Arsenal v Hull preview, line-up and score prediction – COYG!

Arsenal vs Hull City FA cup final Preview, Line up and Predicted score by KJ

This is it. This is the moment we all Arsenal fans have been waiting for. Our chance to finally end our trophy drought. We’ve had the opportunities before but have bottled them (especially against Birmingham). However, this is a completely different squad, with a different dynamic and hopefully a different mentality.

The Arsenal players will no doubt be nervous. The fans have subconsciously piled the pressure on and the weight of expectation is firmly on the Gunners’ shoulders. But, the players out there have all won trophies at other clubs and they should be able to do it together at Arsenal.

We will no doubt dominate the play as Steve Bruce will most likely set up his team to sit deep and counter attack with speed. But they’ll be without their two main strikers in Long and Jelavic who are both cup tied. So, providing we can control the likes of Sagbo, we should be able to constantly attack Hull without much repercussion.

Line up:
Szczesny
Sagna – Mertesacker – Koscielny – Gibbs
Arteta – Ramsey
Cazorla – Özil – Podolski
Giroud

I’m expecting Wenger to drop Fabianski for Szczesny because he’ll be here for the next 10+ years and it is important for him to be a part of the winning team rather than someone on the bench. I may be wrong though.
I also hope Gibbs is starting over Monreal. The Spaniard just seems too weak and easily flustered at the moment and that is causing so many problems for the team. The opposition are purposely targeting him because they know he’s struggling. I also expect Giroud to start over Sanogo as he’s in good form and he should be able to cause Hull problems if they decide to sit back.

This game is going to be mentally the toughest we’ve faced this season but once we get over that mental bridge, our talent should dominate and I’m expecting us to win 3 – 1.

I think it could be one of the worst decsions ever if wenger starts schz over fab, it would distrupt the whole balance why mess with it. Also i belive the players would not be happy bczfab was our hero in the semi so they all belive he deserves to be starting in the final. This is a team sport and surely the team is more important than any individual.

I agree and disagree, i would 100% agree if Fabianski was not leaving, Szszesney is the future of Arsenal (GK) whilst Fabianski looks to move on, it would be great for the Szsezney as a player and the team to have a Cup Winner (if we win) GK!

Either way who ends up in GK i would not complain as they both have done a solid job this season!

But Szsezney in Goal would not be a ‘disaster’ as he has played with this team all season (more than Fabianski)

yeah but fabianski is the reason we are in the cup final and I couldn’t think of a bigger slap in the face than denying him his last opportunity to play for us at the expense of szcesny who technically has done nothing to help us get to the cup final. if anything it should motivate szcesny more because he knows that he needs to up his game if he’s going to be featuring as first team gk for the next few years, and he’s already had his final experience which wasn’t exactly stellar so fab should def start

Szczesny will start for the simply reason because if he doesn’t he won’t get a winner’s medal. And why do you think Fabianski started against Norwich anyway? :P
The writing is already on the wall!

Fabianski probably started against Norwich just to get some more match sharpness for today! Anyway we know Wenger stands by his players, so I highly doubt he’ll drop Fabianski despite him moving on this transfer window…

Wenger will put out his strongest team,
          Meaning szczesny will start!
Even though he could bring szczesny on as a sub,
          (To claim his medal)
But, I doubt he would waste a substitution for that!
That’s a gamble, he may or may not take.

Conclusion… Who cares, as long as we win the cup!
          ;)

I would agree with you if Fab wasn’t leaving, but as he is not 100% gunner I wouldn’t want to play a player who isn’t 100% commited.

bullshit.. have u seen sczezny in FA cup?? NO right?? The reason is — He hasn’t played because he is the no.1 keeper at arsenal..Plays lot of high intensity BPL and Champions league games week and week out…. So wenger wanted to give him rest by trying our no.2 keeper in FA cup. I truly believe he could also save those penalties.. He is our future and he is the best… Don’t talk rubbish and I really want to see sczezny as our no.1 keeper in the final rather than that leaving Fabiansky.. Don’t be sympathetical for a player who is going away from us.. We’ll thank him for his service and will remember him..But it is not by offering a starting spot in finalahead of our future star

Would be cool if Sagna scores the winning penalty and leaves like a boss. Just like Vieira did.

Or we win, he believes FINALLY this is going to be the beginning of an avalanche of silverware and he signs up for what we’ve offered cuz he wouldn’t want to leave and then we start winner absolutely everything!

Im gonna struggle to enjoy the game watching it with giroud upfront is soooo painful ..the team we could be and the chances we could create if we had any other striker is so upsetting to me ..

Like others have said, that is a worrying line-up. No running anywhere on the pitch except for maybe Ramsay. Giroud to hold the ball up for nobody by the looks of it. Ozil to find a killer pass to nobody as we don’t have the runners. Podolski to drop back (as he always infuriatingly does) when any of our midfield start to press on. Got a feeling it’s going to be a stalemate sort of game up until the 70th minute, and then our nerves will be jangling if Hull do score. Ox should start without a doubt but he is a doubt for the game anyway. Oh well, enjoy my fellow Gooners. Beautiful day for it whatever happens.

I’m unsure whether an early goal would settle our nerves or make us too complaisant for the rest of the match. 6 hours to go. Jesus!!

Nerves are natural and beneficial as long as you can harness them. Nerves =adrenaline=endorphines=performance. Just got to keep the grey matter in check, a PMA and belief is needed more than anything today. Be glad when it’s done haven’t felt like eating all day!! Coyg.

    Highlights of Giroud’s season

    - Crucial 1-nil goal against Newcastle
    - Neat Bergampesque goal from a Vermalaen cross against West Ham
    - Penalty against Wigan in FA cup semis
    - Assist for Wilshere Norwich goal

I disagree with your team selection..fair opinion but I am hoping for something like:

    Fabianski
    Sagna Mert Kos Gibbs
    Flamini
    Ramsey
    Ozil
    Ox (if 100% fit!) Poldi
    Giroud

If Ox isn’t 100% than I’m sure nobody would have a problem with Santi stepping in..or even Rosicky. Everyone is going to fight like mad today. Reason I dropped Arteta is, sorry to say, but Flamini is more vocal and will orchestrate our defence a lot more. He will shut players down a lot more quickly and give Rambo..Ozil…Ox a lot more time and space… Likely he’ll pick up a booking cuz that is what he is like, then bring on Arteta…who is a much better penalty take…in case things get that far! (HOPEFULLY NOT!)

    Gunners!!!! 3-0.
    OG, Rambo, Ozil to score.
    Rambo, Santi, Ozil with assists.
MOTM – Rambo…he deserves it and will show everyone what a truly world class player he is….
