talk of some big clubs being keen on him, so I would favour a move abroad for him.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another being talked up for a move, but he is simply too young to part with just yet. I’m open to a loan move to give him more regular first-team action, but a sale is simply not an option for me.

Do you agree with my ‘should they stay or should they go’?

    1. Sell: Debuchy, Arteta, Flamini, Rosicky, Walcott, Sanogo
Loan Out: Szczesny, Jenkinson, Chambers, Zelalem, Adelaide, Gnabry
Buy: Laporte, Carvalho, Lukaku + 1 Winger (depending on availability)

      1. I agree, sell: Debuchy, Szczesny, Sanogo, Walcott, Gibbs, Jenkinson – unless he stays to cover Bellerin, which is ok but he has conceded three penalties I think this season alone.

Ospina will probably go for first team football. Sell Giroud.

Flamini, Arteta, Mertesacker and Rosicky all leaving on free anyway

Loan out: Oxlade, Gnabry, Zelalem, Chambers

Ramsey will stay, but i hope he plays more on the wing.

IN: Xhaka, Mkhitaryan, Manolas, Chilwell or Guerreiro, possibly another keeper or we promote someone which is cool.

we need a striker but it’s tough to say who. Higuain would be great- he can finish. Aubameyang for his pace, i think he would be a good fit. But EVERYONE wants him and he will probably choose Real Madrid. Icardi and Lacazette have been touted too and they are younger.

I saw Denis Suarez linked recently. I wouldn’t mind getting two wingers and actually playing ALEXIS up front. He will be so much more effective there. With Ramsey on one wing we have defensive stability. Mkhiki to rotate with ramsey, Iwobi, Toral, even Welbeck, Suarez, Wilshere.

Could keep Oxlade in that case, but he really needs to play 30 games a season which is why I would loan him out. He has potential.

  1. doesn’t matter who we think should Leave or Not…..not while there still exist managerial bias and sentiments….

Still gonna have to pen down a few names on the list tho

MANAGEMENT- Kroenke , Gazidis , sir chipeswick , Wenger, Bouldy

DEFENCE – sczcesny, mert, debuchy, gibbs

MIDFIELD – flame, Arteta , Rosicky (retirement) , ramsey

ATTACK/FORWARD – Giroud(outright sales or demotion to bench as 3rd choice), Sanogo

    *Loan -Wilshere, walcott, Ox* ….

Enough is Enough….. We don’t run a charity Organization…. Deliver or be delivered

  2. Own goals showed his deadly clinical finishing once again to send his new club real madrid to the championsleague final! I’m sure his value will rise in the summer up there with lewandowski! Real madrid has already put a buy out clause of 95m on him!

      1. Very brave of you to suggest Ramsey should go. I don’t disagree.

I would not mind if he stayed only if he EARNS his place on the pitch or plays as a backup only. But if Wenger stays that will never happen. Wenger will always start him even when he does not deserve to start. So for that reason he should go.

    1. I would not be surprised if Wenger keeps Mert to serve as a backup and to sub in late to see out games as a big body in the box to clear out desperate service bombs.

  6. Arsenal, you gotta let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
If you say that you are mine
I’ll be there till the end of time
So you gotta let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
    🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

    1. If they stay , there could be trouble,
If they Go….. we’ll win the Double ??

  7. Out
Flamini, Arteta, Rosicky, Debuchy, Walcott, Oxlade, Sanogo

    Stay
    Every one else except loanees

  8. Walcott arteta flamini debuchy must go, Giroud 50/50 chambers (on loan) .mahrez ibrahimovic and a top CB in job done

  9. @davidnz
Thanks for those classic few lines from “the clash” bro! A real classic!

  10. Who actually WILL leave?

    Obvious: Arteta, Flamini, Rosicky.

I think also Walcott and Gibbs – mostly because they are not being used and will want 1st team football. Ox may leave instead of Walcott if the money offer for him is big enough.

Who SHOULD leave? Different story – and it is really irrelevant because it won’t happen.

  11. What difference would it make … Who stays or Goes?
When Wenger has been sitting on a £250 million transfer budget, for the past 4 season’s!

Going by Gazidis’s coments, it sound’s as if he wants Wenger Gone too. ??

  12. out giroud, in anyone who can score 18+ goals per season in the epl…if giroud is starting CF next season, it will guarentee a repeat of the last 4 yrs…

  13. I think if wenger sees this article and some comments,he would laugh and call us “deluded” Fans. Heard what Ivan said about Arsenal Having over £250m for the past four seasons,if that’s true then Stan and Wenger has been is collaboration to run the fans happiness down
