Arsenal to sign Nolito EARLY in January transfer window

If the Arsenal transfer rumours are right and Arsene Wenger has made his choice of the striker he wants to sign in the January transfer window, and that choice is the Spain international Nolito, then I fully expect the Frenchman to make his move nice and early.

This not usually Wenger’s way and Arsenal fans have regularly felt like the transfer windows were some slow and unusually sadistic sort of punishment, but this time he really does have to pull his finger out. For one thing there is the small matter of the four Premier League games to consider, with Chelsea and Liverpool amongst them, and our first FA cup game which will probably see us drawn against a strong Premier League club.

With no sign of Danny Welbeck being back in January, Arsenal need all the help we can get and there is another reason for the boss to work fast. As reported by The Mirror, Nolito is apparently ready to leave Celta Vigo but La Liga champions Barcelona are also linked. So we need to persuade him that Arsenal really want him and that the Premier League is the place for him.

Also, if we fail then an early transfer bid will leave Wenger plenty of time to go for another transfer target. So could we see a flurry of transfer activity in the first few days of January?

  1. Wouldn’t mind us getting nolito at all, watched a few games of him playing for celta vigo! Very decent player!

  2. He is certainly on fire this season, but I really can’t see Wenger buying a 29 year-old. If he was going to I would have thought that Jackson Martinez would have been his choice in the summer.

    1. If we were to get a player in that role I would choose Ryad mahrez or Isco who are both possible targets come January

      Both can score and create
Rhyad has been on fire this season arguably the best in the leauge he looks like a great Rosicky replacement were as Isco would be a quality signing who can play cam,cm,ram so we will add to our quality versatile creative attackers so he would replace santi the cam,lam and Rosicky

  3. Nolito, vardy and Pierre emeric Aubameyang. Last year it was Jackson Martinez, Dybala & Lacazette. We already have three strikers in Walcott, Giroud, and Welbeck.

    1. I feel like you, with Walcott, giroud, Welbeck, alexis, campbell, chamberlain wilshire and ramsey fighting for just 3 positions I really cannot see wenger making attack his priority.

I am sure the centre midfield is more of a concern with coquelin, cazorla, arteta, rosicky and wilshire all injured. Ramsey has only just come back leaving us with him, ozil, flamini and the out of position chambers as the only real options.

As for nolito……who? Looks like another michu or chamakh to me.

Wenger needs to take a really good look at the real issue with himself our back room and our squad and they are injuries, tactics and quality. He is too afraid to rotate because of the lack of quality, he is too afraid to change his style of play, even though it is probably the main factor in our injury crisis and he is bereft of ideas when plan A is failing.

We can also no longer afford to give squad places to all these injury prone players. Arteta and Rosicky should be the first to be culled, simply to old to handle the vigours of top flight football.

Can we also afford to carry players lacking the top quality required? Debuchy, mertesacker, gibbs, flamini, campbell I am looking at you here.

Then there is the injury proned, aside of the two oldies already mentioned the other regulars in the treatment room Ramsey, wilshire, Welbeck, Walcott, chamberlain and even koscielny. Wenger needs to change his style to protect these players or simply bring in stronger players that suit the style.

He certainly cannot keep going with all of the 13 players just mentioned not within a squad of only 24 players. We are basically left with only 11 players that don’t fit those 3 groups. 2 are keepers, 2 are under 21s (bellerin and chambers) and 3 are currently injured (coquelin, cazorla, alexis) leaving Gabriel, Monreal, ozil and the much maligned giroud as the only experienced outfield players with any quality and sustainable fitness.

  4. We need more South American players in our team,no thanks to Nolito he’s another “soft touch” player we don’t need,we need more steel in our side that comes from South American players!

  5. By now you should know what happens in january transfer windows with wenger…nothing absolutely! Oh…wait i forgot there was a kim kardashan[LOL]

  6. Just cough up crazy money and get Batshuayi or Vardy. It’ll be a shame to see either player join our top 4 rivals.

    1. Batshuyi is still a work in progress
He isn’t a good passer or header of the ball and is inferior to
      Benteke and lukaku

  7. IF wenger does sign any player in the January transfer window, You can be sure that it won’t be any of the rumoured ones!

So don’t bother getting all your hopes up high for nothing.
Expectations always leads to disappointment my fellow gooners…. Remember this is wenger we are talking about!

The most that he will do is try and loan someone in and probably recall one or two loaned players from Hull City.
We have a young DM there!

  8. You know who will Arsene sign in January? Serge Gnabry and Chuba Akpom, possibly Carl Jenkinson or another odd loanee and that’s it.
So long, title, it was nice hoping you’d be within reach for more than ten games.
