Arsenal target’s agent spotted in London! Alexis replacement found?

Arsenal are claimed to be actively seeking out a long-term replacement for Alexis Sanchez, and target Malcolm’s representatives have been in London amidst the speculation.

Marseille winger Malcolm is supposedly linked with a move this month, with Manchester United and Arsenal both linked, and it is our club who is supposedly closing in on a £45 Million deal for his signature.

The Brazilian has scored seven goals in his 18 Ligue 1 appearances this term, almost a third of his club’s total league tally (22), and is the shining light in a really dire French side at present. That is before adding his five assists which means he has been directly involved in over half of his side’s league goals this season.

The 20 year-old was bound to come in for interest from a number of top clubs with his performances, and Arsenal may well have been lucky to have failed on Thomas Lemar in the summer, should this deal prove fruitful.

The player’s representatives have been tweeting themselves in London, further sparking the speculation surrounding our supposed move, and I for one would be hugely excited if we could pull off this deal.

We are also supposedly interested in signing Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez, PSG’s Julian Draxler and Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, but the potential of this young star outweighs them all at present. Lemar had a superb season last year, but has failed to hit those heights in recent months, and his price-tag has most certainly dropped somewhat from his £90 Million valuation of the summer.

Should Arsenal make Malcolm their main target this month? Does Mahrez’s proven Premier League pedigree or Draxler’s proven ability make them more important than the youngster?

    1. I saw some of his play on Youtube..and you know how they say anyone can look good in Youtube clips, here’s the thing, I was not impressed at all..Probably the first time I have seen a player highlight reel and not liked it..If we are actually trying to sign him, then I hope I am wrong..but to me he just looks like Douglas Costa 2.0 ..lots of running and fancy tricks but very low end product..Think we can do better..Cristian Pavon looks good though..Pavon’s playing style is quite similar to Sanchez and he has already scored some worldlies cutting in from the LW just like Sanchez/Coutinho..The Argentinian fans already calling him the next Sanchez which I feel is a good sign.

      1. u make it sound like douglas costa is like theo walcott, everyone were like ‘who tf is this guy?’ when we were linked with Douglas costa(when he was in shaktar) and everyone here were frustrated after he ripped us a new one(when we played bayern) thinking ‘how come we never signed him’.

        1. You make it sound like Douglas Costa is a world beater..I remember the match you are referring to,but he was up against Bellerin..and Bellerin has been skinned multiple times by pacey wingers..Costa has done nothing worth mention in his career..Was brought in as replacement for Ribery/Robben and couldnt break into the 1st team even with them getting injured/aging..Now is on loan at Juventus and rarely starts..So, I ask again how would a Douglas Costa wanna be be any good ???

          1. Our team has zero width atm and he’s definitely better than what we have. Minus sanzhez, name one single player at arsenal who’s a winger and better than him at the moment.
By no means I’m saying he’s a sanchez replacement but he’d be a great addition.

            1. How about we sign Malcom and Pavon? We could do with changing our style from the pedestrian Wenger tippy tappy football to something dynamic.

      2. Malcom has an awesome long distance shot…than can be very important to us…i respect ur opinion but actually i preffer malcom vids on youtube than pavons…maybe we could get both since pavon has a release clause and walcott and alexis are leaving…maybe ozil too

    2. Malcolm will be kept for 3 years out of his 4 year deal, in his second year he will break out and big boys will start looking at him. He will realise what he signed up for a was lie. The club will then wake up and try to tie him down, he will stall for a year and every fan and the club will live in that deluded certainty/hope that he will sign a new deal. Year two passes, he now has one year left on his deal, starts playing hardball and club dont know what to do…
We dont need to welcome malcolm or any new signing, it does not matter tbh.
Once we become a full fledged mid table side, I will be supporting arsenal all the way, but I will also root for liverpool in the major trophy competitions.. Thats my plan.

      1. Absolutely agree. Any top player we land now under Wenger will refuse any contract negotiations in the next 2-3 years. So it really does not matter who signs…we shall always be in a constant rebuilding state that will only be benefiting the players using us as stepping stones for bigger clubs. I expect Lacazette will be the next in line refusing to extend his contract.

  1. Unproved 20 year old who can score goals for a sub par team in a shite league. Nah. I think I’ll pass.

    1. If we can’t sign world class players we can at least sign players who have the potential to be world class

    1. What about Griezmann ?? He has a 87 mill release clause..If we were willing to spend 90 mill for Lemar in the summer, surely we can try for Griezmann..And Atleti have resigned Costa which means Griezmann could be allowed to leave..plus he is good friends with Lacazette..he can get the best out of Lacazette and Giroud..

      1. A good idea but Arsenal are not going to attract the very top level players so long as the dinosaur is in charge and the team are not challenging for the title.

      1. Players from those shit league have being winning pfl player of the season for years now. When was the last time a play developed in England won one. It appears EPL is a shitter league compare to lig1

  2. Why is Wenger so against paying proven, experienced players?
Xhaka was a high gamble at £35 mil
Mustafi is good defender but worth £35 mil?
Chambers was an expensive gamble at £16 million
We could have got Van Dijk for around £20 mil when he was at Celtic

Malcolm is valued at £45 mil
Scored 7 goals in French league
    Is 20 years old
Malcolm is South American not all South Americans do well in the PL
French league is inferior to the PL
    Yes. Its a big gamble

If Wenger buys him for £45 million then he will say “look im spending lots of money”
It’s not just about spending big bucks which Wenger does once in a while but spending big on the right players. Wenger isnt very good at spending big on youth talent. Xhaka hasn’t been worth the £35 million innit

If Wenger is getting Malcolm instead of trying to get Lemar, Draxler, Mahrez, Dybala etc then that’s typical Arsene Wenger

    1. This is exactly right. Forget Malcom. Draxler, Fakhir, Lemar etc. pay them. They are head and shoulders about Malcolm.

      1. Yes to Fekir.. Absolute gem of a player..Can play anywhere across front 3 or no. 10..He will be an excellent addition and if Ozil leaves he can be his replacement..

    2. Draxler may not want to leave PSG….and Dybala may not want to come

Mahrez is probably not what Wenger wanted

Both Lemar and Dybala cost close to 90m which Kroenke and Gazaidis may not sanction the signing….

signing Macolm for 40-45m allows Wenger to make another signing

hence he could go for Pavon or other players as well….

    3. there are better targets than malcom, but wasn’t Mahrez(an algerian) an unproven player from the same inferior french league?
Dybala? really? not even on fifa

  3. I would put him ahead of pavon and he’s out scoring and assisting Lemar whilst playing for a weaker team. We have missed the boat on signing many a talented player from the French league in the past and he could be another.

  4. Typical Arsene Move… He would bought someone by paying 45 Millions who is not even 20 Millions…
Shit transfer activities… Should concentrate on Draxler and Mahrez in January and Lemar in Summer..

  5. Some people can’t use their brain to interprets what they are seeing. Lemar is an overrated player, Malcom is far more better than him and at 20 years the boy will only improve.Imagine paying 90 million for Lemar.I will curse whoever pay that money on Lemar be it Wenger or anybody in the Arsenal hierarchy.

  6. I would get him but not as Sanchez’s replacement as he mostly plays down the right, he’s quick skillfully and definitely a huge upgrade to Walcott. I’m absolutely sold on the idea of Fekir as Sanchez’s replacement the guy has it all and to link him back up with Laca will bring the best out of them, with these 2 we could go back to playing Ozil in the middle and have an exciting attack instead of this side to side boredom we have to endure.

  7. I will say it again, buying yet another winger will win nothing. Goalie, centre halves, CM and a world class CF … then you have a chance. But those important positions cost MONEY.

  8. Mr Remember resource, did you just say you’d support Liverpool in all trophy competitions?
You’re a sorry excuse for an Arsenal fan. Should be kicked off this site.
This is just Arsenal, not maybe Arsenal and Liverpool website.

  9. I’m not a coach but I feel like it would be wise to get Sanchez replacement this January if we sell him or not. It’s cheaper to buy players in January than Summer ?.

  10. @Pat J,
I think we should go for Malcom who plays for Bordeaux rather than Malcolm who plays for Marseille!

  11. Zaha is our best hope to replace Sanchez, he is a dangerous winger and never gets tired of disturbing opposition defense… He is my best bet.

    1. Zaha really, There is a bigdifference between a quality player and a player in form. Zaha is a player in form, so was Mahrez when Leicester won the league. Player like those will not improve arsenal.

  12. There are so many players in epl – proven and adapted!
When the club menagment know what they are doing then theres No reason for “panic buy” or “buy him because nobody else want to come” or “we’ll buy him and wee’ll see what happens after 3-4 years” scenarios!
Here at Afc is exactly what is going on for years…mostly thanks to the old fo*l!

  13. Malcom alone can’t replace Alexis, we also need to get draxler . Beside , it will still take malcom some time before he fully adapts to the premier league
