Arsenal transfer rumour round-up – Musacchio, Zouma, Rodriguez, Aubameyang & Kante latest

The rumour mill is kicking into full swing at present, with all sorts of craziness being speculated in the press, including today’s Zouma to Arsenal link.

Our manager Arsene Wenger is claimed to have contacted incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte about the availability of the defender. The club may have agreed to sell us Petr Cech, but there is no way they would allow the French defender to join a rival.

Another centre-back who we are linked with is Villareal’s Mateo Musacchio. The Argentine has had a top season in La Liga, as well as helping his side to reach the semi-final of the Europa League. Roma are also believed to be interested.

We are said to be looking to make an offer they cant refuse for Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez, with the left-back holding a €25 Million release clause in his current deal. The 23 year-old is extremely highly-rated, and could be a more attacking alternative to Nacho Monreal at left-back.

Two players who have both been linked with moves this summer now have contradictory reports. Aubameyang is said to have told his international manager not to call him up to play because he was switching clubs, which has now been adamantly denied by his club. Kante has himself claimed he is happy at Leicester City, and is concentrating on his football with France at present. Quite hard to figure out where the truth is coming from with these two at present…

Do you think the latter pair will stay put? Do you think we could land either?

    1. Maybe for Kante but if Aubameyang is going anywhere, its 100% to Real Madrid, which means Benzema will be homeless!… Oh .. @#@#! ? .. He will no doubt, come running to the Arsenal Hospice, looking for shelter. ?

    2. @Fatboy……….well, Then i will be at the Emirates gates with heavily armed securities , keys , locks ,bolts ,Bazooka and sign-post which reads

      “Keep Off….Sexual deviants Beware!”

  1. If one wants any proof that these are random stories the Rodriguez rumors is proof enough. During the weekend he played in the Switzerland squad against Germany and some journalist watched him play and said ooh he could be a target for Arsenal since he plays left back, is team mates with two former Arsenal players and a new Arsenal player. The rumor was thus started with secondary sources like this blog joining in in spreading that rumor.

At the moment the only rumor with some truth will be the Holding rumor. The rest are rubbish. Regarding the striker situation anything can happen. If say the Arsenal board member who said Arsenal identified a striker they wanted to buy but the club wants a replacement first, one hopes that striker was Baryen’s Lewandoski and that Abumayang wants to go to Bayern, otherwise the Abumayang transfer will have no impact on Arsenal getting a striker because Benzema is just as good as Giroud. For his price and the fact that it took him three years to adapt to the Italian league, Higuin remains a gamble despite his record this season. I would go along with those wanting us to buying that Dutchman.

    1. No, I remember that LB rumour doing the rounds before that match. Someone in here even pointed out how he thought he looked a bit ordinary. The target is said to have come up through A Jonker directing Wengers attention to him, he worked with him at Wolfsburg for a spell, said to be very impressed.

  2. Rumours all over, I think I’ll have to stay away from this site for the time being. I hate to get my hopes up and finally being dashed. #GoonersFamily

  3. What is a summer without rumours??????
Rumours are what make summers interesting and fun as you will see some rumors and just laugh….

If Aubameyang is kept a top secret, it may be Arsenal..
And if not,it will definitely be Spain,Madrid to be precise,we will get to know this week as the season is now completely over in the major leagues…

Oh! And if we are serious about Janssen,I hope we act fast cause Pochettino went to watch him play for holland recently..

  4. L()L……. I haven’t really seen anything of note in the entire context…. Aside the Ricardo rumours, nothing is concrete

  5. why are we looking at full backs.. and if it is the case at all why a left beck when we should be loking for a backup right back

  6. With regard to a striker, we need to ignore what our scouts say and concentrate on finding out which strikers Borussia Dortmund are interested in, and then try and sign them.

  7. Aubameyang has made it clear, he has extended his contract to 2020 at Borussia Dordmund, he says he is happy there, it is a safe city for his family, they have largest game attendances in europe. He also said he would like to play for Real Madrid.

Borussia Dortmund value their strikers staying at the club, they kept lewandowski until his contract ran out (compare this to arsenal and RVP, we sold to a rival, BD did not).

We should not be wasting our time talking about aubameyang, chances are he will stay at BD or move to RM. Other possibility is a mega mega money move to the likes of PSG, Manc or Chelsea. He is not coming to Arsenal.
