Arsenal team for Liverpool away DOES include Alexis Sanchez

With the international break coming up and with the results of Arsenal’s big Premier League rivals Man City, Manchester United and Chelsea all going the wrong way, from our point of view, this weekend so far, it is vital that the Gunners get back to north London with something from our away game against Liverpool, and I would go a little further and say that a draw would not really be enough today.

It is not an easy fixture, though, even though Arsenal are coming off a shaky start to the new Premier League season after losing away to Stoke, so every Arsenal fan will be delighted to see that Arsene Wenger’s team for the game at Anfield includes the Chile international star Alexis Sanchez, although Lacazette starting on the bench with Welbeck in the XI will certainly raise a few eyebrows.

Not only is Sanchez a big boost for our chances of success today, it tells Gooners around the world that our star striker is going nowhere during the last few days of the current transfer window. Almost as good iand potentially pivotal n my opinion is the return of Laurent Koscielny to the back line, with Holding and Monreal the players either side of the Frenchman.

The need for a win is shown clearly by the boss picking a positive central midfield of Ramsey instead of him bringing Coquelin back, while the contract rebel Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also keeps his place in the side as summer signing Kolasinac drops to the bench.

Cech
Holding, Monreal, Koscielny
Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xhaka, Bellerin, Ramsey
Sanchez, Ozil, Welbeck

Subs: Ospina, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Coquelin, Lacazette, Giroud, Walcott.

Can this Arsenal team send us into the international break with smiles on our faces?

Bob.

Please guys in London let’s abandon Emirates for Wenger this team will never make top ten this season

  2. Jay

Sub ozil, bellerin, for lacazette and kolo or do the. After 20 minutes take ramsey out and move ox to his position and just slap xhaka on the face with the message dont move boi stay back and allow ox to run to the midfield and welbk to run down the line with mana. Kol will pocket salah. But the great wenger wont do nothing till 70 minutes.

    1. Kostafi

Mustafi available but on the bench due to Inter speculation? I love Holding but he needs to play alongside 2 experienced CBs to learn his trade

  3. Sick to the backteath

What a Joke, reminds me of the 8-2 defeat by Man united in 2011, we have learnt nothing! The manager is a joke, no pride, no passion, no self respect. I would not play anyone who wishes to leave the club. He has no pride and disrespects the fans regularly by his inaction. TH calls it stagnation I agree, in fact we all agree —except the foolish board!!!

  4. Invincibles49

Hahahahaha!!! Coq for Ramsey. And we need 3 goals to win. Wenger you beauty of a genius.

  5. Simon

Ozil off – play Ramsey there instead

Coq play next to Xaka to try stop the flood of Liverpool through attack through middle

Replace Wellbeck (his played well but we need a predator and goal scorer more than a worker) with Lacazette

Hold onto other sub option until later in game for injuries. Need to pray Xaka doesn’t get 2nd yellow (50-50)

  6. Reddb10

You can see it in every players eyes and body language, they just don’t want to play for Wenger anymore.

  7. Ganja

Even if Bellerin plays on the right he’s not much better, yet we are allowing Spurs to have free grabs at someone like Aurier.

  8. waal2waal

…we get to the 18yard box and side pass up and along it – until we are dispossessed, i want to see more from ozil – so, what you got mesut?

  9. COYG_CA

Players ARE playing horribly, and yes, they are professionals, but it looks to me that very few have the fire in the belly (and they are confused by the old man’s decisions about formation, player positioning and starters), I think Wenger has finally lost the confidence of the players; fan’s confidence was lost last season.

  10. Weng + Kroen = failure

    Wenger has no soul
    Arsenal has no Spine
    Kroenke cares less
As long as the quid is coming in ????????

    1. Invincibles49

Well the quid will slow down from now on as well. No top 4 again this season. Sanchez leaving on free next season. That is 100mil loss right there. Then kroenke will wake up probably!

  11. Invincibles49

When Leicester players rebelled against Ranieri, manager was changed. Chelsea players kicked even Jose out. But in Arsenal, if a player rebels, he will be kept on bench. As the flat faced fraud on the sideline is more important for the board than the 11 players actually playing on the field. Look at the faces and body language of the players. They don’t want to play for this manager but they have nowhere to turn to,nobody to talk to. Such is the sad state of affairs.

  12. bran99

I’m still waiting for Midkemma to come and defend his master, he should explain how does Gazidis making us lose this game? Coz everything it’s not Wenger’s fault, it’s always Gazidis’

  13. Mr.brightside

As long as old man remains I’ll call this team farcenal , cuz this isn’t my arsenal

  14. Rkw

Wow … is this s@@@ or what … this isn’t even Sunday pub team level! They should be 5 up by now which tells u this is an average lpool team which only makes this worse

  15. Rkw

Will wenger resign NOW!!! What a fraud and his endless supported of the last 5 years are worse than him … u know who you are

  16. gmv8

I can’t believe people backing KROENKE – he is the reason that Wenger is there – he gave him a new contract, because he only wants to make money.

    1. bran99

And the shameless Wenger with his hunger for money, ain’t even trying to build a team, as long as he makes the money, he doesn’t care of any success on the field

  17. LL_cool_gunner

Wenger is the biggest fraud in football, living on past glory, I don’t blame the players that wants to leave..

  18. Invincibles49

Sanchez will be so heartbroken. One year of his professional life down the gutter. And for what? He is a victim of Wenger’s ego who just wants to make a statement by being strong (read fake).

  19. LL_cool_gunner

Sell Sanchez and ox, they want out, body language says it all, fvck is wrong with wenger??

  20. Sumant Gooner... Thinking of retiring as a fan till Wenger leaves.

    Welcome to mediocrity!
    2018/19 can’t start sooner!

  21. Ronny

Joke and a disgrace. Ox watching the team he wants to be part can we blame him.
I so wish that we get this window done and then sack Wenger new contract or not.

Sack him Sack him Sack him. Do these guys actually train together do they have a game plan.

Sick to death of this just got lacazette and what must he be thinking!

If Wenger dies try and buy players know it will be like sellers naming their price and anyway this isn’t down to new players it’s down to players who are not being coached, motivated or prepped correctly.

  22. Highbury Gunner

I really love the fact arsenal is losing, we really need more matches like this. It exposes all our failures and weaknesses e.g transfers, player contracts, tactical awareness etc.

  23. Invincibles49

We could have had Klopp! We could have had Allegri! We could have had mane, kante, ibra. We could have had an escape from mediocrity.

  24. dutchy

3-0 down can’t watch anymore. For starters WHY would you not start with Alexis on the left and Lacazette as our striker. Xhaka and Ramsey in central midfield does not work, everybody knows. Even playing Holding is kinda stupid against Liverpool with the form
    he’s in.

  25. COYG_CA

    Wenger – AFC Manager:
Most fans’ confidence – lost 2016/17 (many before)
Dressing room confidence – lost 2017/18

  26. Ronny

This was the last team we wanted to play today with the window still open and so many players wanting to go. It was obvious that they struggle to focus for this game.
We could have done with a home game against a lesser opponent but would have still made a tough game of it.

Wenger f off and take half of this team with you!

  27. Remember Resource?

duped everyone into signing fro arsenal. I hope for the sake of the players they all get to leave. If alexis joins city atleast thats good because it’ll make city firm favourites instead of ute and chelsea..

  28. Rkw

This is what football cold turkey feels like … can blame the 4th place junkies on this site … they’ve gone all silent of course it’s typical behaviour of cowards … particularly those who know nothing about what they r talking about … so what’s the e plantation this time for another year of failure I’ve been so vocal telling me I am not a real fan … ffing pathetic bunch

  29. Jonm

Sell the wantaway players, put the money in the bank, let the next manager spend it. We are not going to win the PL this season with the wantaway players so why throw the money away.

  30. Ronny

Actually never mind sacking him Wenger says he loves this club so much he should realise this is down to him and walk away. Who could we get as an interim if it happened? Humour me I need to foxus on something else.

    1. Valentine

      Walk away?

You are paid around 9 milion a year for failing to do your job well, and then you want to walk away? Where else on mother earth would you find such a job? He won’t walk away, not even at gun point!

Arsene must love Arsenal for their generosity, even Mourinho (in his famous “Specialist in failure” tantrums) confessed envying Wenger…he said there was only one club you would not receive a sack if you failed; it’s not Southampton, not Leicester, not even Newcastle…!

  31. Paul P

We could get a six nil hammering today and Wenger still wouldn’t offer to resign. The man has no shame. He couldn’t give a toss about the club or fans.

  32. Sam-afc

This club is turning into a train wreck.

We are all over the place, it looks like a Sunday league pub team.

Liverpools goalkeeper is clearly rubbish and we can’t even test him.

Seriously any Wenger lover ask yourself, do you think we will compete over the next two years??

All summer to get som leaders added to this team, but the old peanut claims this squad is strong enough ?

I cannot believe at what I’ve seen today, all our players look uninterested….

  33. Rkw

Surely wenger can’t survive this surely the entire fan base will call for him to go … this is defaming the club … it’s utterly shocking

  34. Chris

    Never commented before……

Major changes needed. I would suggest playing players in the correct position would be a good start. New additions across the team obviously needed to compete at the top of the league (I guess that’s where the club wants to be). Wenger should go, he’s done.

Watching the game you’d be forgiven for thinking this team consists of strangers with a new manager. Miles behind the rest.

On the bright side there’s always next season…. Hope it doesn’t follow the trend of the last few.

  35. Wolf

Plz Wenger don’t buy anymore players just leave. You leaving the next manager with loads of work to do. Even the radio commentators on 5live are can’t believe what their watching. Wenger should resign right now don’t even get on the coach bk to London just find your own way bk. I missed carnival for this. ?

    1. Valentine

      538 (clueless) passes as against Liverpool’s 508.
No shot on target. Liverpool had 10 shots on target, scored 4.
      Arsenal had 51% possession.

  36. Ronny

So with ox and alexis coming off does that make it clear to us they will both be sold this week?

  37. COYG_CA

Obviously Snachez, Ox, Mustafi, and others now want out for a reason . . . WENGER!

I still can’t get over looking at the bench before the match and seeing both strikers and our new defender on the bench! Outrageous! Unbelievable!

  38. Pam

4.-.0 ! The most critical of our problems is Wenger. Not lack of players. I don’t know why Wenger finds it difficult against even half decent teams. He should just quit. Comments please, Wenger lovers.

  39. tobby1983

If we had the AKBs on our side, this wouldn’t have happened to us. See what the AKBs have done us! AKBs!!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. lilbgunner

any suggestion on how to save oneself from utter humilation while facing rival team supporters ?
i think fr the first time i have seen wenger with a humiliated face today.

  41. gmv8

It’s a combination of everything – we are the only club in the league that don’t have any footballing knowledge on the board or proper governance – all decisions in the club are down to Wenger. Kroenke asks Wenger to save him as much money as he can, and he’ll give him a two year contract. That’s why we need a new majority share holder, because getting rid of Wenger means setting up a whole new board structure, no one will come in and take all Wenger’s responsibilities, and Kroenke won’t sanction setting up proper governance.

  42. COYG_CA

Sir, players want to leave; players won’t sign extensions; players don’t want to come here; the fans are angry; the club just got embarrassed (again); it doesn’t look good, I think you need to make a decision, fast, sir!

Ok, you are right, transfer another 50 mil from my Arsenal account to my L.A. Rams account . . . .oh, and make sure you renew Wenger’s wine of the month club account for his birthday.

  43. waal2waal

…who turns up at anfield with a side composed of crap players many of them itching to play elsewhere? we do. there’s no excuses left, its dreadful viewing, it’s a shambles.

  44. OxInTheBox

interestingly enough, by the end of the transfer window we are going to be weaker, with sanchez, ox and mustafi out, anf panic buys in.
embrace yourselfs for a difficult top 6 fight

    1. AndersS

      Manager out.
Wantaway players out, let the young ones get a chance and forget about this season.

    1. COYG_CA

      yeah? and Man U 1st place: 3 & 0, 10 GF, 0 GA
      AFC: 16th place: 1 & 2, 4 GF, 8 GA

What’s this? Ambition and planning vs utter sheit-show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  45. Joey Mack

If Brighton and Bournemouth win their next matches, and Arsenal lose, Arsenal will be in the relegation zone…!!! Four days to SPEND THE MONEY!!!

  46. Pro-gunner

NO CONTEST AT ALL – NO FIGHT – NO SPIRIT

    * sold Gabriel n play Holding
    * bench Kola n play Monreal
    * clueless Wenger

  47. Janssen

Anyone left who thinks it is a good idea to play 3 players who don’t want to be here and bench the two new players who did want to play for us?

  48. Ronny

Just saw a photo of a little kid in an arsenal shirt in his dad’s Arms shouting something and looking angry. Being about 5 he’s got a few joyous years ahead. Can you imagine paying to travel and buy the ticket for that the players or club should cover the costs.

  49. Raj

Where is jjpawn , midkemma and other people who support Wenger ? How can you defend this ? I am just waiting for wengers post match reaction.whom will he blame this time? Refree? Fans? Players? Pitch?

  50. Nomad

i told you million times….wenger is not a coach…………arsenal fans are plastic fans…..they are not strong enough to force a change of manager yet they spend thousand on season tickets…..what a joke…..

this players are class but they simply don’t want to fight for their general……he has no clue!!!!!!!!!

Ox, Ramsey, Xakha, Sanchez, Holding, Bellerin and Welbeck should not have played today…..two of them want out and the others are simply not good enough with this formation……….Wenger is not a coach!!!!! put that in your thick heads and demand a change!!!!!!

  51. shark

The only player who knew what he has to do today is Cech. I think also that he is the only one who doesn’t want Wenger out.

  52. Ebenezer

hw can he use 3-4-3 formation for big match and he knows Liverpool attackers very well such as salah, mane And firmino

  53. Ndajona

Am just angry with everyone around me cause of ds Wenger thing. This great club is on decline. I must find consolation in Madrid game tonight.

  54. Nomad

Who would have benched TW14 last season when he scored 19 goals? Those of you that slate Ozil, watch him when he’s playing for Germany………you morons…..all you know is blame players when the coach is rubish…wenger out ….
