Arsenal to SMASH Stoke and be ready for CSKA

Perhaps Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal players will see the Premier League game against Stoke City today as a bit of an inconvenience to be gotten over before the more serious business of trying to win the Europa League gets underway, but they must not treat the game as such.

Hopefully the result will be something of a formality, with the Gunners having won our last 12 home games against the Potters, which is the longest winning run in our Premier League history. We must not allow it to become an unlucky 13 and not just because we need the three points to make the gap between us and chasing Burnley a bit more comfortable.

Arsenal should really be looking forward to this game today as it gives a great chance to sharpen up and gain confidence before the Russian club CSKA Moscow comes to London on Thursday. After an international break we sometimes see a team take some time to get back up to speed but we do not have much time before this crucial home tie in Europe and we need to be at our best.

Arsenal must not assume victory over Stoke but if we take it seriously and play as we can then it should result in a resounding win that will do us all the power of good. COYG!

  1. The good thing is we are going into this game with nothing to loose. So whichever team Wenger fields. I expect the boys to go all out for a win…… Huge moral boost. COYG!

    1. We don’t have anything left to lose but Wenger most certainly does.
Does he risk the rest of the premiership campaign to win the Europa League?
If he does that and we win it there will certainly be an inquest on our league form but hey we will be in the Champions League so he may survive that.
But if we gamble on the league campaign finish 40 points behind and crash out of the Europa League – that is a scenario that have all sorts of repercussions none of which will be good for him – in short, it will be game over.
The Arsenal board faced with fan revolt, falling attendances and falling revenues will be committing business suicide by keeping him on.
So there is everything to lose for the manager.
Personally I want him gone but to leave on a high as he does deserve that…
      Not hounded out…

  2. Stoke City are playing for their lives to avoid relegation. The Arsenal cannot afford to take this game lightly; I will be happy with a 1-0 win!

  3. This isnt a warm up game for the CSKA match, this is a chance to put another nail in stokes premiere league coffin. Hope we give them hell
