Arsenal transfer rumours reveal DOUBLE blow for striker hopes

Unless the current Arsenal strikers like Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Joel Campbell go on a massive goal scoring spree over the next few weeks and months, one of the big priorities for Arsene Wenger in the summer transfer window will be to sign at least one top class forward.

Many of us thought the Frenchman would do that very thing last summer and then it seemed even more of a necessity in the January transfer window and we can only hope that he has realised that he made a mistake by only signing a keeper and a central midfielder in the last two windows.

The football media certainly seem to think that Arsenal will be in the market of a quality signing up front and there have been reports linking us with some big names. Two of those names, however, could be wiped off our list of possibilities in one fell swoop as The Sun is reporting that the Spanish giants Real Madrid could be set to deal us a double blow.

The story goes that they could activate their buy back clause to bring Alvaro Morata back from Juventus and then use him as part of a deal to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund. Either Morata or Aubameyang would be a great signing for us and both have been heavily linked with Arsenal recently but if this report is correct Wenger is not going to have a chance. In that case, which players should we be looking at?

It’s been reported that Real Madrid will offer £55 million plus Morata 😲

If Wenger was seriously contemplating about spending £60 million on Aubameyang then he should quickly turn his attention on to Lukaku because this player is definitely looking to leave Everton in the summer.

Personally, I rate Lukaku a lot higher than Aubameyang,
Since he has already proven himself in the premier league,
Aswell as being 4 years younger and the obvious fact that he is improving, each season.

By the time Lukaku reaches Aubameyang’s age, he will probably be playing for Barcelona, as that’s where all the best striker’s in the world normally end up.

I agree with you, Arsenal can not Bring Aubameyang as he also has interest in Real Madrid.
Zaltan Is an option and a great one team. He will definitely bring success as he is a winner.
But it would be a short term option.
That is why we must go all out for Lukaku and at 22 ever improving.
If he can score 18 Pl goals with 8 , matches still remaining, then why can not he socore 25 plus goals if he gets the services from Ozil, Sanchez and cazorla?Even if he cost 60 million, Wenger must go for him

Just have a big clean up at Arsenal and just buy what we need and then get a number 2 that will take over in 2 seasons. Welcome back TH

    Since we’re on transfer rumours!

Arsenal are interested in signing Dynamo Kyiv winger Andriy Yarmolenko. The Ukrainian no.10 would certainly add some much-needed dynamism to the Gunners’ attacking forays and the player’s national team coach has said that Yarmolenko “must” test himself in the Premier League. (Mirror)

Spot on @fatboy gooney. I was hoping Wenger would sign Aubameyang ever since he started blowing up the Ligue 1 as he would have been a typical Arsene buy. Lukaku is definitely our next best option especially for the future but i fear Wenger will be looking at Iwobi as the new Messi and not bring in the proper reinforcements needed. Since it seems Wenger has no intention of selling Walcott in the near future Giroud may be the one to leave this summer if we are to bring in a new striker and i’d much rather see Walcott leave than Giroud.

Unless Arsenal can pull off a miraculously great end of season winning streak while the teams above us choke, it will be an interesting summer window as Wenger will only have one more year to win a major trophy before disgracing himself any further.

Is it just me or i don’t know……. I think Lukaku will not shine in Red and White. i remember the hype when Arsenal signed Podoski, Arshavin even Chamakh (same o’ same).

Just get me whoever you like but first let WENGER GOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!. I don’t mind playing with Iwobi at no 9.

BTW. Sell/release Wilshere, Walcott, Ramsey, Giroud, Mertasacker.

@Bryte. We ALL know that Wenger is not going anywhere, so just get over it.
But the reason I am writing this is that this thread is about striker rumours and nothing to do with Wenger. Stick to the subject….

@Admin, I think I have my right to fair judgement and and freedom of speech. I only wished for wenger to go which is what matters to me….. just as you know wenger will not go same way i know Arsenal will not sign Lukaku no matter what!

        we are same page.

        gracias

Aubemeyang was always going to be extremely difficult if Wenger was actually interested (Wenger also has a history of making low offers too)

Wenger ideally should make enquiries about Top players ie Greizmann, Reus, Ibrahimovic, Lukaku, Draxler, Gotze, Vardy, Lewandowski, Higuain, Cavani. No harm in making good offers, could get lucky

If he can’t get any then Yarmolenko, Kokorin, Ighalo, Lacazette, Mandzukic, Mkhitaryan
