Arsenal preparing £44M offer for Ozil replacement?

Arsenal are claimed to be lining up a £44 Million summer move for Atletico Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco.

The Gunners have had a huge cloud of doubt over their best players over the past couple of years, with both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez allowing their contracts to run down, and the latter was sold this month prior to what would have been an inevitable free transfer come the summer.

We still have the German international to deal with, and there are claims that he may well agree to extend his stay in North London, but there is also reports that claim we are unwilling to meet his wage demands, putting the deal in jeopardy.

Stories are now emerging to claim that we are eyeing a £44 Million move to bring Carrasco in from Atletico Madrid, with the midfielder having fallen down the pecking order under Diego Simeone this term.

The 24 year-old has supposedly been made available for transfer this month, but no takers have so far come forward to meet the asking price, but Arsene Wenger is believed to be a fan of the winger thanks to his impressive displays against our side for Monaco previously.

We are currently building a new-look attack, and Carrasco could well find himself lining up alongside Henrikh Mkhitaryan behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang come next season, while Alexandre Lacazette is also at the club and will be vying for regular action also.

Would Carrasco be a good fit for our side? Does our interest in him mean we are resigned to losing Ozil for free come the summer?

  1. Was this sitw off for a while or was it my laptop? Couldn’t get on

    Anyway, probably just a rumour
I doubt Wenger will get more than Aubameyang and Silva, if he gets them at all. Ive learned the hard way to wait until they are confirmed on Arsenal website before ?

  2. Carrasco doesn’t have similar play style with Ozil and he will only be another geovinho.

Why is it that Arsenal is only linked to stars that have fell from pecking order? Miki, luiz, carrasco etc….

  3. a bit too late for this transfer.
We should have bought him and martial after our champions league knockout by monaco

  4. Carrasco is a completely different type of player to Ozil and far less talented. If we do not keep Ozil he MUST be replaced with a WORLD CLASS player.I do not want to hear of bargain basement hunting. If Ozil wage demands are too excessive even for us then fair enough.Even the Sanchez deal he got for himself at Manure was too much for any club outside of China. You would trust Sven M and Raul are on top of this situation already and if Ozil does go in the summer then his replacement is already identified and “tapped up” in plenty of time.If we are now in the territory of breaking our transfer record for every major buy we make then that is where we must b
