Arsenal v Man City review – 2 stunners from Gunners but just a point

This was the first time that the new lok Arsenal had a chance to put to bed the questions about their big game mentality, with the visit of the reigning Premier League champions Man City to the Emirates stadium. Arsene Wenger, with his new pacy front line including Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez, had vowed to go for it.

And the players certainly began the game in a really ppsitive way, dominating the play and causing City serious problems. But you need to be able to finish your moves and Welbeck was inches away from the opener as his dink beat Joe Hart but came agonisingly back off the post. Ramsey still looks off the pace to me and his shooting was woeful.

You need a bit of luck as well and it was Man City who got it, with a good tackle in the middlre somehow turning into the perfect ball for Navas down the right with lots of space to find Aguero in the middle. THat hurt us and helped City to settle and gave Wenger a lot to do at halftime.

But the second half was just as frustrating for Arsenal, who started brightly again but had no real cutting edge. And just as I was starting to really shout at the TV and tell Wenger to make some changes, up stepped Jack Wilshere to equalise with one of his typically sublime pieces of play. It was fitting that Jack got the goal because he was probably our best player.

One of the other contenders was Alexis Ssanchez, whose tireless work rate matched his attacking prowess, and his finish for the second was a real peach, volleying it unstoppably past Hart. Then it was all about holding on, although Ramsey should have made it safe after a great lobbed through ball from Wilshere.

And after Debuchy went off injured, our old weakness from the corner allowed Demichelis to head them level. It was a bit of a blow to not win after a great comeback, but it could have been worse as Dzeko hit the post in extra time so all things considered, it was a good point for the Gunners.

    1. Zonal marking coped fine to me, if u observe real close u will notice it failed us this season when there is a change in personnel/injury (debuchy and koscienly) my opinion ofcourse…

          1. Do you reckon there is a clause in Ozil’s contract that says he has to play a certain amount of minutes per game/games per season/minutes per season?

            1. I’d drop him then and put more pace on the left. Wilshere and Rambo are turning into a good partnership in the middle just in front of the CDM.

              1. Ozil was played out of position once again. Don’t know what to say.
Just frustrating, although he did start a couple of great moves with his silky passing. He had a half hand in the second goal. But i still do not understand why wenger keeps playing him out of position?

                1. overall and entertaining match and we should not be sad with the reult. It could have been worst. We played well and the boys did all they could, even Ozil. the only downfall was flamini’s performance. we seriously need Carvalho even if we have to pay 37mil for him. just bring him

        1. While I applaud the mental strength to get back into the game, those beautiful goals and some good individual displays from Alexis, Welbeck and Wilshere… this was poor.

We needed to win since we probably won’t at the Etihad, Bridge or Anfield.

          1. Stupid comment.

Some aspects need work ie zonal marking. But we were superior for a large majority and it was more through our own doings that we managed not to win. Work to do, but certainly not “poor”.

My thoughts: Flamini stops us being a very very good team. His positional play, physicality, athleticism was dire. DM in our team is so vital and Flamini wouldn’t get into another team in the top half of the table. If we had Fernandinho today we win comfortably. Those are the margins.

            1. Exactly. Imagine if we had Carvalho today in place of Flamini. Flamini was directly involved in both goals received. He had a poor game. We need someone like Carvalho. for the love of god wenger, even a 6 year old would have notice this by now.

            2. @Champagne Charlie

Admittedly I am annoyed, but there are many good talking points! We weren’t superior for a large majority, but we were unlucky not to score early on.

Monreal didn’t track back or delay crosses.
Özil shouldn’t play on the left, it gives Monreal no cover.
Flamini tried his best, but there is quality lacking. Agreed- Fernandinho is the real deal.
              Zonal marking as you say.
Late and ineffective substitutions. We should have taken Özil off earlier. We do have some pace off the bench in the form of OX or Campbell and it’s a shame to see that wasted.

Another talking point: Team selection is becoming a nightmare, Ramsey, Wilshere and Özil all NEED to play. Özil’s favoured position is being sacrificed. On the other hand Wilshere is getting better and better. Is this a real compromise…?

In the end I am glad we didn’t lose. The Emirates remains a fortress. But we still only drew the top four last season, except Liverpool. Anyway, it looks like Welbeck should be the real deal. On to the next game.

          1. Ramsey has been poor for all the games so far. he just managed to score two easy goals and that is all he has done. he is starting to turn into the ramsey we all hated. he was very poor today just like the everton game.

            1. we played the champions and we played well. Unlucky not to get the 3 points but at the end of the say I was not upset with the result. City are the strongest team in the BPL IMO. and we put on a great show today. well done lads.

    2. I think the Debuchy injury was the reason we conceded. The players were shaken and lost concentration for a few minutes after, you could see it and thats when they scored.

      1. Someone needs to inform Wenger that he is allowed to make substitutions!
How was Ozil allowed to play for 90 minutes? awful performance, getting sick of defending him now.
We could have easily won this game. Wenger is not a big game manager!

        1. Disagree. Thought he got it spot on but for 2-3 short lapses in defending ( Steve’s area to coach) we had a good balance between attack and defence. Please remember the 6 goal embarrassments last season. 1st goal came from a combo of ball watching then man watching. Flamini did not follow his man tightly. Their second came from poor attempt at zonal. 1 player should not b picking 2 attackers in the centre front of goal at set pieces. School boy error. AW sort team out at half time. Did see ur point.

          1. Although that is true, how do you justify bringing on ox in the 85th min? How do you justify keeping Ozil on the pitch for the full 90 minutes, when he was clearly the weak link? I am not Wenger out, never have and never will be but standby my statement that he is not a big game manager. The stats don’t lie, 6 points from a potential 30 points from the top 5 last season, and that’s not even including Man Utd who got 4 points off us..

                1. Here here.

how I miss those Arsenal UTD games when they were tussling in the tunnel and the game was a war.
Every player full of piss and vinegar!
Can you imagine any of those players behaving like Ozil did tonight?
I imagine their team mates would have stuck one on them!

    3. Good match by the boys but we lack as you say smart tactics.

Koscielny, schezny, wilshere and alexis: sublime.

Ozil is doing BAD. We need two real wingers. Play ozil in the middle.

      1. ozil is bad today, but it’s not a position issue. He needs t get over himself, whatever his problem is.

and with the way Ozil likes to play now, he’s might just be better playing deeper and just gie passes.
we have real wingers, just one’s on the bench, one’s still a few weeks away from full fitness.

      2. If Wenger isn’t going to play Özil in the middle, then he shouldn’t play him at all. I understand Wenger wants to give Wilshere a solid run of games which is paying off.

With Wilshere and Özil on, we are sacrificing a natural winger like OX. But Ramsey will always have to play as well. It’s making team selection a nightmare. I thought Ramsey would be rested, which would have given Wilshere the CM role and Özil in his natural CAM position. But the extra man in midfield does help against a team like City.

Özil is getting a TINY TINY TINY bit better every game, but should no way play on the wing.

    4. Zonal marking + No good DM + Super slow defender = Barely getting a point

Lets not kid ourselves, City could have won this game in the last 10 minutes. They had two off the post and an amazing Scez save that ended with Kashri on offside.

Overall Jack was great, Sanchez was amazing, Ozil should not have played the whole game, Ox should have come in on the 60th for him.

Same problems that have not been addressed for two transfer windows come to bite us again. Look at Fernandinho vs Flamini!

Sorry to loose Debuchy, he looks like he’ll be gone for a while.

    5. debuchy is injured now who can play rb .arteta and flamini cdm lol.mert i don,t know what i can say but he was the main reason if we lost today. gibbs we need you come back soon…….

      1. Ozil just shouldnt even be in the penalty box defending. Even if he is zonal marking he doesnt do his job at all. Its better just not to have him there because we know he’ll do a crappy job.

    6. I WOULD LIKE 2PUBLICLY SAY AM SORRY GUYS!
I was very unappeased when i had we had only signed Welbeck on dead line day, but man the boy will work for us…he was so unlucky with ball hitting the post having beaten the goal keeper clearly. Sorry Danny next time. overall am impressed by the boys except flamini who was completely out of the game and ramsey whose been a shadow of himself, what happened to his confidence???? he would have controlled the ball and boooom kill off the game.
But all in all great game good result(Just need that solid defensive midfielder)
      Proud 2b a gunner!

      1. Look I really think Welbeck will be good for us, and I think he put in a very good shift today, but, now all of you put your hands on your hearts and tell the truth, would Falcao, or RVP or Rooney scored the goal that Welbeck missed.

If you think those players would have scored on that one on one thumbs up, if you think they would have hit the post or just missed like Welbeck thumbs down.

If there are more thumbs up, then you would have agreed with Van Gall that Welbeck just wasnt as good as the rest of his strike force.

        1. Wow there are some deluded people here, Falcao or RVP or Rooney would have scored that goal and that is the difference between great and good.

is anybody watching Fabregas and Costa at Chelsea? Two players we could have had.

Does anyone see Fabreagas playing on the wing?

          Frack you Wenger, Frack you.

    7. No muffy, it was Ozil that cost us the game. Having him there was like playing with ten and a half men. All through the game Ozil was rubbish. We have Carzola and Rosicky on the bench who can do better. Why keep a below par ozil on the pitch for ninety six minutes? Carzola was fantastic against city in the community shield. He scored our first goal and ran rings around the city players. If there is anybody that will cost us the title, it is not our squad, but wenger and his questionable selections.

      1. Frack Wenger, same shit different season. In the last game he kept Sanogo on who was total shat that day, today he kept Ozil on, in the wrong position which is obvious to everybody in the WORLD except Wenger for 90 minutes again.

      2. Cazorla will play Tuesday instead of ozil dude… At least he bloody well should after today!! And maybe Ramsey will be rested for a well earned game for Rosicky…

    1. The best JW10 performance since that one against Barcelona way. Exquisite passing, really bossed the midfield, had Fernandinho not been there, it could’ve turned out a lot worse for City.

    2. This is the best you’d ever get from a team without a central defensive midfielder…
can some one remind me why the F did we sell Frimpong again? just that one red card?

      1. how many poor games has mesut ozil had for us?
90% ? name the games he really performed throughout

does playing on the wing justify him never getting behind the ball or his misplaced passes?

42 million – f*ck this even di maria at 60 mill looks a better option

        tired of him

        1. Why is everyone digging into özil? He played pretty well and completely out of position. He’s an arsenal player so get off his back.

          1. so because his an arsenal player- i have to lick his arse.
            give it a rest !

misplaced passes and no tracking back is nothing to do with his position.

            wake up ffs

          2. Dude he was the worst player on the pitch..period ! Forcefully including him in the squad means we lack balance- he should be either playing central or not playing at all. Enough of world class bullshit. Time to prove it in games!

          3. I always defend mesut but playing wide doesnt justify that absolute shocker…
He picked up the ball centrally on the counter in dangerous positions with runners ahead of him 4 or 5 times, these are the positions ozil is known for destroying teams in yet he constantly made the wrong decisions or his throughball attempts were pathetic.
Thats 2 shockers on the bounce 1 more poor performance then he needs to be benched. Rambos also had 2 shockers on the bounce.

Alexis sanchez through… World class absolute bargain at 35mill. And hes tge only arsenal winger that seems to realise playing wide with the licence to come central doesnt = constantly come central, make 0 runs and congest the midfield. He goes wide, comes central, plays on the shoulder, starts counter attacks, such a baller.

            1. To all the people blaming ozil. WHY IN FIRST PLACE DID WE BUY HIM IF WENGER ALWAY’S WANTED TO PLAY BOTH RAMSEY AND WILSHERE IN THE FUTURE?

WHY SPLASHING THAT SICK MONEY ON AN UNNECESARY PLAYER? NOW THAT STUPID DECISITION IS FORCING OZIL ON THE STARTING 11 BY PLAYING HIM WIDE WHICH IS ONE OF THE WORST THING’S TO DO WITH A PLAYER THAT CLEARLY WILL NEVER EVER DO A DECENT JOB THERE. WHATS WRONG WITH OUR MANAGER? I REALLY HOPE THAT THIS NOSENSE CRAP STOP WHEN WALCOTT GET FIT. THEN WENGER WILL HAVE WALCOTT AND SANCHEZ TAKING THE WINGS WITH NO ROOM FOR A “FALSE WINGER CAM”.

      2. Frimpong also at fault for his Arsenal career not happening. The guy completely gave up at a point. Dont want him back

        1. well he’s all we had, now we have nothin John Snow! NOTHIN!
oh and good luck to wenger covering the defence having debouchy out for half a season and sold the awful Miquel
again… now we have NOTHIN! NOTHIN!!!!!!!

      3. So. We love Wilshire again, but now it’s gonna be Özil out? This site, man, the worst Arsenal fans. Özil played awful today but he has never been that finisher. He kept breaking free on runs which is unlucky for his game, Sanchez and Welbs were mostly behind him on those breaks.

Now that being said. He is skillful on the ball. DRIVE FORWARDS AND TAKE THE SHOT! Try to be that finisher! it would be a lot better than fumbling around like a jackass until help arrives. The turnovers were uncalled for though.

        1. Spot on! stopped coming here but still drop in to see if it has changed. Media start bandwagon rolling and short term thinks on this site jump on. Because they have invested in AW out they don’t want to admit they were wrong. Other team support have picked up on how fickle the loud AFC supporters are and laugh at us tarring us with same brush. Bye all for another while.

          1. God bless u. We just played the champions and fought hard and got a draw….yet fans will fan managers still find a way to pick up negatives no matter what because of their hate for wenger…lol. Actually cracks me up….lol. If we played rubbish and got beat, I can understand.

    3. As long as we have the same Wenger mentality, yes we will never beat big teams. It’s all Wenger fault today, poor defense, easy get caught with counters, no line instructions and just waiting for the miracle.
When Pellegrini make all good subs, Mr. Wenger just looks at his 42m player roaming without any motivation

      1. May your days be long sir! Are you by any chance referring to the Muppet “manager” constantly clutching his lower abdomen while his counterparts make tactical maneuvers? I thought you were, good riddance to terrible rubbish.

      2. And to think that your opinion of wenger would be completely different had we won the game, his approach wasnt wrong, eliminate debuchy’s injury and we might have scored another goal, we shared a point with title rivals, its better than a loss,go home, have a bath and cool off…

  1. Soft goals conceded once more. Shouldve won this match honestly! If we are trying to win the league a draw against City at home is not good enough. Positives to take from this match, but same set piece problem, CDM problems. The typical Arsenal problems.

      1. i rate Fernandinho better than Fernando anyways. Think my point was supported today as well. That guy was everywhere.

  2. Why the F*CK Wenger kept Ozil on the game??? He isn’t bothered defending or doing anything at all! He just walks there roaming on the pitch like a f*cking dick!
If he can’t play on the wing then don’t F*CKING play him on the wing!!! And, instead of Ozil, Wenger subs Welbeck!
It is wengers fault that we didn’t got any defenders than Chambers or any real DM’s. No one else to blame! If we lose an other defender then we are F*CKED!
But, it’s not Ozil’s fault that doesn’t perform. IT’S F*CKING WENGERS FAULT THAT KEEPS PLAYING ON THE F*CKING WING! If someone can’t play a certain position, DON’T F*CKING PLAY HIM IN THAT POSITION!

      1. I agree with that, but, he can’t play there. He just can’t. He doesn’t have the attributes. His work rate and determination is diabolical, but that happens in any position he plays. On the middle he might spray the forwards with through balls but on the flank he is just useless.

      2. Exactly, they always defend Özil!! He is not bother to defend and doesn’t add anything offensively. Had he played in the middle we would have been out numbered there. At least Jack always gives his all and shows passion. He deserves to start unlike Özil!!

    1. I don’t care whether his name is Ozil, Ronaldo, or Messi with 1euro tag or 1000,000,000m tag, if he plays poorly just take him off and give the spot for someone fresh…. simple as that, Wenger

      1. For his sake he can fake an injury in training and come back when he thinks he is ready for premier league…

    2. even I can’t defend Ozil this match. He hurt us. He hurt us bad.

We can say it’s him being out of position. But it just looks like his confidence is gone and I honestly don’t know why. Merty too, I don’t know wtf he was doing this match. Maybe the World Cup had an effect? But that’s not a really good excuse either.

Once Ozil gets that back, I know he’ll play better. It’s the if and when that I’m worried about. Maybe playing him in the middle will help.

  3. You can never relax when you watch arsenal. It is always so tense. Great performance but rather disappointing result. Wilshere motm for me.

    1. Alexis Sanchez too played outstanding. The guy could’ve taken a crap on every inch of that pitch today that’s how aggressive he was.

    1. but how long are we gonna get burned on counters and set pieces? We know our vulnerability, when is it gonna change?

and Ox at the 84th minute won’t do.

        1. Only 4* in those games I know we also drew Lester but that was the real killer we were scraped to salvage a point against Everton that was gained not lost and if we play like this against the top 4 I’m not too worried about us

          1. If you dont consider drawing at home against city as a negative result the you cant possibly see us as title contenders

      1. So, if we want to win the EPL, i’d say we should be winning at least on of those matches, we also played Leicester

      2. this is the mentality that’ll kill us. I don’t care who we play. We should honestly consider draws as an honorable loss especially one where we should’ve kept the lead. We gotta get the three points!

  4. Good point..great fight..How did Ozil spend 90 min on the field is beyond me..This is one of the worst performances i have seen by any player in an AFC shirt

    1. no fight at all, bad passing. I heard fans from my tv yelling at him to get behind the ball. Horrible today and it doesnt have to do with him being on the wing, at least show some interest in the match. Don’t care if he cost us 42 mill, Ozil rarley shows any fight and that he actually wants to be there. How the hell did Wenger not sub him for Ox?

    2. No it isn’t shut up. He wasn’t good at all, but that’s just stupid. Guess you never watched Santos play

  5. Oh my god! What a game. Enjoyed every bit of it. Team has huge potential. Not sure what’s wrong with Ozil, he did not played left as people said yet his performance was sub par. Think that maybe Cazorla was a better fit. But hey, at least we can rotate.

  6. Shocking performance from Ozil. I just wonder why we have substitutes.
Once again, awful tactics with very weak defense

  7. most of the lads looked commited today and fought all the way till the end but wenger lost the points plain and simple. every year we concede with this ridiculous zonal marking but he does not change. every year we scream for a DM but no one is bought. ozil was terribe and yet played the whole 90 minutes. substitutions are made so late in the game they have zero affect.
    A big chance missed

    1. monreal gets slated for no reason. he played well. come guys. how the hell should players get confident, if we hate on our own players? we need to show some f’ing character and support.

          1. I think he is good for 60 mts…In big games not 90…all his mistakes come in the last half..he is lacking stamina for 90 mts..

      1. Navas did Monreal REAL dirty. The good news is that the last time this happened, 6 goals were scored. So better performance from Nacho than the last time.

  8. If giroud was playing today .. We wouldn’t of played with the same high intensity

However on the counter attack we could’ve been a bit quicker if ox was playing

Wilshere and ramsey starting to sorta click

And alexis what a strike !!

  9. Good point, but we should have won this game!
As always we concede 1) counter attacking goals and 2) set piece goals!!

Wenger needs to adress this problems as soon as possible!!!!!!

  10. Nobody complain! We played very very good however just a bit unlucky and whats the sign of an unlucky arsenal? Injury of course, great point though COYG

    1. its not unlucky that we keep getting scored on from set pieces. Its not unlucky we stilll have 2 average CDMs when something couldve been done this summer. Stop just going to bad luck as an excuse.

      1. Agreed, Flamini was the problem in the first goal, a quality DM, would have defended that much better. Zonal marking was the culprit in the second. Per and Kos didnt even jump on the corner. Also Per really is too slow, Kos is playing out of his mind to cover for him.

A quality DM and a fast quality defender and it would have been a different game.

    1. [demichielles turns to Wenger] “Thank you monsieur for your poorly coached set pieces so I could break every Arsenal fan’s heart.”

  11. Lots of positives, the main one being we haven’t lost yet…that shows resilience.

Our defence is not quite right though. Not terrible, given the opposition, but can’t help feeling if we got our defence right we could control games much much more than we do.

Still, some decent performances, and a solid result to build on.

    1. Don’t be too much positive, you can all the way down to the bottom of the table with only draws …. no match lost and this is also show resilience

    2. This is exactly what we should be doing, drawing out the positives yes its only a draw at home but it was last years champions and any point against them is a good result!

  12. flamini and ozil were so bad. Deluded wenger. 42 million flop. No real DM. Mertesacker slower than a snail and. No CB backup. Now champers will be RB as debuchy’s injury looks serious
We will struggle to go 5th this year.

    1. They hate people who speak the truth here be careful. Although given a run of games in the right position with Sanchez, Welbeck and Theo ahead of him Ozil can still prove to be worth the money. Everything else you say is spot on.

      1. Wrong JimBeam – “they” hate people who constantly bang on that only they are the source of all truths.

    1. they hit post twice, and was inches away from a goal several times. Defense has a lot of problems, we couldve gotten no points. I love Mert but im really starting to question his position in the team. But doesnt matter anymore because Chambers will be our RB and we will have ZERO CB’s to cover or challenge.

      1. Nooo, come on, we have Ajayi, Hayden, Bellerin, Everybody gets upset when we dont give our youngsters a chance to play, then they want me to buy somebody, you cant have it both ways. (imagine said in a pompous French accent with a wry smile)

        1. Yah but I want somebody challenging Mertesacker/Kos. The only possible way Hayden is going to get a chance is if somebody gets injured, and then yet again we will be short in the CB position. I love our youngsters coming through but they only get a shot now once somebody gets injured.

          1. I was being sarcastic RSH, of course we need more quality in CD, this is just the way AW answers those type of questions.

  13. We always concede headed goals, we always have players injured, we always mess things up both against big and small teams and now the players can now go and eat each other’s asses

  14. its always bad tactics problem !!
what is the benefit of Ozil .. he can’t defend and always slow ..
Rosicky can defend and do quick attack

    1. Congratulations sir! The uncharacteristic honesty of an Arsenal fan. I concur with your observation. Wenger out!

  15. Ramsey needs a few games on the bench to bring him back to top form. He has been of colour since the first game of the season.

  16. Honestly this should be monreal and ozil’s last season at arsenal. Watching monreal 2day reminded me of andre santos

  17. Wenger out! Ineptitude that should be resigned to by gone years. How he contrived to not instigate any outright substitution until the 89minutes, only his clueless self can better explain. Meanwhile, the AKB brigade will begin earnestly to scamper for excuses.

      1. NO SORRY I DIDNT MEAN THAT.

i MEANT DANNY WELBECK HAD A FANTASTIC GAME BUT OZIL WAS POOR

hONEST CHAPS I THOUGH WELBECK HAD AN ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT GAME. i WOULDNT START GIROUD EVER AGAIN

    1. Welbeck missed one chance but created much more he had a very promising game do u want to go back to sanogo or play with ten? Can you even call yourself an arsenal fan.

  18. What cost us today’s game was……
    1. Zonal marking
    2. Lack of substitutions…….dont u tink that if debuchy hadnt gotten injured in the 81st minutes wenger wont sub till 85

  19. If people think Arsenal can win the league I don’t know what you have smoked. We crack under pressure, our midfield gets bullied, we lack a real cdm and now we will screw up again because of “injuries” debuchy is likely to be out for a long time. So let me ask you guys a question, what if one of our cb get injured? Those fans happy with this draw can f*ck off. Arsenal are big club and big clubs are expected to win. Also bench Ozil, I don’t give af wether he cost 40m or 200m when a player plays poor you give someone else a chance. And if you are going to play him, AT LEAST PLAY HIM IN HIS POSITION, and I hate the late subs. Thanks for me, I need some fresh air and take by frustration out by punching my pillow

  20. Our teams being built around Ramsey and Wilshere in the middle and a 4-3-3 doesnt suit that. Wenger is looking to the future rather than maximizing Ozil, Feel bad for ozil but if we sold him and brought Reus for LW the 4-1-4-1 would be insane.

  21. @galen
Jack is upping his game with every match. It’s what he’s supposed to be doing. Ramsey was in his shadow all match.
Jack was pissin me off because he was pissin off his natural talents. Guess he needed some constructive criticism to get him back on track…

      1. @goonerrectic
I was just callin it like it was dude. It aint hate. Jack was playin f**kn lousy. But your head was so far up his azz you couldn’t see nuthin…

      2. Ha, who speaks?
        Its Julius Ceaser time already.
Go scuk Shakespear and see if he can get you to lesssen the balant hate you spew to Mesut.

        Mesut Out!!

  22. Can we start supporting our team now JUSTARSENAL, we went into this thinking doom and gloom, and look. We did well.
Hope debuchy is alright, otherwise, well you know.
    Positive result

    1. Nope.

We played outstanding today, made me proud. The goals were incredible. Sanchez, Wilshere, and a solid Koscielny in the back were great. But then the set pieces and counters. Then we scored our second goal and got lazy. I don’t know why they let their hard work go to waste. We’ve seen this story before. Same sh*t different day.

        1. Forgot about that… That does sound good to hear. But let’s get some wins in during our next few matches.

  23. Ozil needs to be played in the centre, he is not a winger. Campbell, Podolski, Ox, Gnabry, Rosicky or Cazorla would all have been a better fit.

    ARSENE….START LEARNING FROM YOUR MISTAKES.

All in all this performance confirms we are getting better at going forward and showing more spirit. Now if only the team selection was more astute…good start by Welbeck, I like his energy and he did well for his first competitive game with us.

    1. Arsene never learns from his mistakes, never. Zonal marking, No CDM, No substitutions, Super light in numbers on Defense. All the problems we have had today are problems we have had for 2 seasons.

  24. debuchy is injured now who can play rb .arteta and flamini cdm lol.mert i don,t know what i can say but he was the main reason if we lost today. gibbs we need you come back soon

  25. Disappointed with our counter attacks today we should have made this city team pay, disappointed with wenger and his attitude towards making changes. This city team i said was ripe for the taking and we missed that opportunity. We lost this match.

A welbeck on the right and ox on the left with sanchez in the forward slot would have closed out this game easily.

I hope Debuchy recovers quickly from whatever injury he received, you could see Chambers was not up to the tempo of the game and that cost us

Really was looking forward to the victory which i felt was ours for the taking

    1. we had sooo many counter attacking opportunities. Imagine if it was Ox on the RW for those counters instead of Ozil who isnt even fast enough to be a winger and help in counters.

  26. NEGATIVES: I’m not looking for a scapegoat, I’m not trying to bash anyone but I think arsenal pay ozil enough to at least pretend to give a fk, honestly we would’ve tore city a new one if Mozart or ox played ahead of ozil, I think we need to realise we made a mistake signing ozil, lets cut our losses and develop the wilshere and ramsey partnership by giving them a five star anchorman with the ozil money, cause flamini and arteta are extremely average, arsene needs to learn how to sub

POSITIVES: for his first game danny was EXCELLENT, very happy with his performance, gave us what we needed, SANCHEZ IS WORTH AT LEAST 5 OZIL’S, WOW jw10 just WOW, Monreal was EXCELLENT

SUMMARY: arsenal deserves fight from ozil and if he’s not willing to give it to us then his not worthy of being on the pitch, simple as that, if arsene tells him to play right back/goal keeper/striker/Centreback as crazy as it is, WE DESERVE him givin us a shift, his attitude today was beyond disrespectful to not only us the fans but his teammates

  27. Why US focus on the negatives, when this game had a lot of positives.
    Positivity = good outcome
Pelelllegrinni zombie face is mad bro lol, watch on motd, he mad lol

  28. I think we’ve found our formation, really looks like we might be starting to click. Great work ethic and fight from the lads. oezil is still an enigma- more time to grow confidence or a bench appearance. hope we now rotate a bit, as the starting XI looks like they re growing on each other.

I think our DMs are ok, but we need someone really good and physical. Hope “Débutcher” will be well soon as well. so annoyingly short on defenders

  29. Well said. Some Arsenal fans are small times fans from clubs like Fulham, Blackpool, Wolvehampton, etc. They started supporting Arsenal recently.

We are a big club and big clubs are expected to win games like this. We almost did.

And, yes, bench Ozil, f*ck price tag.

  30. Wenger will probably start today’s players again, against Dortmund.
What’s the point in draining out the players?
Why not substitute ozil? Just why? There are other hungrier players on the bench.
    This is a disgrace.

  31. The weaknesses spotted last year were highlighted again…CAM played out of position on the left, lack of mobility at CB and much needed strengthening in CDM position. Had these issues been addressed we would have seen a different outcome

  32. Wilshere has earned a place to start as CAM against West Brom, in front of Arteta and Ramsey in central midfield. Not sure about the Dortmund game… Özil on the bench. Özil was disappointing today. Yes he was played out if position, but basics weren’t there today, simple things like pass accuracy, getting muscled off of the ball. Not good enough to warrant a starting position. It was poor, he’s better than that.

Special mention for Koscielny, Wilshere was great, but Koscielny was my MOTM today, had Agüero in his pocket all game the first goal wasn’t his fault at all, he was pulled out because of Monreal being caught out if position.

On a side note, what on earth are we to do if Debuchy is ruled out for a month or two? We’ll have to play Bellerin, can’t risk playing Chambers when he’s our CB backup too. Bellerin is great, but with the Champions League also, with such little experience it’s a major risk..

    1. WHo gives a flying frack how well we played if we dont win. We have been playing the best football in the EPL for the last 10 seasons, what has that gotten us?

It is all about results, having a killer instinct to kill the game. We dont have it, Our Manager doesnt have it, He warthed Ozil for 90 minutes do absolutely nothing.

    2. best game weve played yet the defending was still horrendeous. I’d take a scrappy Crystal Palace win over this. Know why, cause its about picking up the 3 points. Are we trying to win the league or win a trophy for most flashy team?

  33. If Chelsea win the league I’m going to cry, especially since fab will be the reason for it. Just look at fabregas and then Ozil. Last season I supported Ozil with all my heart, when someone criticized him it got me pissed off. But seriously he has been playing below average recently. And then at the bench we have Campbell, don’t you guys think Campbell/podolski would be a better winger or are you blind. Cazorla is a better winger as well. So wenger wither play Ozil in the center or don’t play him at all because in the match today Ozil was barely to be seen

  34. Now we need Swansea to win to feel a bit better. If this carries on, Chelsea will win the title by January

To be fair, I would have felt a lot better about today’s result if we had beaten Leicester and Everton.

Wenger has become tactically very poor.

But a draw against Citeh isn’t a bad result.

    1. Whats your point actually? Dont you think that Ozil would also shine under Moro like Cesc does? And then you would have find your self in the same poz babbling about Fabregas swap Ozil.

        1. Morinho would never play Ozil on the wings, thats why he is a winner and Arsene is a specialist in failure.

If we ever swapped Ozil with Fab, Mourinho would get the best out of him and Wenger would play fab as a DM.

          Frack Wenger

      1. Thats a very good point.
But wenger knows how to use fabregas as he developed him.
However ozil would be 10x better under mourinho.

  35. DANNY WELBECK!!! WHAT A SIGNING THIS WILL BE. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW A PLAYER ALMOST BOSS OMPANY?? DANNY WELBECK SHOULD BE OUR NUMBER 1 STRIKER ALL SEASON

  36. Aaron Ramsey hasn’t played a good game all season, and all of you keep pointing out Mesut. Arsene should play Jack or Aaron, but not both at the expense of Mesut.

Reality is, Mesut out wide plays himself out of the game and out of confidence, and thus looks like the player that should be subbed at 60 minutes (if Arsene knew how to rotate of course), When truthfully, Ramsey was and has been a shell of the player he was last term.

Can’t wait for Theo to come back and force Arsene to properly balance the side. If not, Bayern, City, or Barca will come for Mesut soon.

    1. Ramsey still more useful than Ozil when he has a bad game. Its laughable you want Ramsey dropped at the expense of Ozil. Laughable.

      1. Properly evaluate the game my, stop bein a homer. Mesut in his natural position is consistently superior to Ramsey, period. Mesut out of position is useless. Ramsey has not played well the whole term, and yet you want to keep him on the field and breed no competition in the team whatsoever. When he and Jack start battling each other for the same position they’ll both be better for it and the team will be stronger.

        1. You act like Ozil automatically has a good game when hes in the middle. But hes still had a TON of crappy games. January, Feburary until he got injured he didnt do crap, when he returned from injury he only had 2-3 good games since. Your telling me to properly evaluate the game when you shuld be doing the same instead of just doing whatever possible to have Ozil in the side. Ozil hasnt hit form since December of last season honestly. Sad truth, take the blindfolds off.

          1. Not about the blindfolds my friend, though I appreciate your position. Class is class, and the kid is class. Almost always finds the right pass, properly weighted, etc. when stationed where he should be. We all agreed last year that he didn’t play well because we didn’t have the players in front of him to stretch the field and create space – thus everything was condensed on him. Now we have those players, and he’s played out of position. Arsene is going to Arshavin the sh*t outta this kid if he’s not careful.

And I don’t entirely blame Rambo for his poor performances either. Arsene’s change of shape and movement of Aaron’s starting position has yielded a dip in his form as well.

Bottom line, let Mesut get a run of games in his natural position with these players around him, and you’ll get where I’m coming from. Let things continue like this, and you’ll continue to feel that you’re right, and the team’s overall results will continue to suffer.

            1. disagree. Bottom line is in premier league if you dont show any fight, if you dont work hard you will no doubt flop. Were not always going to have the right players fit, and your not always going to be in the position you want to play in. There is still no excuse for the laziness. When Jack was pushed out on the wings last season he was still working hard, whats Ozil’s excuse? Ozil has been getting the ultimate pass for months now and its about time he step up or be dropped. You also see players like Iniesta out of position sometimes, they still try to do what they can and come up with great performances still. If Ozil isnt played in his favorite position his attitude is just horrible. Ozil has always says he wants to evolve his game yet on the pitch i have seen nothing to back up his claim. Sorry for the Ozil bashing, but the guys been getting a free pass for way too long.

              1. Lemme make sure I’m understanding you correctly. Ramsey plays poorly for majority of the 2012-2013 season in his preferred position, was continually forced into the side, but that’s okay. Jack was poor for the majority of the 2013-2014 campaign in his preferred position, was then played out of position wide in an effort to be played into form (at the expense of the team mind you) and that’s okay. Mesut, played out of position, plays poorly, and he’s told to suck it up and play better?

We spend the money we spend on a finesse, class, player that plays a finesse classy position to pick locks that no one else can; play him out of position and then demand that he adopt characteristics that are not his and are not the reason we purchased him? Am I reading that correctly?

Iniesta has arguable some of the best feet on the planet and loves to skip by people, reasons why he can be played wide. That’s not in Mesut’s DNA. When in the middle he’s very capable of shifting his body to make the first or 2nd one miss, but he’s looking to play a ball, not run at people. Mesut’s characteristics make him an exceptional 10, not winger.

                1. As I said Ozil has said he wants to evolve his game yet is unwilling to change his game even a little in a new position. And you cannot compare the 12/13 season to this season because the players we have now are much much better. Ozil is benching Ox, Cazorla, Rosicky right now. Ramsey benched maybe one other wide player when he got strange starts. ALSO Ozil cost 42mill, we were supposed to be buying a finished product, not somebody to nuture and make into world class like Ramsey/Wilshere. Ozil is capable of better and hes been way below par for months.

    2. and how was Ramsey even bad today? people keep saying that yet nobody can explain what he did wrong. A few bad passes that went out of play and thats about it. He still picked up an assist and was constantly helping out in defense. People only judge Ramsey on his attack and go blind when he makes good tackles or wins the ball back.

      1. the ball to Jack for the goal was under hit. Ball served into the box for the 2nd goal was under hit. Killed multiple attacks going forward with errant shots or passes. Consistently found the wrong ball going forward.

Shows you know nothing (see, we both can say that).

        1. You are seriously saying the two goals that came about were because of Ramsey errors? Well he can make those errors all day long because more than often they seem to be turning into goal scoring chances. You clearly think everything good he does is a mistake. As I said, laughable that you are now even complaining about the opportunities he created.

          1. Look man, at the end of the day, I would imagine that we both want the same thing, which is for the Arsenal to truly maximize their potential and be the team we know we can be. Unfortunately we agree on how that can accomplish that.

Mesut is highly rated in the world as one of the best 10s on the planet, and yet he’s continually being used as a 7. Then when he doesn’t play well, people wonder why and quickly point the finger.

Mourinho and Pelligrini continually field properly balanced sides, and when they identify it’s going wrong, they quickly make the necessary changes. Arsene continues to send us out unbalanced and with the wrong tactics, and we continue to conceded soft goals on the break or on set pieces, and don’t maximize our ability going forward.

Fortunately Jacks individual ability allowed him to take two quick clean touches in succession to go by his defender on his goal; and produce a great header to Alexis for a sublime finish.

However, we won’t beat the big boys continuing in this fashion. That’s just the truth.

      1. Thank you for proving my point with your response above RSH. I completely agree that we have much better players now than we did that season, and yet we continue to play people out of position to accommodate Jack and Aaron. Thusly, we will achieve the same results as we did in season past, rather than maximizing our true potential.

2ndly, you talk about the money we spent on a player that you “don’t want to nurture”, and I completely agree. Thing is, we purchased him to play ACM, not RW/LW. Mesut talked about evolving his game, and he said that in context to adding goals to his assists; not to playing out wide and learning how to run at people from wide positions and learning when/how to track back on the touchline.

I appreciate your response attempting to negate my point, actually giving it more strength. Thank you for that.

        1. all your doing is trying to find excuses for Ozil’s laziness. There are none so stop this out of position crap. If he doesnt play in his favorite position he doesnt try and thats not fair to the other plays like Alexis who are putting in 100% of their effort.

  37. Good game from Sanchez, Wilshere, even Welbeck in the first 20 minutes… Ramsey what is wrong with him so far this season? Hope he can get his confidence back soon, we need him to perform..

The defending is non existent, our players don’t learn, they get so square and no pressure on the ball which gives the opposition time to thread balls through..

I just don’t know what is wrong with us sometimes..

    1. He hasn’t been good all season, playing in position, yet everyone keeps attacking Mesut while playing out of position.

Arsene must be blamed. We played a 4-2-3-1 last year, Ramsey came from deep and arrived late, had more space between the lines to operate. We play a 4-3-3, almost 4-1-4-1 this year, and he’s playing like shit. Arsene please stop being so stubborn.

  38. poor tactics from a biased manager. hw would a player make impact in just 4 minutes in a match like this. I would have sub ozil and Ramsey and bring on carzola and podolski or ox. pellegrini was leading at halftime but still make changes bcs he wanted a win. Wenger wait for his first sub at the 83rd minutes. If he doesn’t want to play rosicky, podolski and Campbell he should let them go. he’s so biased.

    1. Mesut out of position looks like he needs to be subbed. While Ramsey plays centrally (though not in his natural position because of Arsene) and people give him a pass. Play Mesut where he should be played, and we’ll get the player we played for. Jack or Ramsey, not both at the expense of Mesut.

  39. You know what rlly piss$es me off the most? Wenger and his favorisem towards some certain players. Man up old man, Ramsey was below his standarts and should have being off long time before the second half. Santi shoud have been used and Chamberlain aswell. I was also desepointed with Seza, he is a fine goaly but not up to the standarts of a word class keeper. An example, whenever i see Chelsea in danger and think, ok thats deff a goal, Cech makes it no goal. Same goes for Van der Saar back then.

Wilsher can be world class, all he needs to do is to keep up his game. Worldclass performance today. I also notices that Wilsher lacks players besides him who play the old fashioned beatifull football we where used to play years ago.

  40. Wenger Wenger!!! Whats wrong with him , he has got mad…Why he didn’t subbed players early in second half, specially Ozil…He was very very poor. No good chances created, lost ball very easily ,no good run-ups & wasting +decreasing our tempo & chances…He should be subbed at half time instead played whole game…Wenger should now learn to make changes if player plays very poor…This was an very important game and we got just 1 point. And Sanchesz ohh! he played awesome…

  41. I don’t understand why people are happy we’re unbeaten. You can draw 38 games, pick up 38 points, be unbeaten and still get relegated. We should be looking for wins and shut a game off when we’re ahead, not brag that we didn’t lose to the current champs. We were playing at home. To put things into perspective, spurs have already lost a game, we are unbeaten and they could still go 3 points above us if they win.

When we go to the Ethiad and Man City possibly go 1 or 2 goals up, do you think they would get sloppy and give us a sniff of equalizing/winning? They would not let their Full backs bomb up or give away sloppy set pieces around their box with a few minutes to go. They would run the clock down.

3rd game in a row we’ve seen proof Ozil playing on the wing just doesn’t work and guess who is getting stick for underperforming out of position? Ozil. Fernandhino is the type of player we’ve been screaming for since Gilberto Silva but we are relying on 2 small players with no legs who will let Ramsey run past them with the ball.

I think for us to finish 4th we will be at the mercy of Man utd having another sloppy season.

  42. And yes hoping that there no serious injury to Debuchy.. He is very crucial for us and also we didn’t have much defenders for back-up if some one goes out for long period of time…
It should not happen, but if Debuchy is out for more weeks we should change our formation too 3 defenders i.e like of Netherland, because losing one more defender with already defender one out will bring us with atmost 1 defender as back-up…So, lets hope Debucgy is fit for next BPL game…

  43. And yes hoping that there no serious injury to Debuchy.. He is very crucial for us and also we didn’t have much defenders for back-up if some one goes out for long period of time…

  44. if we scored to draw that match everyone would be pleased, we just outplayed the champs, i still scratch my head about TV5, this would be a key year for him, i wonder if we had a deal with barca to sell TV5 if they sold Sanchez? i think Sanchez may become the next legend of AFC, his work rate and attitude is special, Mesut is not a physical player playing in a physical league, play him in the middle or dont play him…

  45. btw, monreal is getting better and better, just saying, i was critical of him, but he looks much better last 3 matches

    1. its at Stamford Bridge. If anything, they’ll get a last minute penalty just like against west brom last season. lets just wait

  46. Gooners lets’ not bash Ozil, lets get behind him, he’s lacking in confidence, weve paid the fee, thats done and dusted, we need to get the best out of him again.
    He’s world class TRUST ME!

    1. needs to show he wants to be here first. I’ll tolerate a player like Jack who clearly wants to do better and is trying. But Ozil never seems to care or work hard.

      1. I know exactly what you mean, but scapegoating/hating on a player will not get a better outcome out of him, he’s a player that needs to be loved, not a fighter like wilshire.
There is no befit on hating a player.

        1. Manager shud be talking to him and set the expectation….a comment or 2 in the media will also help……I don’t think there is anything being done with ozil as all think he is world class but to me he has cost us many games….is a burden on others who have to run back from other half to defend ever so often when he loosens possession.
He is not good for arsenal in current form.
Some guys when u love them after a poor show it makes them more complacent.

  47. Wenger confirmed to me today that he’s suffering from inferiority complex….we were playing at home..2 1 up from 1 nil down…Aguero and Fernandinho subbed…no yaya toure…yet wenger could not reply wth a proactive sub..instead what did my ‘ouch’ do..he waited patiently for arsenal to be pressured wth City’s subs and Debuchy to be injured before subin…and wat else waited for welbeck to limp and subed him and we almost lost d game..Yet Arsenal was playing at home..a game where a win would have done a lot..can’t imagine how Cazorla wud be feeling now..could even see hs legs itching frm here..yet ‘wenger knows best’..ma ass..Wenger is simply Tactically incompetent and suffering from inferiority complex in huge games ..cos we had everyfin we needed 2 win dis game..same Wenger on a fateful day subbed Chamberlain against Man u while we were leadin(best player dt day) and we eventually lost…Martinez could have won dis game for us at 2 1. atleast

  48. Sorry folks but it is time Arsene left. He hasn’t a clue. NO leaders that can steady the ship, NO tactics to nullify big teams, NO solid Defensive Midfielder. He still thinks he can win the EPL? Move over mate as you will soon be awaken from your deep slumber. We could easily have won this game today with a weakened Man City team but Schezney lost us the game with his poor kicking and clearing. The only way we are ever going to win and win well is if we shot of the manager now. he’s taken this club as far as he can and now for Klopp please, Martinez or Brendan Rogers!

    1. Yeah lets sack the manager right now, f8ck everything up, no!!!!!!!!!!!!
See the season through and kiss that cannon

  49. Weng shld bench ozil and sell him off as scrap next summer. He hasnt neasured up against big teams. Shld he play well against smaller teams it wld look like he has stuff. For 42m we deserve more. Its also sad to hear fans still mentioning arsenal has potentials after 9 years. We had 100m to spend why cld we not buy mostly finished products who will instill fear and command respect from other big teams. Ozil in the team is short one. He wld not dare try this under jose mourinho

  50. To all the people blaming ozil. WHY DID WE BUY HIM IF WENGER WAS SUPOSED TO PLAY BOTH RAMSEY AND WILSHERE IN THE FUTURE?

WHY SPLASHING THAT SICK MONEY ON AN UNNECESARY PLAYER? NOW THAT STUPID DECISITION IS FORCING OZIL ON THE STARTING 11 BY PLAYING HIM WIDE WHICH IS ONE OF THE WORST THING’S TO DO WITH A PLAYER THAT CLEARLY WILL NEVER DO A GOOD JOB THERE.

    WENGER WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU.

    1. Us the fans head hunt him for top talent, he replies, and were still not happy
“Buy a striker wenger” Hers danny, he’s goona be a bad bwoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

      1. if i recall the fanbase was shouting for the same thing we did this summer, a top CDM and striker. Nobody really wanted another CAM because we assumed Wilshere and Cazorla would fill that position.

  51. Off topic Gooners vs Chelski…. It is impossible to park a buss in from of theo
    BE-F*KING-AWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  52. Sanchez on the field is the equivalent of two players on the pitch with enthusiasm, motivation, and dedication. I think it’s not right to continue playing ozil, it’s just not justified. I don’t think he even put in half the effort of sanchez.
Ozil either through the middle or on the bench. He jeoparadises the whole team playing on the wings

  53. I am a big huge ozil supporter but hes got a problem & its affecting hiz football reall bad #wenger on the othe hand has lost it whats up wit him & his late subs it gettin to me now, oh how I miss #14

  54. Ozil needs to be loved, no homo, but he’s that kind of player, even maureen said he needs love to get the best out of him.
Thing is Ozil is not a wing man, he’s a cam, he will set Lord bendter if he is in Cam
Trust, don’t hate, he’s a gooner, wengers fault, not Ozil.
    The worlds best no_10

    1. Ozil plays like that, when he is in the right position, Ozil can thread a pass with the best of them but not from the Wings.

If a player is not playing well, he should be subbed and given a rest, but if you are blatantly playing a player out of position week after week and you see that he is not playing well then that is the managers fault not the players.

  55. We were lucky when city hit the post twice today, but it’s back to the main issues
Ozil cannot play left, and this means we play with 10 men, either play him centre or bench him
Again wenger is reluctant to change the team, a top team would have changed the game when 2-1 up, change the players and defend play out time, but no as usual wenger does FA, I do worry we won’t make top 4. We have no chance to win it but what are we waiting for, to finish 5/6 then wenger leave ???
He moved us forward when he joined, but now he is holding us back , we need a new coach/ manager to move us forward again ,
Ozil will continue at LW and we will continue to frustrate, every player should be playing for their place regardless of price tag

    1. So what we played Leicester last week. They have a better manager, that is the only difference between us and Chelsea. Give Arsenal to Mourinho and Chelsea to Arsene and give them one transfer window and see what happens.

I love Sanchez, Love him, I think he is our best player, but we needed Costa more than we needed Sanchez. We needed a DM like Carvalho more than we needed just about anybody we transferred.

Matic and Ramires for Chelsea allow Fab to play. Our answer to that should have been Carvalho and Ramsey or Wilshire allowing Ozil to play up front.

Flamini is over, Arteta is over there is no use playing with those guys and push Ozil wide. If you were stupid enough not to buy a DM then find a set up to play without a DM.

  56. Chelski are playing Swansea and before anyone slags them off they are better than Leicester , and they are trouncing them, we are no where near them, and we let them sign fab OMG he should be sacked just for that

  57. Fabregas, Costa and Remy were meant to be our players at one time or the other. Only God and Wenger knows what went wrong with their interest.

  58. i hope arsenal fans are watching dis chelsea side,so sweet to watch and banging goals.Whereas chelsea beat city both home and away last season.

  59. ARSENE, GIVE ARSENAL A CHANCE…. LEAVE. WE WILL NEVER WIN THE EPL WITH WNGER IN CHARGE, NEVER.

ALL OF YOU OUT THERE KNOW THIS, DEEP INSIDE YOU, YOU KNOW THAT HIS TIME HAS PASSED.

FRACK STABILITY, SHAKE THINGS UP A LITTLE, BENCH OZIL, PLAY OX, PLAY ROSICKY, PLAY CAMPBELL, DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT

  60. I hate Chelsea as a club.
I hate Mourinho as a coach.
I hate Abrahamovich as a owner.
BUT I LOVE HOW CHELSEA PLAYERS DISPATCH TEAMS WITH EASE.
That’s the reminiscent of our Great Invincibles.
I am beginning to see Hafiz Rahman passion instead of perceived criticism.

  61. Great game from our very own AFC players…Jack is starting to switch gears and let’s hope he stays fit and keeps improving as the season goes along…he might do like Rambo did like season letting his talent speaks MOTM performance…Ozil was poor today and like most of you guys it’s been sometimes now even thought I’m not throwing the towel on him…but Wilshere and Cazorla are right behind him and one thing we do have is number 10’s covers!!I believe that Ozil is our x-factor this season..if he’s able to shake off those lapses, poor performances and increase his influence in our game at least offensively (Assists and few goals), linking-up with the midfield and counter attacking…man we will have a fantastic season cause Sanchez is picking up…but Ozil, please WAKE UP!!

  62. 1. Amazing game by Wilshere Sanchez Koscielny and Szczesny!!!
    2. Horrible defending (still thought Kosc got the job done though)
    3. Welbeck had a good game, excited to see what else he can do
    4. Ozil horrible game, was difficult to watch. Play him in the middle or not at all
    5. Hope Debuchy has a speedy recovery, he’s done well
    6. Wouldn’t be opposed to having a back 4 of bellerin-chambers-kosc-gibbs/monreal
Mert is too slow and idk why he’s switched off so many times this season, he’s usually a commanding leader.
    7. COYG LETS GET SOME WINS
