Arsenal show what they are capable of doing….. and it is amazing!

Arsenal’s performance tonight was exceptional to say the least, and one can only look on and wonder at the sudden change of heart. The Gunners were imperious and at their very best as they destroyed the in-form Italian side AC Milan. Aaaron Ramsey, who scored an excellent goal to put the game to bed, said afterwards: “We started well, we got a couple of goals in the first half but tonight we showed that we’ve got plenty of characters in this team. It’s never easy to come to the San Siro and play AC Milan, I know that from previous experience. So I’m really pleased that we came here tonight and got the win.

“I think we played very well in the first half. We created many opportunities and we moved the ball well. Second half we wanted to protect it a bit more and we kept a clean sheet, which is always important. All in all, it was a good night’s work.”

Ramsey was obviously asked about the amazing improvement from recent games, and he said: “Of course. We’ve been on a bad run – and sometimes, as hard as you try on the pitch, it doesn’t seem to work. But we’ve trained hard, we’ve tried to do the right things and we know what we’re capable of doing in the dressing room. We showed that tonight.”

Then Ramsey was asked if they had done enough to silence the critics that have been slagging off Arsenal in the last month, including ex-players and pundits, and he honestly replied: “Yes. A lot of people are always going to talk, it’s their job to talk and it’s just important for us to keep focused and try to improve and try to work hard through the week. We know what we’re capable of doing, we just have to try and produce that more consistently. It’s just nice that we’ve managed to turn a little corner and come here and get a good result.”

Tonight’s game was just incredible and it gives us Arsenal fans a great lift in optimism for the end of the season. Maybe we can still cover ourselves in glory after all?

  1. Didn’t see the match but saw highlights…. And it seems Ospina was terrible in 2-3 occasions…. Absolutely Bizarre…

    1. If you’d watched the whole game you would have seen Ospina play quite well. Missed the ball once, don’t get the bizarre comment.

  2. Italians have more nous the any other football nation in the world, so it was total a surprise to me that the guy never went down after Ospina’s moment of madness, also got under the ball with a couple of crosses that could have cost us. The man’s not good enough, why Wenger plays him in a game of turns each’es with Cech is a total joke. Surely even a past it Cech is better than the clown Ospina. Why we ever let Szczesny and Martinez(loan) leave is beyond me

    1. szczesny would not be as good as he is now if he stayed here. Man… Arsenal haven’t had a solid GK in ages.

        1. Yes but you need a manager to bring out potential and we don’t have amanager who does that.

  3. Feet on the ground, guys. Let’s finish the job next week at home. Hopefully Lacazette is back before the next round.COYG!

  4. Let’s not get carried away.
We are still 6th place in the PL
Milan are capable of overturning a 2 goal deficit
We need to finish the job next week
That’s why there are two legs

    But fantastic night nonetheless
They have been very few and far between

    COYG ?
    WENGER??OUT

  5. Could of been a different story if Changlou had gone down but credit when credits due, a good result away from home, why our defence can’t put in performances like that regularly is beyond me, still much to do but happy we got a win. My opinion on Wenger hasn’t changed he needs to go even if we mange to win the Europa

  6. Arsenal seem to have lacked leadership and direction on the field of play this season therefore I`m going to suggest we use the British base to restore stability. I don`t think Kocsciney would be too upset at handing the reigns’ over to Wilshere and with Ramsey as his first lieutenant it could be the beginning of a new era.

  7. It really amazes me why we don’t play like that more often! On our day when we’re all up for it, we could beat anyone… more consistency please

      1. Yes Sue and Kenny, Arsenal are capable of performance such as that against AC Milan at the San Siro. However they are also capable of losing to Nottingham Forest, Brighton, Swansea, Bournmouth and Watford. Over recent seasons the big thing missing is consistency; in too many games Arsenal either start too slowly or fail to turn up at all!

        1. Ozziegunner,
No problem with your observations, they are there for everyone to see.
But here’s a thought, who delivers that inconsistency?
I believe it is the players. We have full internationals playing for our club who dip in and out of performances like yo-yo’s.
Take Mustafi on Thursday, versus his terrible performance against Swansea, as a classic example.
That goes for every player this season. Not one of them has played to their personal level.
Wenger is also to blame for making players play out of position, sticking with the same players and changing systems to many times.
But, at the end of the day, when they step out onto the pitch it is down to the individual player to give a 100% commitment.
Do that and you get consistency and a winning mentality….if you are good enough. They showed us that they are on Thursday, so no more excuses, pull the shirt on, play for the badge and earn your salary.
          Same goes for Wenger.
