Arsenal v West Brom to see Giroud AND Alexis Sanchez start?

Defeat is not an option for Arsenal today, especially as a loss would make it a damaging three in a row and getting beaten at home to West Brom would be worse than the previous two which were tough away games at Everton and Man City.

Even a draw would be a real blow to Arsene Wenger and the players´hopes of fighting for the Premier League title and Tony Pulis is well aware of this, so he will be coming to the Emirates with the idea of stifling our creativity and silencing the home crowd and the Baggies are very well organised and strong defensively.

Add to this the fact that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has not passed his fitness test and I think it might be the perfect time for the manager to start with both our centre forwards today. Wheher that means him changing things a bit and playing Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud as a front two or whether he pushes the Chilean out to the left flank with the powerful Frenchman through the middle I think the extra goal threat would be worth it.

Having both the strength, stature and aerial ability of Olly and the quick feet and talent of Alexis to deal with would give the West Brom defenders a lot more to think about and make life a lot more difficult for them and with the visitors likely to be sitting fairly deep and denying Arsenal space in the middle, the flanks and the ball into the box could be the key to us winning.

What do you think Gooners?

  1. I’d rest Ozil today. Because complacency has to be punished. Sanchez can easily take over the number ten role.

  2. I just hope he don’t pick Iwobi over Perez again.. I would Start with

    PEREZ Sanchez Walcot
this 3 are really hard to defend with or with out the ball. Speed , Movement ,finishing.
in the middle tho I agree about dropping Ozil and Start with
    Coq- Mo- Xhaka
    bellerin Holding Kos Gibo

    1. That’s the best we can actually present at the moment.

4_3_3 as we are leaking some goals and scoring some as well.

  3. we need next 2 games (6points) than anyone else. anything short of that is a disaster.

    PS
now that Sunderland have hired ‘Big Sam’ Allardyce, our nemesis teams have been increased by one if you remember his Bolton days.

Teams unable to play and beat confidently especially away from home in recent seasons ……
Man Utd, Chelsea, Southampton, Stoke, Swansea, Sp*rs, Liverpool ……

How do we get that 80+ points needed to win the league?????
    smh

  4. how ever if Wenger feel Its Girud time in front.. i suggest he start
    Sanchez Girud Perz
bc Girud need good Left foot and R foot cross’s.
who is better than Lucas & Sanchez to do that.

  5. Fitting Giroud in, could be clever also from a defensive point of view. He can help defend corners and freekicks into the box. Something we should expect WBA to try to use as their main threat.
