Arsenal team for Liverpool away DOES include Alexis Sanchez

With the international break coming up and with the results of Arsenal’s big Premier League rivals Man City, Manchester United and Chelsea all going the wrong way, from our point of view, this weekend so far, it is vital that the Gunners get back to north London with something from our away game against Liverpool, and I would go a little further and say that a draw would not really be enough today.

It is not an easy fixture, though, even though Arsenal are coming off a shaky start to the new Premier League season after losing away to Stoke, so every Arsenal fan will be delighted to see that Arsene Wenger’s team for the game at Anfield includes the Chile international star Alexis Sanchez, although Lacazette starting on the bench with Welbeck in the XI will certainly raise a few eyebrows.

Not only is Sanchez a big boost for our chances of success today, it tells Gooners around the world that our star striker is going nowhere during the last few days of the current transfer window. Almost as good iand potentially pivotal n my opinion is the return of Laurent Koscielny to the back line, with Holding and Monreal the players either side of the Frenchman.

The need for a win is shown clearly by the boss picking a positive central midfield of Ramsey instead of him bringing Coquelin back, while the contract rebel Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also keeps his place in the side as summer signing Kolasinac drops to the bench.

Holding, Monreal, Koscielny
Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xhaka, Bellerin, Ramsey
Sanchez, Ozil, Welbeck

Subs: Ospina, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Coquelin, Lacazette, Giroud, Walcott.

Can this Arsenal team send us into the international break with smiles on our faces?

Sub ozil, bellerin, for lacazette and kolo or do the. After 20 minutes take ramsey out and move ox to his position and just slap xhaka on the face with the message dont move boi stay back and allow ox to run to the midfield and welbk to run down the line with mana. Kol will pocket salah. But the great wenger wont do nothing till 70 minutes.

    1. Kostafi says:

Mustafi available but on the bench due to Inter speculation? I love Holding but he needs to play alongside 2 experienced CBs to learn his trade

  2. Reddb10 ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Just put the remaining nails in the arsenal football club coffin. Give the greedy yank the rest of the shares and give Wenger a contract for the rest of his life.

  3. Sandeep says:

Why Wenger doing such a team selection, don’t know every year Wenger breaks our heart.i just can’t figure out why he always shuffle players here and there.

  4. John0711 ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

I’m sorry this line up is again confusing
    I hope we win but
Welbeck playing ? Are you telling me Sanchez on the left and Lacca isn’t stronger ?
Arad will n the bench ?
Ox or belerin on the left ?
    Ox playing ?
If ANY player is leaving this year OR next they shouldnt be starting
I hope it doesn’t but this could go t£&% up

  5. Nomad ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Who would have benched TW14 last season when he scored 19 goals? Those of you that slate Ozil, watch him when he’s playing for Germany………you morons…..all you know is blame players when the coach is rubish…wenger out ….

  6. Rkw ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Wow … is this s@@@ or what … this isn’t even Sunday pub team level! They should be 5 up by now which tells u this is an average lpool team which only makes this worse

  7. ayodeji says:

Please guys in London let’s abandon Emirates for Wenger this team will never make top ten this season

  8. Uzi Ozil ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

    Wenger the unpredictable manager.

With the right tactis and formation, this team will do OK esp if we play to players strength but with Wenger you never know.

Someday he will put lacazette In the midfield.

    Well, hope we win….

  9. Bob2 ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Our midfield look like a vets team playing five a side on a Wednesday night at powerleague.

  10. Ronny ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

This was the last team we wanted to play today with the window still open and so many players wanting to go. It was obvious that they struggle to focus for this game.
We could have done with a home game against a lesser opponent but would have still made a tough game of it.

Wenger f off and take half of this team with you!

  11. phychem ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

I feel like is wrong with Arsene? Has he gone mental?. Why is bellerin playing lwb when kolasinac is better in that position.welbeck ahead of laca?.shit

  12. waal2waal says:

…and i say it repeatedly ramsey is not a starter – he is so ineffective. lets hope lfc cannot repeat the first half. tho don’t count on it…

  13. Fab ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Dear, this arsenal team physically not good enough (“In Swahili we call Legelege”). Is there anyone to let me know if Steve Bould is good enough for the defensive duty?

    1. bran99 says:

Coz of the players the loser always buys, we need strong DM and he brings the handsome soft boy Xhaka to boss our midfield, what do you think will happen? He’be been giving out free goals since the season started

Hawa wasenge wasepe watuachie timu yetu

      1. Fab ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Acha matusivumilia Dangote is nearly going to take over the stake and suck Wenger, and replace him with TH14

  14. shark says:

The only player who knew what he has to do today is Cech. I think also that he is the only one who doesn’t want Wenger out.

  15. Highbury Gunner says:

I really love the fact arsenal is losing, we really need more matches like this. It exposes all our failures and weaknesses e.g transfers, player contracts, tactical awareness etc.

  16. waal2waal says:

…we get to the 18yard box and side pass up and along it – until we are dispossessed, i want to see more from ozil – so, what you got mesut?

    1. Rkw ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

It was over before it started once it was clear the yoghurt man had stopped being active in the market

      1. Valentine says:

No, once he signed (the two-year extension), the two seasons (2017/2018 and 2018/2019) were already over. He may have signed a Messi and the season would still be over.

    1. bran99 says:

Damn I thought that was done since Stoke city game? Did they find him? Haven’t seen him today at all

    2. TH14atl says:

Hahahaha and you pick out mesut? A 10 that’s being asked to play as a 7 in a system that has no ACM in the middle of the field.
Why not have a go at RB hector playing on the left? What about LB Monreal playing CB?
What about Sunday-league-player Ramsey-that-hasn’t-produced-for-Arsenal still starting every game at CM but spending the majority of his time ahead of our CF?
What about Xhaka that’s not an improvement on coquelin starting every game next to aforementioned average headless chicken?
What about CM wannabe wantaway ox playing REB and not offering any defensive benefit at all?
No callout for overrated below average welbz at CF?
Nope, just focus on mesut. All mesut’s fault.

  17. Ronny ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

    Picking ox and sanchez today:
Wenger = Naive and not used to modern day player power.

  18. Nomad ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

i told you million times….wenger is not a coach…………arsenal fans are plastic fans…..they are not strong enough to force a change of manager yet they spend thousand on season tickets…..what a joke…..

this players are class but they simply don’t want to fight for their general……he has no clue!!!!!!!!!

Ox, Ramsey, Xakha, Sanchez, Holding, Bellerin and Welbeck should not have played today…..two of them want out and the others are simply not good enough with this formation……….Wenger is not a coach!!!!! put that in your thick heads and demand a change!!!!!!

  19. Remember Resource? says:

duped everyone into signing fro arsenal. I hope for the sake of the players they all get to leave. If alexis joins city atleast thats good because it’ll make city firm favourites instead of ute and chelsea..

  20. COYG_CA says:

    Wenger – AFC Manager:
Most fans’ confidence – lost 2016/17 (many before)
Dressing room confidence – lost 2017/18

  21. Puff Puff ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Well…Xhaka has to be the worst player to play for us in midfield….heck even Denilson was not this atrocious.

  22. Paul P says:

I’m accused of being negative on here. But what on earth can you be positive about that first half? It’s all so bloody predictable! No management, no tactics, no spirit, no organisation and some really, really second rate players. Where’s the positivity coming from? Someone please tell me.

    1. AngryGunner says:

Arsenal is not a joke , The staff , Wenger , Kroenke and gazidis are jokes and they are NOT Arsenal , Fans are Arsenal.

If you are not an Arsenal Fan then you shouldn’t be here to insult our club.

  23. Rkw ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Need at least 3 changes at half time!!! But suppose he will wait to the 72nd minute to bring on the whippet for sanchez

  24. Jack reacher says:

Shocking team but who knows very surprised see lacasette on bench my guess new signings not ready for wenger after all he took 2 them off at stoke oh my just can’t see us winning draw at best hope I’m wrong plus Sanchez prop be lacking match practice I got 2 -3 with lacasette scoring winner from bench haha that’s my heart head says Liverpool win or draw at best

  25. Raj says:

Where is jjpawn , midkemma and other people who support Wenger ? How can you defend this ? I am just waiting for wengers post match reaction.whom will he blame this time? Refree? Fans? Players? Pitch?

  26. Joey Mack says:

If Brighton and Bournemouth win their next matches, and Arsenal lose, Arsenal will be in the relegation zone…!!! Four days to SPEND THE MONEY!!!

  27. lilbgunner ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

any suggestion on how to save oneself from utter humilation while facing rival team supporters ?
i think fr the first time i have seen wenger with a humiliated face today.

  28. Ozilla says:

As much as you want to criticize the players I can’t help but think it’s all Wenger’s fault. Absolutely terrible lineup & tactics. On top of that Wenger can’t motivate the players at all by his presence. I’ve been neutral on the whole Wenger in it or out saga, but I’ve decided this guy has got to go if Arsenal are going to be able to compete with the best again.

  29. Gunners says:

This started during preseason. We never fielded our strongest team and he is still trying out. Wenger is clueless! Anyone who still believe in Wenger?

  30. Ganja ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Just saw a clip of Ox and Ramsey walking away with backs turned while Liverpool recovers the ball and score their first. The next was Ramsey in Liverpool’s 6 yard box, the furthest player forward when Liverpool scored their second.

  31. Leon says:

Half way though match day three.
    And Arsenal’s season is over.
And Wenger will still be in a job at Arsenal next week, next year and in the next ten years.
Because apparently doing your job properly is not a requirement at Arsenal.
I feel for managers who last six months or a year without getting a chance because this idiot has had 21 years and is still there, making the same mistakes as always.
Unbelievable that so many see beyond his complete incompetence..

  32. chuauhnuna ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Last season, Chelsea were beaten at thw begining of the season and after that defeat, they got revival and started winning.. Our story turns different direction.. We continue our losing streak … So bad.

  33. HA559 says:

No control in midfield. Atleast with Elneny he plays sensible even though he isn’t creative. But with Ramsey always going forward you only need to beat Xhaka and your straight through to the defence. Elneny not even on the bench.

But Ramsey isn’t the only problem. There are players there who look like they don’t want to play for the club. Then there is a clown on the bench already thinking of excuses of why we lose this match.

  34. LL_cool_gunner says:

At this rate we might need to buy a new team, the ones that are good enough want to leave, and the ones that want to stay are not good enough..

  35. hardtobeagunner says:

Hard to believe the people at Arsenal are being paid such luxurious wages and got so much time to prepare for this game yet the boys look absolutely clueless. The Ox, Xhaka, Ramsey, Ozil just couldn’t care less. Absolutely pathetic.
The formation tday shd hv been like this

    1. gmv8 ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Yeah but could be something to do with the liverpool guy kicking him in the shin, and elbowing him in the eye, and Welbz getting a yellow card for it!

  36. Ebenezer says:

hw can he use 3-4-3 formation for big match and he knows Liverpool attackers very well such as salah, mane And firmino

  37. Ronny ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Just saw a photo of a little kid in an arsenal shirt in his dad’s Arms shouting something and looking angry. Being about 5 he’s got a few joyous years ahead. Can you imagine paying to travel and buy the ticket for that the players or club should cover the costs.

  38. Simon says:

Ozil off – play Ramsey there instead

Coq play next to Xaka to try stop the flood of Liverpool through attack through middle

Replace Wellbeck (his played well but we need a predator and goal scorer more than a worker) with Lacazette

Hold onto other sub option until later in game for injuries. Need to pray Xaka doesn’t get 2nd yellow (50-50)

  39. Mark ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

This is what happens when you have players wanting to leave. The dressing room is clearly affected. And yet still Wenger won’t sell them.

Words fail me. Pathetic and miserable.

    1. Mark ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Add in the minimal signings and you’ve lost the plot. Players out of position, where to start where to stop. We are a club in crisis.

  40. LL_cool_gunner says:

Wenger needs to be sacked period, nothing is going to change with him in charge, before the first goal, I knew they were going to score, there was so much space..

  41. Remember Resource? says:

Its obvious arsene has lost the dressing room. I believe that he lost the dressing last season itself.. He needs to go otherwise we could end up 7th.. We have to win the europa league this year

  42. Toni Ton ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

    It is what it is.
We all knew it will be exactly like this, but if you dare say it before the match, you will be branded a fake or plastic fans by the Wenger band.
Arsenal should refund the away fans, this is criminal but then again, what has changed? Transfer window, errors and loosing possession leading to goals, counter attacks leading to goals on account of our ever increasing high line, playing players out of position, loosing to top six teams away, hardly wins any game against the top six, our best players wanting out. Offering high wages to average players and many non fighters in the team( which by the way is a reflection of the man in charge… The manager). I can go on.
We have all seen this movie severally and it is absolutely ridiculous to think any thing will change in respect to results when no meaningful change has happened in respect to personnel.

  43. Invincibles49 ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Buying players is tough as we don’t want to spend on world class talent. Existing players won’t sign the contract as Arsenal is not ambitious enough for them. And Wenger can’t offload redundant players as nobody wants them. What a clusterf#ck this is. Well done Professor!

  44. Ndajona ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Am just angry with everyone around me cause of ds Wenger thing. This great club is on decline. I must find consolation in Madrid game tonight.

  45. Chris says:

    Never commented before……

Major changes needed. I would suggest playing players in the correct position would be a good start. New additions across the team obviously needed to compete at the top of the league (I guess that’s where the club wants to be). Wenger should go, he’s done.

Watching the game you’d be forgiven for thinking this team consists of strangers with a new manager. Miles behind the rest.

On the bright side there’s always next season…. Hope it doesn’t follow the trend of the last few.

  46. waal2waal says:

…wenger has only himself to blame – everyone knows firmino an mane are a threat – so we need a experienced CB as well as a defensive mid in there – not ramsey.

  47. Invincibles49 ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

The Professor strikes again! Trying to force the tactical changes by playing players out of the position and dropping the goal scorers to the bench replacing with someone with poor finishing.

Anyways, hopefully we come away with 3 points. COYG!

    1. COYG_CA says:

      yeah? and Man U 1st place: 3 & 0, 10 GF, 0 GA
      AFC: 16th place: 1 & 2, 4 GF, 8 GA

What’s this? Ambition and planning vs utter sheit-show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Adam Criniti ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Must be smoking the same chronic as our $8M man.

Pass it around the board mate, most of us realists will need it after today’s predictable result.

      1. Charlie Nick ( User Karma: 0 ) says:

Nah, tried being a realist…it sucks.
        Now an Eternal Optimist…liberating!
