The race to the finishing tape for the Premier League title is really heating up now and although there is a long way to go for Arsenal, it is really important that we keep our noses in front after the round of games this weekend. In fact, Laurent Koscielny reckons that every single home game is hugely important from now on.
With a tough looking run of seven away games left, including Manchester United, Tottenham, Everton and Man City, the France international feels that there is even more pressure on Arsenal to do well at the Emirates Stadium, starting with the visit of Guus Hiddink and Chelsea on Sunday.
The centre back told Arsenal Player, “If you want to win the Premier League, you need to win all you home games. Our seven away games will be very difficult because we play against Man City, Man United, Tottenham, West Ham, Everton, so we need to do the job well at home so we have the points.
“We take each game and we will see. We want to play and win all games. We are in a period where we play many different competitions, we play the Champions League, the FA Cup, Premier League.
“This weekend is an important game and next weekend too, because it is the FA Cup and we won it twice and we want to continue like this. In February March, we will have Champions League so we need to take it game by game and that’s it.”
The pressure is certainly mounting up on the Gunners but so far we have shown that we can cope and even perform better when up against it. At least we have two more games at home than away so if Koscielny and his team mates can do what he says and win all of them it would give the Gunners a massive boost in the hunt for the trophy.
Will Chelsea be the first of nine home wins or will the pressure start to tell?
