Arsenal v Stoke Player Ratings – Koscielny ran the show as usual

In a game that Arsenal totally dominated the possession and the ball, it seems flattering to Stoke that the Gunners only scored two goals through Walcott and Giroud. Our opponents couldn’t try and bully us as they have in the past and we certainly have their measure on our home ground.

PLAYER RATINGS

Cech 7
He didn’t have a lot to do, but when he did have something to do, he did it well!

Bellerin 7.5
The Spanish youngster is becoming an integral part of our attacking moves. Great to watch

Gabriel 7
His physicality is helping the defence to be more solid and definitely not scared to slug it out when necessary.

Koscielny 8.5
Got more chances to go further up the pitch with Gabriel to back him up, and even came close to scoring

Monreal 7
Good work down the wings but not as exciting as Bellerin

Coquelin 8
As efficient as ever. With Le Coq in the side I quite fancy our chances of beating Chelsea next week. Awesome find

Cazorla 8
Constantly creating chances for others to miss. If the strikers were in tune we’d get a hatful every game

Ozil 7.5
Lovely distribution as always but needs to improve his goalscoring record. Don’t they all!

Ramsey 7
Full of running but the end product leaves something to be desired. He could become the Welsh Alexis if he was just a little more confident in front of goal.

Walcott 6.5
As seems the norm nowadays, our strikers need to miss a bunch before scoring. Deserved to be replaced by Giroud in the end

Sanchez 8
Another excellent effort whilst under pressure from defenders throughout the game. Was unlucky not to score.

Substitutes:

Giroud 7
Offers something else when Walcott gets tired, but still needs to sharpen his finishing

Arteta 5
Did his job of shoring up the defence when brought on.

Oxlade-Chamberlain 6
It’s amazing that Wenger won’t give the Ox more starting slots, but always seems to be a speedy impact sub. He’s good at it!

      1. ahhh hell no , u stole my idea
i trademarked it as of yesterday
you need permission from muff divings plc from now on
        you have been warned!

  1. What’s with the shit rating for Arteta?
The Ramsey-Bellerina combination on the right is getting stronger game by game.
Overall it was a 9/10 performance as a team. Incredibly quick passing.

    1. he is so vital , cant stress how much rests on his shoulders
wenger do not play him him for zagreb, rest him for chelsea game

      1. ffs i mean rest him for zagreb so he can play for chelsea game.
same with gabriel kos and alexis

games every 3/4 days till the end of the month

        ROTATION

  2. I don’t know about you but I enjoyed the spat between Gabriel and Aranutovic. This is taken from old Arsenal book of doing things on the pitch. Martin Keown must love Gabriel already. This was so keown’ish.

    1. Oh, how sweet a sight that was. It was a fast one. Clubs used to treats us roughly on the pitch, they often come with the mindset that Arsenal are a soft side, Arsenal aint physical. Bla bla bla

Now who’s complaining??? Lol!!! What a “Gabious” show (KickAss Dictionary, 5th edition)

      1. Sagna was highly overrated, especially his last 2 years. Ok defending but backwards Bac offered nothing going forward.

      1. Goals win matches muffy and not flicks & headers…that goal was a 3 pointer so sorry not changing my decision…8 it is!

        1. The goal was world class, no doubt about it. Amazing control, fast move to the right and quick tap pass the goalkeeper (Butland) who has been very good too.
We just need a bit more from him from this position to be totally convinced.
Don’t get me wrong, I truly believe he can be the game changer we are waiting for but he has still a lot of work to do.

  3. To be honest I think coquelin should be the MOTM. How much else do you have to do to be the MOTM. In terms of who had more of an effect on yesterday’s game I think for sure it was the “police officer”. On one hand he made the tackle that actually lead to the goal and what a tackle it was and secondly he almost didn’t do a thing wrong. People always said he sometimes wasn’t good offensively but if you notice yesterday he had took two shots and tried to get involved in attack but still maintained his discipline. Also for the mere fact that Stoke weren’t much of a threat offensively in the last third I think coquelin made more if an impact on the game and by virtue of that should be our MOTM. However it’s good to see koscielny being recognised too as centre backs hardly get recognised in all honesty.

  4. Breaking News!!! ???
Adebuywhore has just been spotted outside the Emirates,
He is available on a free transfer after being released by the spuds…

Wenger has confirmed that negotiations are taking place
to resign the former striker, who is now considered to be a cult Hero for stamping on RVP face! ?
Wenger is confident that a deal will be done,
    within the next 24 hours!
A spokesman from the club has stated that
Wenger was waiting for this opportunity throughout the summer transfer window and the manager is now absolutely pleased that he can land his man on a freebie!
    ?

T-shirts of the RVP stamping Incident with the words “I’M BACK”
will be available from the club shop on Tuesday ??

      1. Why not? ?
        beggars can’t be choosers!
We obviously spent too much money in the last two years on Ozil and Sanchez,

As you said … we got 25mil for him and who knows if he starts preforming again, we could get another 25mil for him next year ???

The stupid spuds will probably end up buying him back
        ???

          1. No way! .. .
            But as a back up,
I think he is worth signing on a freebie
its a win win situation … he will always score goals
and we could easily sell him on to Galatasaray etc
            next summer ?

            1. The guy who Tottenham deem not good enough… You want to put him on the books??
We’ve cleared out pretty much all the deadwood that hindered us for so long.
I don’t like using the term, but Flamini is the only one I look at in the squad who I feel shouldn’t be there. Why add another player with his history who could potentially be problematic??

              1. Hahaha.. Yes He is 1000 % Problematic ?
As long as he score’s goals, who cares lol
Flamini will calm him down by putting him on his butt afew times ?

                1. Don’t forget that he played well
                  underTim Sherwood,
That’s why Villa want him and he is more than likely to end up there!

I’m just joking matey… Even though I wouldn’t put it pass Wenger to actually go out and resign him ?

      2. It makes sense!! There’s only 5 players who have scored more than Giroud in the league.. And we’ll just disregard that they’ve all had more game-time. But he can’t score!!!!

        1. He is, if not the best aerial threat one of the best aerial threats in the game. A team like Arsenal which gets fouled all over the pitch takes many free kicks. Not to mention corners.

          Congrats on goal #60 yesterday.

  5. Le coque man of the match. Wait a minute did u see how he won dat ball that lead to walcot goal. Menh we made only 4 touches from 3 players n from our own half to score. That’s incredible

  6. Benteke

    Martial Ozil Sanchez

Look how strong and pacey our attack would become if he had sign Benteke and Martial

        1. Martial ruined us at Emirates because we underestimated Monaco. But when we came at their place, Martial was well dispose by “the real Arsenal”. He’s not that good.

  7. Well….our defence was literally idle, I disagree with koscienly’s choice……I think Le coq was massive! My MoTM

  8. Diego costa vs gabriel would be interesting to watch for obvious reasons. Both aggressive, never back down kind of players……whew!!…I wonder.

    1. Costa will end up like dead shit, that’s if he complete 90 minutes (he probably get sent off after wack Gaby’s face before half time). But I think the boss will be the one who take care Costa.
BTW, from Gabriel vs Arnautovic, I think it was Arnautovic who fault on him when they were tugging , then why the hell he mad at Gaby for?
Gabriel is as cool as ice, can’t be provoke.
