There are loads of snippets of Arsenal transfer news about this morning, but most of them seem to be total speculation without any quotes whatsoever, but it is my duty to pass them on to interested Arsenal fans.
The first one has Arsenal and just about every other top Premier League club interested in signing the 16 year-old Santos starlet Victor Andrade. The Brazilian giants though have just got the youngster to sign a new contract with a €50 million buy-out clause built in. As Santos are lining him up to replace Neymar when he finally moves to Europe there is little chance of anyone getting him cheap after that news…..
The second one concerns a Barcelona starlet called Isaac Cuenca, who has apparently refused to sign a new contract at the Nou Camp which means he will be free to join the Gunners (or Chelsea apparently) for free next summer. This 20 year-old winger looks like exactly the type of signing that Wenger would go for; a cheap one! So I will put that one down as a possibility……
The Mirror has “An Exclusive” that says Thomas Rosicky being chased by Olympiakos, who are the Greek Champions (and want to stay that way!). They are willing to pay him well and give him a good chance of a trophy or two before he retires, but I can’t really see Wenger letting “Little Mozart” leave as he is in such good form lately…..
The Swedish winger Rasmus Elm is supposedly being chased by Arsenal and Man Utd, and it was reported that he had already agreed to join Alex Ferguson’s side, but now his agent reckons he is still open to offers and nothing has been ordained.
Patrick Moerk said: “I don’t comment on specific rumours but suggestions he has already agreed to join a club are not correct.
“Rasmus does not close any doors and he listens to all offers. But he is very happy at AZ and not desperate to move to another club.”
So at least that Arsenal rumour has a quote, but it doesn’t mention the Gunners at all, so I will take that one with a pinch of salt as well…..
It seems that Wenger has offered Thierry Henry a chance to return to the fold for two months. I really could see this happening but I’m not too sure about the veracity of the reports. At least this is one that we will know for certain very very soon….
Yoann Gourcuff is definitely NOT coming, according to Wenger. He reckons there is not “enough room” in the Arsenal midfield to fit in another Frenchman, but then again, if he sold Rosicky and Arshavin there would be….
With the transfer window arriving very shortly I will try and bring you a full roundup of all the Arsenal transfer rumours every morning, to keep you all up to date from now until the end of January…..
