Arsenal set to have an extremely busy summer?

Arsenal could be in for one of our busiest summers ever as it looks like we will have replace a whole swarth of players in readiness for next season. It has already been reported that Arsene Wenger has warned his players to expect ‘big changes‘ if the Gunners fail to make the Champions League next season, but even if we somehow do win the Europa League there will still have to be many changes anyway.

Per Mertesacker is finished as we all know, and Laurent Koscielny’s great games are few and far between right now and Wenger has already admitted that the defence needs upgrading. Jack Wilshere has already shown that he is unlikely to be signing a new contract, Santi Cazorla will never recover now, and it is being reported that Hector Bellerin is also expected to leave add to our transfer funds.

Also of course we have Aaron Ramsey entering the final year of his contract in June, and it is very unlikely that the club will sanction another Alexis and Ozil situation if he doesn’t put pen to paper soon. Our squad was already reduced drastically in January and with transfer fees going through the roof we won’t be able to bring very many new signings in. This is going to be a very interesting summer for Arsenal fans. We could even have a new manager!

  1. Number one target has to be a new manager in the summer. If Wenger’s in charge next season, what will it be? Challenging for 10th? A relegation battle? Because we’re quickly catching up the bpttom clubs, moving away from the top ones, and yet the manager says he shouldn’t even be criticised! Wenger has no shame!

  2. Ma’ prediction:

    – If Arsenal win the Europa League, we could get a new manager. But if we got eliminated, Wenger stays

    – Wilshere and Ramsey get new contracts

    – Koscielny, Welbeck, Elneny and Ospina go

    – Lacazette, Mustafi, Xhaka, Cech, Monreal and Bellerin stays

    – A new DM, a new CD and a new winger come

    1. I think its the opposite actually
I think if we Win Europa League Wenger stays. I think the board will keep him to finish his contract (i don’t know if there is a sacking fee in the contract. Usually there is)
If we are eliminated Wenger could go. That could be the last straw

But you could be right lol

  3. With Everton offering Wilshere a more lucrative contract I think for sure he will leave. Bellerin if he leaves then good riddance that’s 100k off the wage bill. Mertesacker same, 80k off the wage bill. Am not sure Chambers or Holding are good enough to take Mertesacker’s spot but I guess we have to promote if our investment in our Academy is to make any sense. For that same Academy viability reason, I think Iwobi will still be here. Welbeck should go though because he has no incentive to get any better and is already on a big money contract. Nketiah should take his spot as he has more to prove.

  4. Well i hope the board is busy right now getting a deal done with a new manager behind the scenes
    Wenger must go

That said i hope we can somehow lift Europa League trophy to get us back into Champions League. It will be tough (not impossible) to sign top players outside of CL. Also, even though i want Wenger OUT, it would be nice to see him go with a trophy (but again would the board sack Wenger if we won Europa League????)

    1. I don’t think the board would sack him, but Wenger could see the Europa League as his biggest opportunity to leave Arsenal with the last major trophy, to strengthen his image as a legendary manager in Arsenal
