Arsenal transfer rumour round-up – Michy, Carvalho and Xhaka

The international break has given us very little in the way of Arsenal rumours to report over the past week, and even on a Sunday, when the papers are generally rife with pure gossip, I am only bringing you three speculative transfers.

Michy Batshuayi has been in tremendous form this season, and is being heavily linked with a switch to the Emirates, as we look to bring in striking reinforcements. His club president has now revealed he is willing to listen to offers of €50 Million, claiming that the top 15 clubs in Europe are looking at him. In my opinion, Arsene Wenger is unlikely to stump up such a fee for an unproven player.

William Carvalho, who has been linked with Arsenal for a number of years now, is said to have had his contract negotiations stalled, as he cant agree on a minimum fee release clause with his club. The holding midfielder has admitted an interest in moving to the Premier League previously, and clearly wont sign a new long-term deal if it will price him out of his dream move. I’m not sure if Wenger is convinced he is worth his price-tag, though I’m sure many Gooners think he would be perfect for Arsenal.

Reports coming out of Italy are claiming that we are ready to make a new move to sign Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach. They claim we tried to sign him in the summer, and have been keeping tabs on him ahead of the upcoming window.

It is hard to find any truth in the majority of the speculation that spins around our club, and I find it quite easy to disregard all of these stories.

Am I wrong?

  1. The scouting rumours are more than likely to be true!
Our own scouts have recently suggested that wenger is too Indecisive, he does not react positively after being given good reports regarding certain players!
with the amount of scouts we have around the world,
Watching individual players 20-30 times! And all the while Wenger is not taking advantage of their work, that must be considered to be a huge waste of money, Probably millions!

Now a days we have to consider Wenger to the likes of a footballing version of a train spotter, They don’t buy what they like spotting either ?And he has a anorak to boot! ?

  2. We were linked to Michy Batshuayi  (last year?)
when he was playing in the Belgium league and once again after good scouting reports, wenger failed to react and back then he would have cost less than10 million!

Other linked players from the recent past that were scouted and who would have cost 10 million back then:

    Bony
    Wanyama
    Lukaku
    Benteke

  3. According to reports from the Dailyyyy Star! ?

Edinson Cavani, who has been heavily linked with bothArsenal and Manchester United, doesn’t want to stay at Paris St-Germain following the terrorist attacks in the French capital.

That’s according to his Uruguay team-mate Alvaro Gonzalez who, according to L’Equipe, told a press conference: “It’s horrible for football and for the city.

“We speak of the fact David Luiz doesn’t want to return to Paris and Edinson has said that he also doesn’t want to go back there either.”

    1. COWARDS!!!! Both of them

They should stand by the French people and give them hope not run with their tails between their legs

If they came to London and we had another attack would they say the same thing?

  4. Something could materialise in the summer and if so Xhaka would be awesome. Better suited as a player to both rotate with (when needed) and in difficult games (or to protect a lead) play alongside Le Coq. Carvalho is all the rage and really strong no doubt, but he may not be fast enough for the EPL IMO. Also a player like Xhaka could rotate both with Le Coq and Cazorla.

Don’t think anyone of the mentioned would leave mid-season though.
